Flamenco dancers all over the world strive to dance like her. We can learn so much from the way she danced. She gave everything to her audience. To the last breath! I mourn the fact, I could never see her live. I hold on to the clips posted on you tube, and learn daily!
I am a flamenco dancer and if you ever stop to actually look of a true pair of flamenco shoes, yes they do contain rows of tiny metal nails on the toe and on the heel. They are polished and ground down so that they do not gouge a floor or scape or damage the surface you are dancing on! The heel is solid wood and the toe is reinforced the shank is metal inside two layers of thick leather . The sole is two layers of leather and the bottom is rubber for grip. The shoe itself is suede or leather in
@tapdancegirl88 you can't see the metal on her shoes because there was none. the metal taps are newer and not how it was meant to be done. flamenco is pure emotion and never needed to be helped by metal taps on th shoes. true flamenco doesn't need or have metal on the shoes.
cuando la ví ejecutando con tal destreza el baile, me quede tan enganchada con el video que me dí cuenta que de la impresión tan agradable me quedé sin aliento.
I have to say how magnificent and fortunate we are to be able to see and hear this mindblowing woman, her passion, and energy, and art of flamenco is beyond anyone alive....and I too happened to come upon this woman! I feel she wore the pants so ppl could see how she moved her feet, and kept her upper torso erect, yet full of emotion! Truly a miracle!
she was one of the (now) many women that wear this outfit. It's called a traje corto. At that time she crossed gender boundaries by wearing it. I find it both fashionable and quite amazing at how she did it.
Carmen Amaya is the queen of flamenco!
