  • is this ment to replicate a messa boogie??

  • woooooow !!

  • This sound nice, got it on a 6505+, I'm not a gainiac anymore, it's the fact that it's not driven with a fuzz, best way I can describe that

  • @thetalmidim lol dude if you play thrash the shittier the solid state amp the better crate makes shit everything everything sounds the same when you scoop the mids and play with a jb

  • I made a little "powerchords only" demo of this pedal. Check it out if you want to hear how this thing sounds using a preamp/modeling device directly to soundcard.

  • Whats the name of that song 0:45 1:25?

    Sorry for bad english.

  • I have emg 81&85 and I usually play on marshall tube amps, stuff like metalcore and nu-metal,so is zombie a good choice because I really love its sound=)

  • Are rocktron pedals true bypass?

  • Played this pedal through a older Line6 I believe it was a Spider2? I have the Spider3 with all the digital bullhickey. It isn't a tube amp but it still sounded SWEET. I'm deff. about to buy this pedal and use it through the Spider I can only imagine how it would sound live through a tube amp though!

  • Mabye i want this pedal because of the tone. Mabye because it has zombie on it. Mabye its both. does it really matter?

  • @NegmaDeath Maybe you want it because it's pink!...

  • Do rocktron distortion pedals work well on high volumes with tube amps..anyone tried??

  • @prkl6 yes they do. I have the Rocktron Utopia multiefx/preamps very highgain on the mega preamp chanell, Sounds awesom both in tube and solid state. I love Rocktron gear. Good prices and top sounds.

  • cool i think

  • Sounds awesome! I'm trying to get a pedal that sounds a bit like the distortion used by Cathedral or The Sword. Anyone think this'd be a good pick?

  • What do the stare and scream knobs do? I take it scream is the distortion, but what's the stare do?

  • @Beowolf14 this pedal is called "zombie" cause it's suppossed to sound like the... well, the sound itself it's actually out or coming out of the amp, like in the room with you and not in the amp, like a zombie walking out of it's grave, the stare knob is for that, the more you turn it CW the more "in your face" it sounds, the more you turn it CCW, the more "inside" of the amp it sounds ;)

... or at least that is what i understood from the site o.O

  • @Razwithz Oh ok, I get what you mean. It actually sounds sort of like it would be the 'mid' setting then. But ok thanks.

  • is zombie or rampage better?

  • what is this song at 00:44 ? and later

  • the demo reminds me of disturbed's tone . I like it , i have to say .

  • Hi, great demo videos. Can you say me please which pedal distortion use in all intro of demos. Thank you very much. greetings.

  • good rhythm shit lead tones

  • sounds good

  • I had quite a few distortion pedals and this goes in my top 5 favs. The Silver Dragon pedal is pretty awesome too though.

  • @theultimaterockr Didnt like the voicing on the Silver dragon, low end wasnt solid enough

  • i owned this pedal. its really NOT good whatsoever. the knobs are loose as shit and doenst have a wide range. the stare-knob does nothing than add more mids and volume.

overall this is just crunchy and middy. not very good as a metal distortioner!

  • @Winterhe4rt thats what it's supposed to do idiot

  • @tempermentel go and read the manual or do other research. regarding the stare knob, its NOT supposed to just raise mids... -__-' dont know since when u want ADDING mids in a metal distortioner...

so i guess ur the dumbass.

  • @brianwurst1234 FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! READ MY NEWER COMMENTS!!!!

  • @thetalmidim man if youre talking about the blue voodoo half stack 60 or the 120 ive owned two and they have left me stranded in live situations before they sound pretty good but beware.

  • it is really heavy!! but i am not satisfied with the control options on it... it is hard to find a REALLY good sound on it... it is easy finding a good sound but not a REALLY good sound. you get it??

  • @BartinixP Your guitar/amp prob sucks dude you cant fix crap with a pedal ive learned the hard way.

  • @sharrer2 havent you read my newer comment? i switched my metal ml 2 pedal for this baby i just wanted a little bass on it, besides i use the pedal on the clean channel and i cant turn any gain on the amp because it is a non tube amp.

  • @BartinixP Ah, Sorry didn't see it. And Hows the Metal ml2 treating you?

  • @BartinixP This pedal was designed to be played on tube amps, kind of like a TubeScreamer, it's in the Rocktron website and the manual. The reason has to do with the asymmetrical waveforms the pedal creates so the when they hit the tubes in your amp they'll help produced a more harmonically complex sound. I wouldn't recommend this pedal for solid state amps.

  • @lookagain77 oooooooo :c what about a fender 212 solid state that sounds like a tube?

  • @Oblivion175 Ok, I'm going to pretend you didn't ask that....

