Whoever thinks that you can make an elevator faster by doing anything inside is a moron. The speed of an elevator cannot be changed unless you change the parameters from the controller itself. And for that, you would need a special tool to plug into it.

Hey. I'm an elevator mechanic, and I can tell you that doesn't work. The only way to do that is with a key to take it "out of group". It's also impossible to change the car speed from within the car, except for hitting the STOP button.

what about when elevators have a non-stop button? I have seen on some Montgomery and westinghouse elevators that have a non stop button? There Montgomery elevator has no fire service at all, being that it was installed in 1969. The westinghouse elevator has Innovation Industries fixtures. and Right next to non stop is an up and down button, but they dont do anything.

if you hold the close button and the floor you want to go to for over 5 seconds then actually yes it skips all other floors that people want to get on at. do you know why? how do you think paramedics and police etc. get to the floor they need to in an emergency? do you think they wait and let all the other people get in? No. they bypass all other people so they can get to where they need.
