As a rescue worker and dog trainer myself, it's insanely depressing to see that this puppy died OUTSIDE of the store. If the dog was still the store's responsibility and had died under the store's care, the store would have been shut down for cruelty.
I wish people had stepped back and allowed this one last case to pass so that the chain of cruelty could be over and done with.
If the dog had died in the store how would anyone know?...the store would not have been shut down because nobody would have known it happened...if that woman had stepped back and not bought that puppy she wouldn't have even known it eventuelly died...it just wouldn't have been in the store anymore...
they don't get returned to the puppy mill....you fool...they don't want them back...they already got their money for the dog...they are sold cheap to anyone who will take them...probably to people that think they can breed them and make easy money...with the prices that store charges who can afford to rescue all of those precious babies?
i think that this is awesome and everything but most of the barkworks i walk into the dogs are happy and if there sick they are secluded from the rest to prevent an out break. but if the mill thing is true thats messed but at the same time some dogs can survive harsh weather but as for all the rest of what is happening is not cool.
Thank you to all CAPS volunteers & those involved in making this video. I'm in MI & wonder why we aren't allowed in the mall where we'd like to rally outside a pet store that sells puppies. We have to remain outside. (?)
@JMB521 Please join caps and learn how we stormed the mall. They can't tell you what to wear on your shirts and they cannot control the message on your shopping bag. We were just "shopping" all together, holding on to a receipt that proved we were shoppers. We all bought something there, so we were not tresspassing. If you all happen to be wearing the same thing, that's not against the law. Go for it and film the entire thing. Watch the video carefully and you'll see the police are there but...
Please check out ALL the videos about Barkworks, every animal welfare organization has investigated them, there is SO much evidence. The malls need to kick them out, they are a stain on the reputation of the malls. Just google Barkworks and learn the truth . Then call them and ask them politely to convert to the humane business model. Don't shop there UNTIL they stop selling puppy mill dogs and lying to consumers.
It is heartbreaking that the puppy had to die like that, but she is one of many that are victims of greed and callousness. Please adopt and save a life and help put these horrendous bastards out of business!
They are cruelly debarked by the millers who are not veterinarians, cutting their vocal chords, making intubation very difficult should they ever get out of there and need to be anesthetized. They don't receive vet care and I could go on and on. We cannot put up with this inhumanity. Animal lovers are lucky for the heroes willing to fight this disgusting business, like the ones in the film and those that made the film.
The world would be sickened to know the conditions at cruel puppy mills. 99% of puppies in pet stores come from this misery while they leave their mother behind to be bred until she is dead, never knowing what the ground feels like beneath her feet, only a wire cage. Some live in TOTAL DARKNESS 24/7, in all kinds of extreme temperatures, OUTSIDE with no protection from the elements.
This store should convert to a humane business model, like so many others have. The public is fed up with this kind of dump. There is a LAW against selling these animals from commercial breeding factories in W. Hollywood now and in Lake Tahoe too. We will take the ordinance and move to Barkworks' neighborhood and make it illegal to do what they're doing. They can make plenty of money as a humane store, they're just greedy, wanting more $ off the backs of abused breeding dogs. Shame on them.
THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL!, Thanks Carole, Peter & Kim, this store is CRUEL! commits fraud, uses puppy mills total LIARS. Pay attention public these puppy stores are in it for cash not the animals, they don't care, don't be deceived.
Then if Barkworks is so bad and there's proof, then why don't they just shut it down already? That's wat I don't get!

I think this is true but can you go help PEOPLE in Africa first? Sorry, I think we need to "prioritize" people with AIDS first.

i think it would be a good idea to buy those puppies so that they wont return to their miserable puppy mill if they are not bought from the store.

there is no reason for puppy mills
