You're not Hillbillies (and there's nothing wrong with them; any more than any other group). Pollution is negligible; can't be more than what comes out of most fireplaces. You're two people giving out some very useful information ~ granted, with a small ad ~ so what. LOVE the music you use. This information is very useful; thank you.
my friends and I had a competition who could the make the best rocket effect of the oil burning out of the crucibles. You had to have a small wood stick constantly over the crucibles holes for maximum fire. When you see smoke during this process, its the moisture and oils of the wood. Its why you should cook your hot dogs on briquettes instead of good ol pine. I'm gonna go on a hunt for willow..... 90% of the charcoal I make is from Xmas tree's that lasted the whole year! the cats love it...
@Downfacingdog Sorry, hillbillies are from way down south. I'm out west. Redneck, maybe. Hillbilly, no. I'm pretty sure that my low levels of pollution are no worse than you driving your gas guzzling car. If the earth didn't have a way to deal with pollution, we'd all be dead by now.
@jpchapboy lol so true m8 have you also noticed they have all but stooped on that subject as it was blown out of the water a while ago as carbon and fires are also a natural cycle of things as is heating and cooling of our planet as we move closer to the sun and then move back away
@nicuribe Charcoal briquets will not make good black powder. there is far too many contaminates. Ever notice all the ash after you are done barbequing? that would all be in your powder and would make it incredibly inefficient. Sorry no shortcuts there.
did you know that if you cook food with poplar or poplar charcoal you can get sick from it.the rest of the wood is ok for cooking but deffinetly not poplar
Not really. If the charcoal has been carbonized fully, all the toxic volatiles will have been pyrolized and driven off, no matter the source material. Charcoal is carbon, not wood. Different charcoals vary in activated surface area and burning rates, but they're all carbon.
@MrALIENMUSIC No chemicals are required to make charcoal this way. It is purely the reaction if intense heat in a low oxygen environment (that's why you use the metal can.)
@BoosieBoy122 Yes there is. I used about a 3/8" hole for the one gallon can, and a big hole (about 3/4 X 1/2") with a cold chisel for the 5 gallon can.
A lot of work, complicated, time consuming. A simpler way that makes good usuable charcoal is to just build a campfire. When the wood is coals, pour water on them to stop the charing. Place the charcoal on a wiremesh screen off the ground, and wash with water, then let it dry. You now have very good charcoal, make easily, and in only and hour. It's one of the old, traditional ways, and works really well. Try it once, and you'll throw away all those cans, and drums, as too much trouble.
now that's a fire lol thanks for the "how to" ^_^v

What a waste of wood, how about this, put the hole on the bottom of the barrel and cover the top. This way you get charcoal from all the wood burnt.
I agree cut the music, annoying.

Why do people always think music is so damn nessessary when making videos ????????????????

@carypappass Some people realize that the audio is actually more important than the video itself.

Do you think the glue in the plywood and the finnishes on the furnature you cut up and burned are any good for the environment? Hillbilly assholes.
