All bow to Steven Steam'n Clarke . . . RIP . . . the real deal folks. It all went down hill from his departure (but slowly at first). Now? A pale reflection of what they were and a lot of crappy albums after their first four. Still a great live band but lack the heart and soul, no?
Their live shows have always been excellent. I've seen them 7 times. First, 1983 in Albuquerque. They opened for Billy Squire. Squire sucked ass and they blew it away. Last time I saw them was 2009 in Charlotte, NC Still kicking ass. Phil Collin has become one of the best guitarists I've ever seen. Paper Sun is an exceptional (somewhat) newer song.
I wish I was at this concert back in 83!!! I was at their concert in august this year and they still ROCKED!! But dahhhyem!!! These guys at their younger years rocking it out harder!!! Sweats,Guts,Glory!!!
i just watched a vid from 2010 and saw them in aug 2011 WHAT HAPPEND TO THE RASPYNESS THE EDGE THE VOICE... U CAN BEARLY HEAR HIM NOW.. THEY WERE GREAT HERE.. THERE GOOD NOW... live ... studio they still kick ass
@zlzFUNNYMANzlz Remember he is actually 52. Also count at least 13 albums, and thousands of concerts 'round the planet. But we R agree in 1 thing..., Def Lepps still doing a great music.
I'm not foolin either...youtube CHEMTRAILS..this is it folks....it started in 1998 24/7..365 spraying worldwide..I found out in 2007..it's taken me 4YEARS to get angry.. there are senators/representatives going before congres telling them this needs to stop..they don't care...Anybody witrh me?I'm not. fu**ing FOOLIN..I'm not waitin till marshal law is declared..CHEMTRAILS/911..overthrow..I like that word..A BUNCH..DEF LEP JACK MURPHY STADIUM..can't top that show..yup..anybody out there?I'm ready
Steamin' was great and creative but Phil is one of the most spectacular guitarist of all times not many guitar players have the fury's speedness in the fingers like him.
Even at this time in their careers, I simply could not take my eyes off Steve & his mastery of the guitar; he was a genius. Classic D.L. at their best. Wolfsky9
@atomicozz What players are you talking about that "sucked in the 80's" ??? I'm just curious. If anything, the 80's was the Renaissance of the guitar player and guitar based music. Are you talking about guitar players? I would imagine the 90's were a far worse time period for guitar players.
Joe's voice was in top form during this tour. He lost a little of it after going into Hysteria. But that can only be expected. He sang like a blowtorch in Leppard's early years.
If you go onto ebay and search for def lep tops - there arent any original pyromania ones around, but there is a company that advertises and they do all the union jack stuff. I got a top for about £10. I think :)
first time I heard this song on LP I thought thats a dem hard one to sing live. but whats more impressive is that hes pushing 50 and still can sing it in its original tune!
Very disapointed itunes doesn't have the old stuff. There was more tribute covers than actual Def Leppard music! What gives? We should assault itunes with requests for a full catalog...
first, shut the hell up. second phil can do whatever the hell he wants. third, don't fucking dis this song or any of the members of def leppard. last but not least, go fuck yourself with a sandpaper dildo covered in razor sharp chards of glass!
Wow. Seeing footage like this just blows my mind! It reminds me how young they were when they started out. And how young I was when I started listening to them. In some ways it seems like it was a million years ago, but in another way it seems like it was just yesterday. Wild!!
Oh boy,oh boy,oh boy!!! Joe...so young...so virile...won't you stay with me tonight?....What kinda hell of a question is that?!...The answer is YES Joe!....lol
Ironically, at that age my answer would have been no. I honestly didn't find Joe, or any of the Def Leppard guys for that matter, attractive even tho I loved their music. It wasn't until their Hysteria days that I looked at Joe and thought, "Whoa, he's hot!"
Really! They were so young and new at it yet they played and performed like they had been doing it for years! They all sounded good and they sounded just like the record sounded! Ehey have aged sooooo fine! I would still stay with them tonight or any other night!!! No f f f foolin'!!!
Yep. Just like fine wine. They definitely got better with age, in every way!!! I agree that even at this young age they played and performed like pro's that had been doing it for years. I love how Joe could work the audience even then, tho he got better as time progressed. Pretty cool I think.
and rick allen gave me his drum stick and i gave it to my brother, and phil sold me his signature model jackson guitar. And they gave it to us because we have a band called THE FLASH 4
