Electric Wizard is my all time favorite band. They even managed to usurp Led Zeppelin! LZ HAD been my favorite band since I could crawl too, so, EW pulled off what I thought was impossible.
I kind of hope that, in my lifetime, another band comes along and dethrones Electric Wizard... but, at the same time, I hope not. I like EW as my king of bands.

I know what you mean, but I think if a person has researched all different types of metal and knows for certain that he/she only likes one particular type of metal for a legitimate reason, then it makes sense for them to only like one type. But I agree, to only like one type for no reason IS pretty shitty.
I love both death and doom too. A lot of older death metal bands mix the fast tempo stuff with slower doomier riffs anyway, like Autopsy or Necrophagia, and someone like Hellhammer/ Celtic Frost, who have influenced countless death, black and even thrash metal bands had some pretty mighty slow doomy parts. Heavyness is in the mood you convey, the dynamics of the songwriting and the riff.
I agree 100% that Come My Fanatics was their best. I like Dopethrone too, don't get me wrong, but to me Come My Fanatics was a fucking masterpiece of monumental proportions.
