  • I ordered a Magic Mouse today and I do have a MX Revolution, but I really hate to have the usb-reciver just for the mouse when I'm on the go.. :)

  • I really like your reviews, but I think it would help if you actually used the mouse with the mac throughout the review to show the viewers the points that you are making

  • I don't understand why people try so hard to hold your wrist at such a great arc. If you lay your hand flat on the Magic Mouse, it is ergonomic! The trend in Logitech mice is to increase the arc for every subsequent generation, but that is NOT ergonomic. The higher you have to bend your wrist, the more likely you are to get carpel tunnel; it doesn't matter if the mouse is "supporting" the high arc or not.

Lay your hand flat on the Magic Mouse, like its not even there.

    Otherwise, nice review!

  • Place the first gen iphone on the table with the screen face up. Hold it like a mouse. That's the basic feel of the magic mouse. I'll keep my logitech performance mouse mx thank you.

  • Take the pain, pansy.

  • Your hands may be bigger than some. For me its more ergo dynamic than the mighty mouse or my HP. I wouldn't say the height determines the level of ergonomics. maybe for most users who have smaller hands it may ergonomically better. The gap isnt there ion my hand and most likely a lot have hands my size. i would not generalize it for everyone without your hand size. I have no issues like you. the locitech is to goddy. that logitech IS HUGE and clunky looking. all the buttons in the way, yuk.

  • The Magic Mouse is low profile because of the gestures. Try mimicking the gestures of the Magic Mouse on your MX and it'll be a little awkwards and it'd hurt your hand again because of the less natural movements. It's that way for a reason, sadly because of the way it works it has to be low profile.

  • The MX is a high DPI mouse and costs like £90 lol, so you'd surely expect it to be better than something that's £55!

  • Very nicely done adrian. Agree with you on both points. Tracking is bad on bigger screens, when i had the 21.5" imac - i had to literally lift the mouse up as the screen size was huge lol

  • cant you change the tracking!!!!??????

  • i have quite small hands so i have to see how my hand hugs the mouse, though im eying up the mighty mouse because i use it at college when film editing and have had no problems.

  • I love the idea that there are no buttons because they can add them along the way or we can get hacks/mods to make them do what we want. Modding the mouse via software is a lot better than physically adding things which makes the mouse worth it to me. Similar to the iPhone because that's why they made it all touchscreen.

  • i reckon with the economic stuff it depends on the size of your hand

  • i will have the magic mouse soon (got a new iMac coming in the mail - thanks moonfruit!!) but currently using the mx revolution, hopefully my hand doesnt hurt too much, ive got exams soon!

  • Are you going to do a review of the MX Pro mouse?

  • I was looking at that dark field technology, it's even better than Microsoft's blue track technology. Hmm, yeah, I am so use to my new logitech LX8 mouse, it's height is about 4cm. I also like the fact that I don't have to raise my finger to right click, and my LX8 high profile mouse has 5 physical buttons on it. I just like the use of physical buttons better.

  • nice comparison

  • magic mouse or the mx pro?

  • the ergonomics on my mx air is also not very good, i think i should have saved 50 pound abd should have gotten the mx revolution or a simular mouse. when i press the buttons on the mx air, they feel cheap and they sound crackling. im very fussy about mice and how they feel. and im definatly not happy with the mx air, that mouse cost me 100 friggin pound lol.

  • love your honest reviews

  • thanks, i mean no point being bias about it, because if i am there are plenty of viewers who will prb waste there money on somnething they wont like or need, MONEY ! thats the key thing.lol.

  • lol you remind me of jeremy clarkson. he points out the flaws of cars as well as the good things but he also puts them into perspective so it gives a very well rounded review, like your own.

  • SeteMacsFix made an interesting point about the ergonomics. saying that it is better for your hand because you arent doing repetitive hand movements. Good to see your opinion.

  • hmm interesting, i should check that out, thanks for that !

  • So apple is aiming the mouse for little kids?Since it's so small?

  • I think the logitech anywhere mx is a better choice than the magic mouse.

  • duhh.

  • the 3 parts i have seen so far are great reviews of the mouse. i can't wait to see the other reviews. but wut the hell is the point of the low profile? i have used the magic mouse and yes, my hand hurt after using the mouse. the vx revolution is a great mouse and the new mx revolution looks like a beastly comfortable mouse. the apple mouse is new but i'd rather have the comfort than the pain. apple should change the low profile to a higher profile.

  • if u think about it, the LOW PROFILE is ESSENTIAL for gestures, u need to have a flat surface for gestures, at least thats what i think. to have a flat surface thats raised may look weird in terms of DESIGN, so ye thats apple for u .lol

  • ok i see what you mean. yeah it would feel weird to do gestures on a high profile mouse when i have used gestures on a flat surface (macbook pro). if that's the case then it would make sense to make a low profile mouse.

  • good review ,,tnx dude,,, ive tried the mouse,, it was cool but not for 60 quid,,, argos optical mouse for the win

  • wow 3 parts each 10 mins for a mouse....:-S

  • ...lol two more parts and in done...lol

  • Really??!?!? 5 parts?? I raise my glass of orange juice to you sir!

  • lol why thank you kind sir...LOL. ye its a bad habit of mine, i HAVE TO GO DETAILED, because way i see it is, if I WANT TO BUY SOMETHING i look at detail because its MY MONEY I HAVE TO SPEND, these things arent cheap, tech in 2009 is expensive...so if i can make detailed videos and help other on there decision to purchase or to not purchase it. i cant stand crap 10 min videos...so ur tellin me my decision to spend money is ONLY ON A 10 MIN CRAP REVIEW ? lol no thanks

  • Yes and I completely agree!

You highlight certain points and aspects which your viewers would not see and it is always interesting to see your point of view.

However, I am glad that you broke it up into 5 bite-able parts. If you posted a 50min long review on the Magic Mouse; I probably would not watch it.

I enjoy your videos and you are an inspiration to my youtube channel and upcoming videos at GadgetAddicted :-).

  • Yeah totally agree. Haha, I would never have watched it else. But now I do for some reason.

  • Hahahaha, that is just so amazing how you can go in to detail in the way you do. Even if I would try it would probably result in a maybe 3 min video haha :D You are the best DRBUK and keep posting good videos as this one and the rest of the parts :D

Too bad this doesn't work for us PC users, but I am actually thinking of getting a Mac mini for Christmas so maybe I'll get one then. And btw, it's mostly because of your videos I want a Mac so thank you ; )

  • Nice review videos!

I'm a mouse hugger too, and I appreciate how the Logitech mice fit to your hand almost perfectly.

I don't care how many features and buttons a mouse has, as long as it fits good and preferably has good battery time.

  • I agree. The mouse has too low of a profile.

  • yeah the magic mouse sucks in ergonomics , they should make a mix of both " logitech comfort and gestures "

  • Excellent review! Lets go part 4! You old mouse hugger!

    peace

  • Mouse hugger.

  • It's the DPI I'm interested in.

  • ye i know, apple mentioned nothing about the DPI and in terms of the logitech mx pro mice, its hard to find out, the revolution specs are on the internet but the new mx mouse is hard to find out..

  • I have 1 question: Can you use both the mighty mouse and the Magic mouse both at the same time?

  • good question, im sure you can, i will have to try it out to confirm

  • Good review, Adrian. You always go into such great depth when reviewing a product. Thanks for the videos, keep 'em coming.

    Cheers!

  • 1st lol...
