  • right, seeing as no-one here seems to understand, TIME IS THE 4TH DIMENSION!!

  • @elmotouchesme97 You are correct. But consider this analogy to understand how to regard "time" as simply another direction:

If we were two-dimensional and time was the third dimension, we could be continually traveling up. Our decisions and random chance would determine if we travel up and to the right, or up and to the left. The 3D point to the left of us would be like an alternate universe in which you chose to take the bus instead of ride your bike. We cannot move down.

  • @elmotouchesme97 That being said, I still don't really understand hypercubes. I don't know if the animation is progressing forward in time and we are just seeing a 3D cross-section of the cube or if this IS the cube itself.

  • What if universe isn't infinite? Maybe its just like a tesseract... Never ends but you still are in the same place as before O_o.. I don't really know if what I know is true so don't take it seriously...

  • great way to describe it. i can see the shadows displayed within the object projected in 3 dimensions.

  • uiuiui

  • Oh dear...my eyes just turned into lemmings.

  • I want to be in 4D!

  • @sander945 you are in 4d. you see and think in 3d

  • @flowiepanda OK let me rephrase that... I want to see in 4d :)

  • @sander945 then you'd have to be 5d :P

  • @flowiepanda But I want to be in this world and see in 4D... I want to be the only one! If we all would live in 5D world we all would see in 4D too.

  • @sander945 You realize how awesome seeing in 3d would be? :s You could into a room and see all 3d objects from every angle at the same time.

  • @RSwtfboom Seeing in 4D... If I'm right it would be something like a wall hack in games? xD We would see through things and I know it is awesome :)

  • @sander945 Seeing in 4d implies that you yourself are 5d :o... my head hurts lol. But ya if you were 4d you could look at a room and see from every angle at the same time. It's like how we look at an entire sheet of paper at once, but a stick figure on the paper could only look at one direction at a time.

  • @RSwtfboom no, if he could see in 4d, he would be able to see time itself...

  • @elmotouchesme97 Time isn't the fourth dimension.... it's the extra dimension.

  • SPIRALS??????? OMG

  • Until I heard about people solving a Rubix Hypercube I thought it was impossible for people to conceptualize 4d space, guess I was wrong.

  • it's shown in a 3d environment on a 2d computer screen..... :)

  • Stop talking about time being the 4th dimension. Time is a 'dimension' in a sense, but it doesn't work to consider it as the same thing as the other 3 familiar ones. This video shows an example of a projection of an object with 4 spatial dimensions.

  • @ilpalazzo3 Time is indeed the 4th of 10 (perhaps 11) dimensions we live in. After 3d, there's a kind of split in dimensions. Time is more important than you may think. For example, when you ask to know were an object is, do you care about where it was 10 minutes ago? 10 days ago? 10 centuries ago? Defining a location in space also requires a temporal location. Additional spacial dimensions are a whole different can of worms.

  • My brain hurts now. Thanks TVTropes!

  • If time is the fourth dimension how is this representing time?

  • @clanbigger4 4th dimension is for example 1 thing moving thrue another and we (things crossing each other) in our world (3 dimensional) we can feel that as time

  • u dont have the understanding of the 4th dimension u tool

  • My eyes X(

  • Say some flat people are in flatland. The go 50 kps (with Richard Branson) and they say "wooh!" Then they go 5000 kps and their transmissions are slowed, voices slow, and telescopes show that they are shorter in the direction of motion!! At 500000 kps they have become Totally Flat - and their last transmission (when sped up 30000 times) was "It's full of stars!" People say, "Well, certainly didn't expect That to Happen! What Gives?"

Then some OFF TOPIC people say, "Time is the 4th Dimension!"

  • You can go as fast as you like in the "4D of Time" that you OFF TOPIC people refer to.

If 5 people are standing still and I pass them at 200 miles per hour, the 5 people are like Columns, the moving object ALSO is like a column where each time instant is stacked STRAIT FLAT on top of the previous like cards. The "column" does not tilt. In Einstein Physics it is much more like the column itself tilts.Time is Not a strait Dimension; move faster than C and your column is aimed backward in time.

  • In Physics Time is not 4D of this easy math sort. If the Universe were an XYZ space. Then you could say well time is the 4th D. One way the past and the opposite the future. This is boring and wrong. Say everybody's standing still and 1 thing flies by at 2 kps, and a 2nd object flies by at 700 times the speed of light. No problem. Move through the still snap shots and one object gets farther away quicker. In Physics NOW an object going the speed of light is totally flat, has no on-board time.

