  • Nice Nick I really don't understand why people gave you so much sh*t on this video I just enjoyed every minute of the howling of those engines!!! And the horn was awesome too!!!

  • great horn sound!!!! that guy was flyin! 5 stars!!!!

  • That's more like 55 mph than 70 mph from what I see

  • Comment removed

  • @lordbemylight are you fucking kidding me? it sounds nothing like a horn of an SD70MAC. both engine types have k3ha24s but both have diffrent styles. this horn is its origanal horn dummi.

  • @lordbemylight Hell No, This is the original K3HAR4, BN Ordered in 1990

  • wow this consist will never happen again

  • they still have both. wait for the econmy to get better downer.

  • God I love that.

  • You can really here the power coming from those locomotives. Great video.

  • i love the sound of those sd70macs!

  • The SD70MAC's are nice, but the units in this video are an SD60M, and two GP60M's.

  • you could probably hear those things a mile away!

  • @bnsf4 its a SD60M.

  • @trainz675 my bad. Hard to know the difference.

  • i wish the southwest chief would be put back on ex santa fe rails between chicago and galesburg

  • fucking canal streets -.- i never catch em! ZCSLT is my favie =)))

  • I've also been to Coal City--great location for trains. Sadly, BNSF took out the switch to the cutoff to the ex-GM&O route. Also, BNSF allows 60 max through this area for stack trains--most go 50-55; this train is NOT going 70 MPH. The Southwest Chief roared through here until July '96 and was good for 90+ every time!

  • considering these units only go 80

  • Woah, listen to that howl at the beginning!

  • The horns on the BNSF SD60M series have always fascinated me. This one is no exception. I cannot tell what type of horn it is, but it sounds monstrous.

  • It sounds like a K3HA.

  • I thought overspeed was only geared for 65 mph???

  • Overspeed is geared for 70 mph on most road locomotives. GEVO's and most other widecabs have a 83:20 gear ratio, meaning that they cannot exceed 70 by much, before the engine governor kicks and applies penalty brakes. I'd say the train in this video was doing 60-65 mph. Either he had a blown turbo, his engine was completely in Run8, or he had the dynamic braking on, to create that moaning sound the engine is making.

  • Funny. The train honked it's horn yet there wasn't an intersection nearby.

  • Nowhere close to 70. Damn near sounded like he was in dyno.

  • Soooo Not 70, 45 tops...

  • @flamerail that comment make you look 4, not 70

  • Badass video... Keep them comin!

  • Heh...it's been a LOOOOOOONG Time since I heard engines HOWL like that....and i mean F-IN TRUCKIN.

Gotta love the BNSF's gratuitous amounts of speed coming out of the chute in Chicago.

  • fucking sweet dude

  • Thank you for catching the SD60M for me,I appreciate it! if you have any requests! my dad and I would be glad to fill them! thanks again your friend DeVerne!

  • Hi Nick you can expect the video to be up next saturday! Something interisting about KCT is that it is owned by all the major railroads in town! KCT BNSF UP NS KCS and CSX provide an interisting mix of trains! ! talk later your friend DeVerne!

  • Hey DeVerne,

Wow. That would make for a sweet mix of power! I'd love to railfan that railroad sometime. Thank you very much again!

    Talk to you soon.

    Your friend, Nick

  • yep those railroads plus the KCT which they all own makes for a heck of alot of trains with diverse paint schemes and locomotives! and lots of diferent horn sounds!

  • That would certainly make for great sights and sounds!

I wasn't really familiar with this railroad until you mentioned it to me. I'm glad that you did. Thank you very much!

  • your welcome Nick!

  • Hi Nick! I have decided to deticate a video to you of either the Kansas City Terminal or of some WATCO switchers I've seen downtown! talk to you tommorow your friend DeVerne!

  • Nice!! That definately is a break from GEVOs and Dash 9s.

  • Was the BN patched by BNSF???5 stars!!!

  • Thank you very much, John!
