Sandman was originally suppose to be a Surfer/Beach Bum from Fort Lauderdale, FL. The "Sand" Man was actually referring to beach "Sand" initially. His attire here is suppose to be a Surfer Suit. Its awkward looking back at Sandman then as opposed to what he'd become. It's like seeing Undertaker wrestling in trunks back in NWA/WCW before he took on the roll of Undertaker.