  • To see the cube you need to use the same technique you´d use to see a 3D object on a 2D plane. If you can make out the objects in images like [google 3d stereograms] you an see the two cubes here. Put your nose right up to the image, focus on one point and let your eyes go a bit fuzzy; a bit cross-eyed. Don't fight it. Move your head slowly back away from the image and the image will take shape

  • öhmm ich weiß nich ganz was ich davon halten soll^^

  • All those reflection confuse me and so sometimes i see the actual cube but sometimes i see something completly deformated

  • Lol You Can See The 3D IT IMPOSSSIBLE TO SEE 4D BY HUMANS IN ANYWAY!

  • @02CARTheGamer OK, Humans can't see beyond 3 dimensions, any tips on any specie that actually can... Predators maybe?

  • @02CARTheGamer Actually, you can experience 4D objects by rotating them and watching how their projection changes... with a lot of practice, you can "see" them just as well as 3D objects. Of course, you won't meet 4D blocks or their "shadows" outside deliberate computer simulations, thus one probably has better things to do than practicing seeing in four dimensions. For this reason, most people have troubles imagining a 4D shape - but it's far from impossible.

  • @kapostamas so you're saying people can see through time?

  • @ByRecentDesign No. I said that we *would* be able to understand 4D on a similar level like we "perceive" 3D, *were* we confronted by it on a daily basis, like we are by 3D. The only way to do that are computer-generated simulations of four-*spatial*-dimensional objects or environments, and the way to display them on the screen, like attempted above, in the video.

  • @kapostamas That's ridiculous. We cannot percieve in 4D, so we couldn't be 'confronted by' it in order to get used to it. Examples such as given in the video are projections, and nothing like what a 4D eye would see when looking at a 4D object; that is impossible to imagine, let alone depict.

  • @ilpalazzo3 I wasn't saying that the human eye is able to perceive four-dimensional environment as well as a being with two eye-hyperballs and three-dimensional retinas. I said that we can form a concept of 4D space with practice: see a rotating and morphing polyhedron and tell that it's a rotating tesseract or any other polytope, projected into a three-dimensional space in such and such a way. Just like we are able to perceive 3D objects with our 2D retinas – not by vision, but by abstraction.

  • @02CARTheGamer IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL WHAT YOU SAY ANYWAY! And in fact, humans cannot see in 3d, we see 2d and extrapolate into 3d. If we could see 3d, we would see every face of an object all at once.

  • @drgnslt Different faces at once is actually 4D. The fact that we percieve depth as well as hight and width shows you we see three.

  • btw, its called a terresect

  • MY EYES HURT! 8P

  • thats not a "4d" Cube, only a optical Ilusion...

  • @Timberbreak1 Its an optical illusion to show 4D, its impossible to see 4D because we live in the third dimension, just how second dimension people cant see 3D objects

  • @Beyond82094 We saw 4D, the 3 Dimensions of Optic and one Dimension of Time... Then it must be an 4D optical Cube...

  • @Timberbreak1

    it's a 4d cube ie: a hypercube

    you ignorant moron

  • @nainladen polite aren't you

  • What program do you use ooor did u code that your self ;)

  • i can see it for real i mean does that mean i can see 4 d?

  • smoking weed while watching this? not a good idea lol

  • The La Defense building in Paris is a 4d tesseract.

  • HOW DA FK DO U GET 4 D!!!!!

  • @nickel2341 you dont. the fourth dimension is time

  • @virokill132 ok now my head hurts ....... O.o a cube that sapns thru time?

  • @virokill132 No, you're leaving the topic. The fourth D could be color or on/off. But since the first 3 Dimensions in this topic area are X axis, Y axis, Z axis - A Cartesian Coordinate system for saying Where pts and lines are in a spacial grid system. Why do you not understand that saying TIME is the 4D LEAVES this topic area. OBVIOUSLY Here the next D will connote adding One More Axis perpendicular to each of the previous three and it will make a Cartesian Grid system. Where is Pt K? at XYZW.

  • technically, a cube is 3-dimensional. this is a tesseract.

