damon was set up.if u know the history of uga athlectics then u would understand the scrutiny this man was under.i am certain that someone put that woman in his life.the day before you are to sign a new contract the police just happen to pull u over and you have panties in your hand.if the car was parked and they were both nekkid i could understand.but driving with the panties doent make sense.and why would any police officer put it in report.someone in that athletic department set him up.
He has self control, he cheated on his wife with another women, whether that women was there b/c of a conspiracy who knows, but he did the wrong thing. He was charged with disorderly conduct, and was very drunk when the police found him. He is a pathetic excuse for a AD, and UGA is better off without this clown.
@sakibt He cheated on his wife like every man on the planet that makes a personal mistake. What he did on that night had nothing to do with his performance as the AD at UGA.He was getting a raise for his outstanding performance and the day before he signs the contract he has panties in his hands! Someone wanted the dude out and they had to humiliate him to pull it off. He did his job as AD and anything outside of that is personal. They did the same thing to Bannister and the cop lost his job.
This is not HIS personal business, renfrn40 , it's the business of the entire University of Georgia , its athletic dept. and all UGA fans. And it took a real arrest and not a real man to apologize like this. Damon's relations are no one's business if he's single , he's not , and his response as to who is the woman in the car and owner of the panties in his hand is a lie. Ive never held the panties of a friend of mine while I drove her home They were obviously on their way to have sex. Get it ?
Mr. Evans. You're only human. You are not the first person to do this and not the last. This is your personal business. The DUI was wrong, yes. But your relations with whoever is you're business. I would not judge you or your character on what you did. You will be fine. It takes a real man to apologize like this. This is your first step to personal healing.
He's toast as of today. UGA's athletic department is a mess. From the president of UGA, to this clown, to Mark Richt. They are weak-all of them. Firing this guy was the first step in a process that needs to happen.
Damon is a good person. He obviously slipped up big time. Everyone makes mistakes, just not all of us are in the public eye like he is. He definitely needs to earn the trust and respect back that he lost, but I think he's sincere.
Something is off here. First of all, it sounds like he memorized his "contrition speech" in almost record-time (after he sobered up)- it sounded mega-scripted. I realize that it's possible that he was being extra careful not to say one wrong word, but even his bodylanguage didn't reveal any emotions of a man who probably just threw away his dream job. And when he took questions I expected there to be some betrayal of heartfelt remorse, but there is nothing there. He's *too* controlled.
He and his lawyers have already begun to spin this ordeal, as witnessed here, on YouTube, with the censoring of select videos. Listen, I'm not one to kick an individual when failure is obvious, but his conceited attempt to dupe the public into thinking he is somehow... worthy of retaining his illustrious status with the university...thereby, staying perched on his pedestal sickens me. If I'm wrong, then why doesn't he resign and take the "high" road?
Mistakes are going to happen in one's life... we got that... it's understood, but the necessity to navigate around circumstances that creates... CREATES public ridicule and humiliation must always be adhered to. No, I suspect this guy will lose his administrative status with the university in due time. And the cause will not have been a lapse in critical thinking, rather, stupidity.Thaaat's all

This moron seems to be deluding himself that he can keep his $550,000 a year job.
Do the decent thing and resign. I hope his wife has as much self-respect as Jenny Sanford.
