Used STP many times in mower but still running bad from water in gas..I took carburetor bowl off and saw the water still intact in carb bowl after STPwas well mixed into the gas. I put a cap full of 99% alcohol and water disappated. NOT purchased STP since.
@DjFang54 I work at a large dealership, We don't sell fuel additives. In fact the only "flush" we will do is a oil flush with that Wynns two bottle stuff. Basically solvent that we run for 10 min in your engine. The best way to reduce gunk build up in your engine? change your oil more often!!! do it yourself its easy! make sure the engine is hot when you drain the oil.

The best way to use this is to disconnect the plugs of a warm engine, then feed it into the vacuum port/s while cranking. Let it stand for an hour, reconnect the plugs then start the engine.
@voiceofreason2008 maybe it's like the Wynns products? if you flip the cap over and use the end, it has a small sharp tab to cut a circle out of the seal. Man I hate when the tin-foil seal falls into the bottle!

read the msds if you arent sure if its safe, some cars dont like the huge amount kerosene in this junk. honestly if you want to keep the system clean, use good gas, get it professionally cleaned like youre supposed to, and quit thinking $5 is even close to professional service
@XxENovaxX very true. also if you have injectors that spray the back of the valves... theyre clean. look at an old carb, all the critical bits stayed clean because gas cleans.... if you have direct injection odds are the dealer carries a top end cleaner for your vehicle, you'll also (likely) have dirty valves due to the whole no gas spray thing.
@yasha32 the professional cleaning depends, find a good one. in our experience we took it in for a professional and then the the engine ran worse than it came in.
@98770 "in our experience" who is the plural pronoun referring to? If it runs worse in a new vehicle (and the service was correct) it could be a module stumbling trying to relearn fuel trim. Keep in mind alot of newer vehicles will compensate for a dirty injector somehow.

This sort of stuff is nowhere near as good as Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment in my experience. STP, REDEX, MILLERS and others sold in Halfords are generally not regarded as very good as results are not consistent. Compared to FORTE it didn't do anything for me...

If you use fuel injector cleaner, your car will run better, you'll save gas, and you can save an arm and a leg; a trip to the dealership/auto repair center (Pep Boys, Bonus Tire, Sears Auto Center, Some Gas Stations*, etc.)
*most of the gas stations still have auto repair centers.