  • The depressing thing about this is that, this is not a tesseract (4d cube)... this is the equivalent to its shadow (in this there is still only X,Y,and Z... there is no W axis show...) MIND FUCKED!!!!!

  • MY BRAIN HURTS.

  • alien geometries, much?

  • In the 4th dimension this is a perfect square.

  • this is just similar to what the shadow of a 4D object would look like, it is impossible for us to see what 4D looks like, and even if we did we wouldn't comprehend it.

  • would this be considered a hypercube

  • If it's 4d, it's not a cube...

  • @AnimeFoxx Exactly, would be an hypercube.

  • @lluvank Tesseract

  • You know, since I can imagine another dimension, this actually makes sense to me. However, just like 2D beings are not able to see 3D, a higher dimension, we cannot see 4D, so this is merely a theory.

  • @MinersCraftTube yes, it would be hell awsome to see our World and those 7 billion human beings as flat as plates!! LOL

  • @MinersCraftTube how do u know we are not 4D beings?

  • there's a hidden message in that tesseract, isn't it?

  • thats not 4d thats 2 d object

  • MindKill!!! AAA!!

  • this is a perfect example of a 4d object /watch?v=6U9KNFsIE4w&feature=related skip to 19:03 or watch the whole show, its awesome!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @YuccaYoYogames dude, he put the checkered pattern there so you could see that you can't actually follow it on any side because it disappears to another side, or, more appropriately, another dimension

  • Comment removed

  • @YuccaYoYogames you don't even understand the point i was trying to make.

  • Ich muss kotzen!!

    WTF??

  • i almost thought id go epileptic if that video was any longer.

  • Comment removed

  • you know....ill just stick to puppies and kittens.

  • Are you... trying to... kill me?

  • MIND

    FUCK

  • Wow I wish our brains could actually comprehend stuff like this...

  • @mrretardedrofl It's actually called a tesseract.

  • @ThePaddler77 almost right my friend :D tesseract is the unfold version of a hybercube haha :)

  • @ThePaddler77 and its also called a hypercube

  • @ThePaddler77 wrinkle in time :D

  • 0.0

  • even thou its a hipercube , its silhouette still draws a tridimentional cube...

  • i....am.....a......chicken.............

  • wait i was watching ray william jonson an hour agoe

  • psssh. looks like a simple dodecahedron to me...

  • i do NOT know how i got here i just remember that i looked up minecraft

  • I CAN SEE THROUGH TIME....

  • wait what is 4 D?

  • I Like

  • MIND FUCK

  • You made me hyptnoze **** you

  • so actually, that's a 3d cube containing much more complex shapes which change forms?!

  • I don't want your damn lemons, life!

  • If this truly was a 4D shape it would make a black hole

  • I love tryin to comprehend what the mind can't!!

  • @13Gangland Why try, when you know it can't?

  • criss angel must've gotten into one of those :P

  • isnt the 4th dimension time?

  • M-M-M-M-M-MINDFUCKED

  • any one see the 3d star in the middle

  • Imagining a 4d shape is like imagining a new color. Impossible.

  • @tinagetchel But if you try hard enough! -concentrates- -head explodes-

  • I think that this is just an optic illusion...I can say that the 4d cube is the tessaract...this is just a 3d cube that creates headache

  • @WeazelNetwork I think this is a tessaract with all the faces rendered as a XOR operation to reverse the pixel value. It's actually a clever idea, because all other 4D cube pictures I have seen are basically outline only, because projected in this way a 4D shape is bound to self-intersect. This way we can see all the intersections.

  • if 4d is actually like that being viewed in a 4d universe (area, whatever) count me in because we would "be high" everytime we looked around :D

  • COME ON! THAT'S NOT EVEN A CUBE .

  • Somehow...I understand :o

  • You appear to have disabled several Graphics settings in game: Real Life Settings disabled: Logic Sense Physics Anti-Aliasing Time Space Relativity Gravity Be aware that these changes may cause irrepairable damage to your savegames.
  • wait... im confused now...

  • what the fuck thats not 4d, the fourth dimension is the unstable time dimension -.-!

  • @SlayerFoxX what the 4th dimension meant in this video is a world with 3 sides(3d has 2 sides, inside and outside, 2d has only 1 side), not time.

  • nyan nyan nyan

  • i statrted on nyan cat, got to math genius then appeared on this thumbs up if same happened to you!!!

