I have HTC Rom 2. 05 that works fine with btooth. Used ur method of fastboot and this Rom. Works great. Let me. Know if u need that.

Went flawless. Except that my bluetooth isnt working. It gets connected but no sound.

Installed it on HTC Magic TIM.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, bluetooth is broke on all the HeroRom... well all the ones that I tried. I can get AD2P stereo sounds, like Music... but the phone and youtube don't work... No fix that I know of.

I'm pretty psyced about the new SenceUI running on Andriod 2.0.

I installed the "[Rom] [32A ] Hero 2.1 Extreme Alpha [Dec 2]" last night... and it worked on my Magic, but has a lot of missing pieces so far (wifi is broken, missing HTC widgets, missing apps, etc)...

But, I'm happy that it's working... and can't wait for a more stable version. ;)

Hi I was able to install the hero rom on my Magic. I see that it came with the Wireless Tether app. Are you able to use it? When I launch the app, I'm able to connect to it through wifi, but I can't seem to be able to use the connection. Is it because my phone is not rooted?

I haven't tried the wireless tether yet... I have and AirCard for the laptop, so I don't really need it. I will give it a shot... what's the App called?

i only got one question: i checked in the fastboot menu and it tells me "SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H", where "S_ON" stands for "security on". I believe that when security is turned on, the phone checks if the package you want to install is signed by HTC. do i need to install a new spl first or is it going to work anyway?

I don't know about the S_ON... does it mention the SPL version #? Seems like SPLV0009 works, and SPLV0010 doesn't let the Recovery Environment load...

My SPL version is 1.33.0009 Last week I tried flashing the Amon_RA ION Donut Rom onto the phone and it worked perfectly. Maybe I was wrong that "S-On" really stands for "security on" ... (?)

Huh.. not sure... you just need to copy and path to the folder and paste it into the shell...

Or, you could just use multiple "cd" commands...

eg.. 

cd \

cd folder1

cd folder2

cd tool

run some command...

I'm really new to this. Do you need to root your phone before being able to install the ROM? Can you post a tutorial and links to the latest files to root the Rogers HTC Magic? Thanks!

I didn't have to "root" my HTC Magic... but, I have the older SPLv0009.... if you have the new SPLv0010 sounds like you have to roll back to SPLv0009 to use this Hero Upgrade method.

I'm having an issue with the timestamp on the received SMS. They are behind by 4 hours. Is there any fix out there that you may know of for the Hero ROM?
