Merkavas are a bit heavier then abrams, plus with mine protective plates at the bottom, when one got stuck you needed like 2 D9 bulldozers to get it out,,,
@LostHemingway Yep, at 67.6 short tons, the Abrams is a heavyweight. After all, the heaviest tank ever to come upon the battlefield was the King Tiger at 76.9 short tons.
@LostHemingway hmm, its about 70 a m1 weight is always descibed in long tons, a leo2a6 is 62.3 tons a
a m1a2 is 61.3 normal tons so its not as heavy as "discovery" wants it, and a leo is actualy 0.5 m higer than an m1 it has the same protection, a leo tackes heat beter, a m1 tackels Ke Rods beter
wait so as i was reading a comment of your i saw how you said its your tank. if your implying you are a tanker then thats AWESOME..if not....this is still AWESOME
@52111centrumcz haha.... very true! Although I suppose we'd then have to fear RPG's and know our tank is completely impotent in battle, but yes, not as heavy!

You gave me an idea for an invention, the submarine tank. Like those animals in the Kevin Bacon movie, only a tank.

man that's some weird terrain, it's look dry and sollid but onderneath it's muddy as heck it seems.
what pulled you out? a breacher?
Predatorizle 2 years ago
@Predatorizle
The terrain was quite strange. On the surface, it looks totally dry and solid.. In reality, it's like a dried out marsh/lake bed.
The M88 tank recovery vehicle pulled us out.
LostHemingway 2 years ago
@LostHemingway Looks like he's winching it out not pulling LOL:)

Much lighter/same area of tracks.

We were out there by ourselves for a couple days on the Syrian border before the tank was pulled out.
3 other tanks were stuck at other spots.
Kind of eerie setting up for the night without any close support.
LostHemingway 2 years ago
You were the guys in the tank? Weren't you supposed to follow a road or something? (just asking)
mcbraynor 2 years ago
@mcbraynor Tanks are equipped with tracks exactly for that reason. To NOT follow roads. In Iraq and Afghanistan following roads = IED blasting!