  • @Maniacaholic

mmm didnt happen to me.. thumbs down for you

  • uuhm you know that the 4th dimension is actually the time right?

  • This isn't a 3 dimensional rotation like we are used to manuvering something around in our 3-d space, but more of a rotation from 3-d space, to one where we can freely move about the different possiblilities of our current 3-d space. This would also solve the problem of finding a 4th plane that is dimensionally perpendicular to our current 3-d existence.

  • I actually observed the shadow of a rubik's cube and noticed a similar 2-d pattern to that of a hypercube. I drew upon this idea to theorize that instead of moving forward and backward or left and right or up and down, the 4th possible spatial dimension would be that of "ROTATION" into the 4th dimension.

  • If x is perpendicular to y is perpendicular to z, these create a 4 right angles intersecting, these planes however are all 2-d planes stacked left and right for the x,z value and stacked up and down for the x,y value. Independently of both of these is w,

  • Time is only the 4th dimension if you define it thus, time is tricky because every dimension experiences time in the same way, in a linear direction. Now my own theory about the fourth dimension and where the 4th spatial plane is, deals with the 3 dimensional plane.

  • wow i found this video the EXACT same way

  • Great, a 4d cube projected in 3d on a 2d surface... This isn't pointless at all.

  • AHHHHHH, MIND RAPE!!!

  • my mind is hurting arrrrrrrrrrr

  • Wrong.

    4D is time.

Meaning you have to reach INFINITE to reach 4D.

  • @Squidward820 Don't quit your day job, and don't try to act intelligent. The idea that time is the fourth spacial dimension is a fallacy born from twentieth century popular science.

If you're actually interested in learning, look up the "tesseract."

  • must be funny if you're on drugs

  • Instead of making it simpler to see you made it more complicated; no good.

  • sorry, not high enough yet, be back later.

  • MY MIND IS FULL OF FUCK

  • this is probably the best representation ive seen so far - much easier to visualise than a lot of the others

  • OUCH

  • how i came to this vid:

    1. nyan cat extended 3,5 h (head fuck)

    2. math genius! (lol retard)

    3. INSTANT HEADACHES

i think i need anti aliasing for my brain...

  • @AngelusVRU That IS the EXACT path i took. good god

  • @AngelusVRU Exaclty the same way i got here.

  • @AngelusVRU ME TOO! awesome xD

  • @AngelusVRU i came hear cos of nyan cat :P

  • @AngelusVRU 78 people do...

  • @AngelusVRU fuckin shit no way me too !!!

  • lol this is 3d haha, cube is only 3D...it can't be 4D hahahaha

  • i think i just lost half of my brain....

  • it looks like a bug :/

  • MINDFUCK.

  • THIS IS JUST 3D B.I.T.C.H WHICH SEEMS LIKE 4D ILLUSION

  • @amitmhatre92 It's actually 2D and a 3D illusion :)

  • THIS IS JUST 3D B.I.T.C.H

  • 4th dimension is space...

  • what black magic is this

  • It took me a few seconds, but I could see the edges of the cube. :)

  • My brain can't handle that aaahhh!!! XD

  • it's in 3d 4d is when you can feel thant you are in the place eg if it's raining you you it rains on you for real

  • @reyuobciremya No it's not... <_<

I know according to some theaters and shit that thats 4D but it's not... <_<

  • Aliens geometries...Things man where not meant to know. My small, mortal mind cannot grasp the true form, or else I might lose my sanity.

  • MY MIND! IT MELTS!

  • i thought we already live in the 4th dimension, x,y,z and time...

  • @WoodzTV

    'Cause that seems logical... <_<

"x,y,z, and time" Why would the 4th dimension be time if the 3 others are x,y,z?

  • @gurra991 idk, I heard it on aother science video

  • @gurra991 well its length with depth and duration x y and z are just variable nicknames for length width and depth. the 4th is duration. watch the video "imagining the 10th dimension. itll explain a lot. even beyond the 4th.

  • @WoodzTV please watch the video Imagining the 10th dimension. all dimensions are of spacial value. not time...

  • visual paradox

  • MY EYES!!! ARGH, MY BLOITING EYES!!! D:<

  • An object has 3 dimensions and that's it. Only us, the humans, make our lives more complicated !

  • Comment removed

  • There is no such thing a 4D! The 4th dimesion is TIME! Therefore everything that is affected by time is a 4D object!
