Makana has the mana and is a living god.. messenger for the Akua.. it is not music it is a religion that is connected to the land and nature.. we are not above nature only part of it.. why is Makana music not in Hawaii Five-0
top 3? thats almost impossible to say, but i can't agree, but i love his style and sound. the Best? you've got jazz guys like Al DiMeola and Metheny, rockers like Vai and Satriani and pickers like Kottke, classical like the Romeros and Parkening, Bream and Williams. Who's the best? who knows, and who cares, just get into the music and try expanding beyond your current horizons...so long as it isn't (C)rap
How awesome this sound is. I never heard Slack key before. It's beautifull!! Only the Hawaiin language is beautifull enough to compliment it. And what a voice!! I am a fan!!
Well I didn't say practice makes perfect, you're assuming I did for some reason, I wasn't even thinking anywhere near there:P Nonetheless, everyone must practice a somewhat decent amount. And "perfect" is the result of "practice" in that saying. Yes, it's a saying, as in not to be taken 100% literally.
Yes ... everyone can master the technique, and play fast. And I too have heard guitarists play faster than this. But his talent for composition, writing and performing music is not something you can learn.
I've checked out some other vids with him, and I think he is very gifted when it comes to song writing. If I wanted fast, I would just put on some Dragon Force or another Neo Classic metal band.
Good points and I agree with many of your points. However, my opinion slightly differs in that anyone can do anything. His talent according to you and the video (forgive me I have not listened to any other pieces of his composition) can be learned, "natural talent" is not something someone is immediately born with but gained through experiences. Songs are wrote with reference to life's experiences. A person is who he/she is due to past life experiences. Just in my opinion (ran out of characters)

Jazz... Metal... rofl.
People who don't actually get out to see artists shouldn't comment on talent.
