True, but this particular destruction was performed by Kamehameha Schools aka The Bishop Trust---in other words, desecrated by locals who, more than anybody, ought to no better. That this goes on at all, that anybody at all is destroying archeological and sacred sites in this manner, is what EVERYBODY should know.
mo bettah no body know! All da majesty of our islands get destroyed by people who have no respect for da land. Not just HAWAIIAN LAND but DA LAND in general especially our's! Haole (foreign people to our land not just white people) see da beauty of our land and , instead of just looking and admiring they want to have ,and to own, and as a result they de-face and destroy what once was! (beautiful!)
i stayed in Kona for 5 weeks, right on the main drag. have no idea how i missed going to this or hearing about it? i did go to that boat harbor (i think), but didn't know there were those other things there, nor did i see any path or anything that said it was historic. hmmm....

Yup--things in Hawaii are poorly known, poorly signed--hence the GPS Tour Guide idea...
