God, I was so excited for this for so many years and I finally got my hands on it and it was such a waste. This trailer is more impactful and thought provoking and beautiful than the entire work could ever be and that's a real shame.
@justmisskasik Hmm kind of surprising how anyone could get into any of the movies. Where is the fun or fascination in any of them? Guess I don't get it lol
@somotastic21 you have to really study the movies to get them. I have never seen a movie with so many metaphors in symbols in themes. its basically Creception.
@gjcobb You can't. The Cremaster series was only ever released as a limited edition box-set of just 20 editions that sold for $100,000.00 each. - All 20 editions were purchased. It is possible to find each of the films as torrents or on various peer-to-peer networks. Or, you'll just have to wait until they come around for a screening at a nearby art-house theater. Other than that, there is one mass-market DVD available which only contains an excerpt from Cremaster 3, titled "The Order."
@gjcobb You can't. Matthew Barney refuses to release any of these films on DVD for mass consumption. He sees these films as works of art and makes those who can pay thousands of dollars to own copies. The DVD's come in hand crafted wooden containers. Only one sequence from Cremaster 3 has been released on DVD for the masses - it's the sequence set inside the Guggenheim Museum, where Barney's character races against molten Vaseline as it circles down the levels of the Museum.
@gjcobb you cant. its only sold to art...people. people who have fuck loads of money. there was only ever 20 box sets made each sold for at least $100,000 and not long ago cremaster 2 sold for $571,000. the books aswell are like £100-£500. the best thing to buy that is appropiate is a 30 min section from the cremaster 3. its pretty much a 30 min trailer of cremaster 3 on dvd? weird, i know. even that goes for about £50. fucking annoying if you ask me.
@blade004 I'm working on a short film with some friends (no, right now I don't have a job, but at least I'm doing something :) ), I'm not in University YET, but I'm planning to study cinema or animation... sorry, but may I ask why all the questions?
@ClaymationGirl I ask the question due to the fact that those for whom haven't had to deal with the real world either through work, personal survival, struggle..etc. and go straight through the process of not doing any of that only to live a life of study, they tend to have a separation from reality and an elitist attitude in the Art world. Your commentary to others is a little reflective of that but perhaps i am wrong about you? Good luck with your study though ;)
@blade004 I said that 'cuz I didn't like the way some ppl expressed themselfes, 4 example, some said things like "f*in gay!" or "this is just a stupid thing that a guy made just 2 have money" & that's not the best way 2 say what u think. I went 2 a cinema workshop where they talked about this guy's work, & explained the meaning behind this film, so I think (maybe I'm wrong) I know more about this than a guy that said "f*in gay". I had shitty moments in my life so that's another story & thanks :D
@ClaymationGirl No that's fair enough then :) I hate that whole "f#$ken gay" crap talk for which is mostly written by idiots that can't form a proper argument and it's just plain "weak" for them to label someone as such. Even if he was gay, what does it matter?, most of those guys don't even realize that much of the Roman Army conducted homosexual behaviour during that time (I am straight though.. lol). A man is a man.
@ClaymationGirl Yes you "would" know more than most about this film, more than me. I don't like Barney's work, although his wife Bjork i have loved (her work, not "in" love) since the early 90's :). I don't encourage shitty moments in life, but i think they build more character and i have had MANY shitty moments... lol ;) But isn't a shitty moment contest, so thank you for the responding. I understand you better and it makes sense as to why you would react in such a way :)
@blade004 you are totally right about the "f#$ken gay" comment :] and thanks to you! 'cause you made me realize I have some attitudes to correct, but anyways I'm glad this didn't ended in a hate to death, like most of the comments haha
@ClaymationGirl Oh for sure, the gay comment thing is really pathetic, i really does nothing for the person saying it. But no problem, you don't have to thank me, you were good in your response to me and explained in a way that i could understand without biting my head off in the process :) It shows you have good character, so keep building on that and respect all from all walks of life :) No fight to the death here! .. lol :) Stay well and Merry Christmas!.
@blade004 well...i must admit that i did bit my head off with your first response.. lol :] 'cause my first language is spanish, so... you know... my head was... kinda like, i don't know... exploding?! xD
@dznnf7 Actually no, Matthew Barney does a method of lucid dreaming where he places his arm perpendicular to his body up in the air. Once he falls asleep, his arm hits him and he wakes up remembering his dream. Very cool
Looks like a bunch of ridiculously dumb sh*t that eccentric people would consider "cool" and go to see outside of something really aesthetically pleasing. But really, its just some odd stuff for a dude to make a buck.
@TamaraAndTheDemon The girl you see in this is Amiee Mullins. She is a double amputee. Also she is a world record track holder. Amazing woman look her up. Thanks
yeah I wonder how people knew that this even existed. I mean I never saw this shit advertise on TV. Lol wonder how it did

@somotastic21 its an art movie. Funded by Barney and not a studio. Made to be art not commercial. One DVD copy of Cremaster 2 sold for over $557,000.
