@TraxWhite Sure they are zeroing in to beat wow, but they can never go open to say it because it would put them on the spot. And the media and the public, will hold them to that, and it will be bad business for them if they fail to live up to that. If they say Blizz we coming after YOU, and the game fail like WAR, their reputaion will crash and burn, and become the laughing stock in the MMO industry.

I wish people would stop banging on about Wow Vs GW, it's no wonder he was annoyed when he answered the question. The two games are very different and both have good and bad points imo, but I can still play both without the strange "fanboy" attitude a lot of people seem to have.

GW1 gave me years of fun for about $50, no other game could achieve that for that little, so it's no surprise that ANet like to mention that it will be free to play :)

Well said Colin! He's the best speaker ever when it comes to talking about the game, he knows what's up. You can also really tell that he does love what he's doing, he loves his job, he loves Guild Wars, and he loves giving his and the companies view on it. He is one of the major reasons I am getting gw2, there's three people in this world I would love to shake their hand, he's one of them.

Guild wars 2 will be better than wow

AND its free, ofc ppl will abandon WoW, im probably gunna log on my warlock in a sec, do some BGs, start getting some noob to about %5 untill a holy pala gets him straight back to full in 1 spell, ty so much Anet for renoving dedicated healers.

Fucking right on ANet. Way to tell the asshole that mentioned WoW.. people really need to stop bringing out WoW in every interview with developers. They only see the numbers in WoW's sub base, the quality is really getting bad. Blizzard needs to start pushing out content faster instead of every 6+ months. They even loss 300k subs in the past 2-3 months. I still support Guild Wars by buying content and I will be with Guild Wars 2. I'm patiently waiting and very anxious for the release.

Really? I'm used to Paradox Interactive games, that if you buy the game less than half a year after the release it's unplayable, but after some time it gets amazing. So you say Arenanet are amazing from the start? Awesome!

BTW- How much do you think it will cost? I want to know how much to save from my summer job money....

@clendor1 The game will cost like a normal game (E.I 60dollar) Also, if Arenanet wanted to have bugs in their game it would be other the second it leaves Alpha, and skip the whole beta stage, but they are only running the beta, to fix ALL the bug that all the players can find. That is why they say "It will be out when it is done" They want to make the game so flawless from launch everyone wants to get it.

These companies say they don't compete with World of Warcraft because it would be a stupid thing to say.

It'd be like Lady Gaga saying she wants to compete with God, she wants all his followers, it just isn't going to happen. Ever.

People need to get over "beating World of Warcraft" and instead of forcing games to compete just enjoy a game whether it beats WoW commercially or not.

Numbers aren't everything to gamer's at the end of the day. So get over it.
