I'm sorry to see the comments here by people who obviously have no concept of the soul of this gem of a play. It's ok though, because you obviously did.
I don't think you overacted at all. I thought it was, to put it simply, "fantastick". :D Hahaha. We're doing The Fantasticks for our school musical right now and I am the part of The Wall (or the Mute) and it's so much fun.
wtf u were 17 when you did this? my god i am impressed. like I was listening to this and opened facebook up in another window and a minute later i could have sworn i was listening to a cast recording. and believe me I am a very touch critic when it comes to music/theater/musical theater.
lovely interp and you sound beautiful. i'm not a huge fan of your dress, it's not what i pictured for the character but i'm a fan of your acting and singing :) good job
i have that monologue for NJDFL competitions! its so great to perform, i like how you do it. we made her seem a little more out there, its much funnier for competition, but your version completely fits here. and in ours, her hair turns gold, not mauve....
(this is not freeheelernate, it is zigglezaggles12)
My voice teacher gave me this song to practice. I love it! I think I am quite good at it. Haha. I hope that (because I am only twelve) I can play Luisa in the future! You are great!
Thanks for your input. However, I believe Luisa is not psychotic, but rather immature and naive. She knows nothing other than her sheltered life of being raised by a single father (who happens to have a severe chronic condition, which explains why he would be so overprotective of his daughter) and the boy who lives next door, probably one of the very few romantic encounters she has ever had. This is why Act II is so important; it allows her to transition from childlike foolishness to maturity.
You certainly didn't overact. Just right for that character and her emotions. I direct and would love to be able to work with you but 3000 miles away. Keep up the good work.
Overacting isn't an interpretation, nor is it a choice. I'm glad that you supported yourself, though. You have potential, much. How'd Round and Round go, isn't it a bitch!?!
Well, thank you very much! I'm actually going to be studying nursing, but I hope to continue theatre on the side, and possibly get a minor. But who knows... =D
Fantastic! I love this show, and I wish I could have seen this production of it. Thanks for posting this video to share this beautiful performance of one of my favorite songs.
I was fortunate to have played Bellamy a few years ago, and I would have been proud to have called you my daughter!!1
Wonderful performance.
Nicely subtle, and strong where needed.
Very very nice!!

You probably should have reacted way a lot more.
The character is like, a psychotic chick, so you should play one.

It's farcical, yes, but you don't need to overact.

Well, thank you for the advice anyway. I'm sorry you did not enjoy my interpretation of the character.