  • @lookagain77 lol but seriously, i know its not the best metal amp at all but im playing through a pod x3 live pedal and an Ibanez xpt-700. The amp is extremly clean so the distortion that comes out is puchy and crisp. I Like this pedal but if it isnt going to sound good through all that then im not going waste the money. thats why im just askin if this would be a good buy or not, im relatively new to understanding pedals and tones and what not

  • @Oblivion175 If you like Rocktron, for about the same price as the Zombie you can get the Metal Planet, which I think would be a much better choice for a solid state amp, you should be aware of something though: with metal pedals I've noticed all of them are "love or hate", there's no middle ground for some reason. Boss Metal Zone: ppl either love it or hate it, Digitech Hardwire: ppl love it or hate it, EH Metal Muff: ppl love it or hate it. No one ever says "it's ok, it's not bad".

  • @lookagain77 touche, well thank you for the advice :D

  • @lookagain77 Hated the sound of the metal planet, thought it was too tame and weak. I like the digitech hardwire though, the valve distortion can throw some real punch in the mix while cleaning up your sound a good bit.

  • @lookagain77 maybe that says more about the people who use the pedals, rather than the pedals themselves

    :o)

  • well i've tried the same pedal but with a Boss GE 7 EQ. and i must say getting that extra bass kind of made my mind... i got rid of my metal core pedal and i am now using this pedal!xD sry for my attacks on this thing for the price it is an rather okay pedal...

  • not all that great in my opinion. seems kinda middle of the road some what like the metal muff

  • what songs are they playing?

  • i just realized, pedal demos are like infomercials

  • hey @rizzagizza

i tried it with les paul goldtop with active emgs??

  • @BartinixP Try boosting the gain with your amp just a tad.

  • hey that pedal is shit i thought it sounded great on this video but the gain on it is REALLY low!! it dos not sound the same IRL...

  • @BartinixP Maybe it's your pickups?

  • Not to mention the tonefactor guy is playing through a really hot tube amp and I think the 'buckers on that ESP LP style thing are active.

  • @BartinixP Maybe it will. Don't forger that good amps make most pedals sound nice. Not perfect but nice. A good pedal yes it will sound perfect. The amp you use to run the pedal is very very important. For example i saw a musician using a really cool and expensive vintage marshall. Literally every pedal he run (which wasn't any really cool one) sounded godly

  • I really want to try this on a Fender DeVille 212 a long with an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! That sounds awesome!

  • hey, what pedal would be good for rotting christ kind of sound?

  • this sounds pretty heavy!! \m/

  • I got a Fender tube amp and I was just wondering how well that pedal would work with my tube amp????

  • nice vid

Do this pedal work well with an amp with transistors only ?

    I'm thinking about to buy one. . . :)

  • Try a Ibanez Tube King. You either love em or hate em. I think its the shit.

  • good demo...but name also the amp and guitar....

  • Ace sound... Very good demo thanks

  • It has tubes or no???

  • No, it's a bit too small to contain tubes.

  • Adam D from Killswitch xD

  • ok so the next distortion pedal i'm gonna get is either gonna be this, Digitech TL-2 metal distortion, or MXR Fullbore Metal....any advice???

  • dude i got this and its the best distortion pedal ive ever had, fuckin get this, its totally worth the money i paid like 70 bucks for mine. im tellin ya bro. its tha shit.

  • @megtaladeth is it good for intense powerful riffs with tube amps?

  • hell yea it is! its amazing. i mean. ive heard better. but its pretty fuckin good. it sounds really good on my crate amp

  • EHX Metal Muff

  • buy this or the boss mt-2 metal zone, the metal zone is more of a classic metal sound, and replicates megadeth, dethklok, and metallica pretty closely, and i own one.

  • @TheSchafer78 really?? nice thats one of my choices, metallicas my favorite band but i dont JUST wanna play heavy metal i just wanna good powerful sound that i can play and type of rock n roll on. and im having trouble of either picking the rocktron, the digitech metal master, or the boss metal zone

  • @fritosofdoritos I've gotten nice deep purple, blues, lynrd skynrd, led zeppelin and, other stuff to. Including ozzy anb black sabbath. The boss mt-2 does just about anything but it's not the best, well almost. the rocktron zombie is a one trick pony but it does that one thing perfectly.

  • @TheSchafer78 so which one would u prefer if im looking for an intense rock n roll sound? thank you by the way!

  • boss mt-2 by far, the rocktron zombie only does ming blowing rectfied distortion.

  • certainly this one.

  • I'm Adam D.

  • Adam D.?

    from Killswitch?

