hey remy, it's pretty awesome that you get to figure out so much Racer X / Gilbert stuff on your own...I've been trying to get that down too for the better part of a few years but nowhere near what you got. Pretty jealous that I see yet another massive massive PG fan get the better of me..haha, keep on playing man, I'll be there one day hopefully! \m/
Remy is the shit.. u either have it.. or u Don't.. he's got it. i can play this song bc i have the real tabs from Musicians Institute from my private teacher. keep practicing yer stuff valeryou.. u will get it.. and Bitchslap.. shut up dude..
@bitchslapper12 come on dude, i watch your paul gilbert vids, i love them, but theres no need for that. Remy is an awesome guitarist and hes a really nice guy and a great teacher.
Actually I think with 0:10 gauge strings you have a little more resistance from the tension of the strings when picking. It just feels better for me. Been using 0:10 gauge strings since the 90ties.
he has a video on picks on his profile, i forget what he specifically uses, but i am pretty sure they are pretty common and they can be found at like guitar center or something
Man...are those the original PAF pros? Or tone zones? in an old video paul said he used to set all pickups in paralell, and also that he changed the PAFs for Two tone zones. Did u ever ask him about it? i think the tone zone as neck pickup sounds too exagerated and unbalanced but never tried to set them in paralell...
I saw alot of your videos, and i got to say, you are a very skillfull guitar player. You nailed all the tunes you've put on the tube. Thanks for this one really helps to play those riff cleanner now :D
Thanks for an awesome vid... I always wanted to meet Paul Gilbert...

I sort of regretted not being able to go to the VIP lesson, but now I know I would've been uncomfortably outclassed by the other players there.

Hey Remy,
you are an extremely talented player, real masterclass. But i´m sorry i have to say this, your teaching skills sucks ;-)

Hi Remy!
Thank you for your tutorials. You are so talented - i wish you the best for the future!!
A few Questions:
Which string gauge do you prefer?
Which pick thickness do you appreciate?
greetings from austria!
mentugo 3 years ago
Hey!
Thanks for the kind words!
Well I actually use 0:10- 0:46 on all my guitars.
I use the same picks Paul Gilbert uses the orange tortex 0:60 ones.
They play and sound great , but last only one night/day :-(
Cheers,
Remy
remyhansen 3 years ago
lol I feel your pain. I use the orange tortex a lot too, but I burn through them continuously. Playing shred guitar does not help their longevity.
spoonydanger 2 years ago
is it that 10-46 are much stabler than 9's giving a little more dynamic discipline on the strings?
i'm starting to feel that 9-42's are too light to stop the strings from traveling with the pick for every stroke...
what do you recommend?
i normally don't ask this but your gilbert-esque techniques are flawless. i am also a gilbert fan and own a pgm301. great video; favorited.
