It works, but it is quite slow and air also works like a spring so it wont be very responsive at all. A fluid would be much better, but it's heavy so I can see why they wouldn't use that.

i've seen this video so many times, i'm surprised there's been no further information on this technology. I'm interested in it because just before i looked up artificial muscle I had seen I, Robot, and the artificial muscle featured on the NS-5 robots looks almost identical to this stuff. Then, a couple of years ago the computer game Crysis came out featuring an armoured suit featuring more similar looking artificial muscle. This must just be the most logical solution. Also, 1:15 lol