  • adam from killswitch plays way better than this guy

  • not bad at all, would like to try it in person though.. hell different on youtube

  • I'd say the metal planet it kind of is a more alternative sound for like hard rock stuff and It's pretty much the same price as the Zombie

  • It all depends of your amplifier

  • @Fahrenheit501 bullshits! XDXD it depends on ur pickups, effects and of course on ur amplifier...not only on the amp ;)

  • @Fahrenheit501 sooo say my 10 watt amp i got if i get this pedal its not going to sound just like this i mean will it still sound good cuz this pedals only 80 on guitar center and im def bout to get this shit

  • Whats with the crummy playing?

Nice tones though. The Silver Dragon by Rocktron is better imo.

  • Comment removed

  • The Digitech Hardwire TL-2 Metal Distortion is much better in every way. Check it out.

  • meh its alright

  • 1:10.

That's my favorite kind of riff.

  • A great pedal for the price-just keep the treble rolled back!

  • oh yea man, its disabled-i disconnected it awhile back-it is on the treble side like you said-i use a bbe sonic stomp with it-it sounds great-but if there is something i can get to better the tone-then i wanna try it.

  • no,its a 412-but yea I use it as the extention cab

  • well....It's the old peavey Bandit 112 With Sheffield speaker(not the red line one,but the first solid black original transtube bandit) I run it on a B-52 AT 412 cab-sounds great with a BBE Sonic Stomp

  • well,i'm not using the old tube head-the distortion is just tobluesy sounding-but i'm using peavey transtube amp-would that work well with a solid state head too?

  • I've owned a lot of distortion pedals and this is the thickes fattest sound. Very impressive for it's price!

  • agreed...:(...great pedal.

  • so,i'm guessing this pedal would be good for music like trivium, all that reamin, killswitch engaged?? I have a tube amp(peavey mace VT) but the distortion blows-the best it can do is old school rock I.E.-skynard,38. special-and some blues like SRV! but i want the heavy stuff.

  • just a great distortion pedal along with the digitech TL-2 and the T-rex bloody mary

  • It's a little on the chilly side, and yet still resembles the lead channel on a JCM2000. Not to say it sounds as good as overloaded tubes, but it's that kind of distortion. I have recently come to the realization that my financial situation permits me to buy only bare bones tube amps, but if I settle for solid state gain stages in front of my tube amp, I can still have versatility. Check the demos for behringer and dano fab OD pedals. They are dirt cheap, yet they sound amazingly good.

  • muito bom esse pedal very good

  • god but nothing beats the rampage

  • Iv'e owned this pedal for about 4 years now and it is the shit, but it's now my 2nd favorite pedal after just buying the Digitech Hardwire TL-2 Metal distortion. The TL-2 blows it out of the water, infact,it blows away any heavy metal distortion pedal ever made, period. This includes the Boss Metal Core,Boss Metal Zone,Radial Plexitube,Ibanez Tube King, and the Metal Muff.I know because I own them all.

  • EMG 81? This distortion reminds on Boss's Metalcore ML-2. Nice sound.

  • love the sound.

  • i've had this pedal for about two years or so now, pretty good.

  • I just ordered this from guitar center. I can't wait!

  • I have a Metal Planet (rocktron also).Great distortion, low cost and no buzzzzzzzz at all.Rocktron make the noiseless pedal i ve ever heard.

  • the sound of metal planet is amazing but

it is very noisy i don't know why

but i love this pedal with my DOD preamp OD YJM308 and hush noise gate

very powerful , hot and balanced sound

  • 1:10 - 1:30 IT'S JUST ORGASMIC ;x! very cool

  • if it is, im setting it to 1:55

  • the Electro Harmonix Metal Muff is way better

  • Nah man, from what I've seen, the Metal Muff has too much of a damp sound. It's not that high end, and frankly, a little muddy (of course that's just from what I've seen).

For the same price, I'd recommend the Boss MT-2, get that nice tube like sound without spending a shitload of money on an amp.

  • No, no. I think you're wrong here. The Zombie sounds pretty phuckin' awesome.

  • Get this and a decent octave pedal and you're set for any kind of metal.

  • did i hear saetia in there?

  • can it run on batteries

  • Here's the info from the rocktron website:

"The Zombie features Rocktrons easy-access battery compartment to make changing batteries during a gig a breeze."

  • thanx alot for the info

  • What's the deal with this thing??!! NO one talks about it and no one I know owns it.

If it sounds like this in real life, this is a SERIOUS sleeper. I can't wait for mine to arrive in the mail tomorrow.

  • Does it really sound like this demo then?

  • kinda yeah, it's like master of puppets album sound, if u play it on lamp amp...but haven't tried it on a small amp

  • that tone is thiiick

  • bone shaking. but what's with the "stare"-knob to adjust the symmetry of the waveform, the speciality of this pedal? i would have loved to here the possiblities.

  • i've got one if you touch the stare button it makes it cut through the live mix the tone is not really changed

  • i like it
