  • I think a more accurate title for these videos would read something along the lines of "Impractical Ways of Abusing Well-Made Knives and Examples of Mistreatment By Using the Wrong Tool For the Job."

  • First I want to thank noss4 and those who donate knives to him for their time and money so we can get around the manufacturer's marketing and see how tough these knives are so I know when I buy some of these knives it's money well spent. Second for all those who complain, you don't have to watch the videos since youtube has a lot of other videos for you to watch. If I had the time and setup I'd do a few tests and repurchase the knives that impressed me.

  • stupid ass fat ass red neck bastard

  • what a fuckin noob cutting an apple, you must be one of those retards who make videos thinking they are cool or something beause this is embarrassing to watch, son of a bitch BASTARD!!!

  • Why dont u just use an axe

  • @adam165123

Just my thoughts as well. Right tool for the right job. Be it survival, combat or poking around in the woods, bring a variety of tools - axes, hawks, and knives. I just dont get these tests. Any type of steel will break if mistreated.

  • I love knifes...

  • The Ka-Bar was adopted by the Marine Corps in World War 2 as a utility/fighting knife to replace the old World War 1 trench knife and the widely hated Marine Raider Stilletto. It was subsequently adopted by the Army, Navy and Coast Guard as well. This newer version, made of D2 tool steel is supposed to be tougher and and is supposed to hold an edge better than the old carbon steel blades, but is harder to sharpen once it finally does dull. They're good knives for anyone, not just marines.

  • It really is too bad that these are so purely combat oriented. Obviously thats what is asked of them usually but they could do better with the handles at least in my opinion.

  • lol if it broke cutting apple

  • Y U NO SHOW FACE?!!

  • @Noss4, when you batoned the 4X4, how did the serrations hold up?

  • poor people need to eat there starving and what do you do wast an apple and wood and some sort of rope

    holochief 1 second ago

  • cuting an appel. eat skin you idiot omg.

  • green apples

  • you should fry those apple slices

  • how come you are wearing a paintball mask? its just a knife. it wont shoot you in the nose.

  • no, don't cut the skin of the apple off! that's the best part :(

  • I think your tests are great.....very useful indeed!!!!1

  • It's an awesome knife, but you may have to grind the blade to get better slices on materials like wood..

  • a kabar knife will last forever. nuff said...

  • Comment removed

  • IT CAN CUT AN APPLE ! WHAHOOOO ! dude i have this knife and you need to put it trhrough a real test, this is a outdoor knife not a chefs knife.

  • vids are good noss your mask is it a dye invision?

  • i like the part where he uses the knife

  • It cuts through apples easy, can it cut through an orange though? bet not!!!

  • sorry to tell you this man but serrations on a fighting knife is not to good if your wishing to fight without breaking the geneva convention.....thumbs up if you know what the geneva convention is

  • cutting an apple is not a destruction test. noob!! lololol

  • @Pengu561 Keep watching dumb ass. You will be crying soon idiot.

  • @noss4 I really enjoy your videos, but it doesn't hurt to be polite, like in the reply to the comment Pengu561 came with. Other than that, great work!

  • @noss4 What he means is, peeling & slicing an apple shouldn't be part of a video labelled destruction test

  • @noss4 nice one

  • @Pengu561 What are you, 12?

  • Can You please make a destruction test on the KA-BAR Next Generation too?

    Please!

  • @darknuke96

the next-gen won't last half as long as the D2

  • holy fuck a D2 destruction test about time i get to see what the steel can do

  • get a fuckin' pareing knife!!! for gods sake at least u could have entertain us with a little ka-bar's history ...ur a toy soldier....an air soft dude.. i am a marine

  • Idk anything about the D2 Extreme... But I have a traditional Ka - Bar with the 1095 Carbon steel. I have to say I love the knife and recommend it to anyone. I've taken down small trees with the knife and not even scratched to coating. Definatelty a great buy.

  • nothing more American than a ka bar and apple pie :) mmmm....

  • hey good job testing these knives, in the real world people will use knives for all kind of applications, it is a TOOL

  • have you guys seen murrey carter chip his blade with a bic lighter? He makes some of the greatest knifes in the world! I said knifes!

  • maybe if he took his mask off, i would be able to hear him!

  • I love how 4 months after I posted that comment, people are still commenting on it. Listen, simplicity seems to work best for the majority of YouTubers so here goes. The Ka-Bar was created for the Marine Corps as a self-defense weapon. It is classified as a Combat Fighting Knife, meaning that its purpose is to take a life to save another. It was not meant to be used by rednecks in hockey masks for the purpose of entertainment. That's the point I wanted to get across. I sure hope it worked!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX So your a US Marine and and you go around killing people with it ? Otherwise why would you own one ? I still say you don't by the way. lol... For you it's really called CALL OF DUTY the video game. You keep showing your an idiot since you say this knife has zero use other than Killing. Your living in a fantasy world punk.

  • @noss4 dude your a troll, and a dick. the KaBar was made for the marines as a combat knife. made for stabbing, hence the thickness of the blade.

  • @Zaharkl And your a fucking retard. This knife has many other uses than stabbing people. You play way to many video games dumb ass. Also this is my channel if you don't like it. GET THE FUCK OUT TROLL !!!

  • @noss4 IM NOT FUCKING ARGUING! I KNOW THAT YOU CAN USE IT FOR ALOT OF STUF! I HAVE THIS KNIFE AND I DONT FIGHT PEOPLE! ALS I SAID WAS IT WAS MADE FOR THE MARINES!

  • @noss4 Ahh don' listen to these pussies, they don't know what they're talking about anyway. Great clip by the way

  • @noss4 Goosfraba.. Goosfraba

  • @noss4 gettin this knife in about a week for 75$ good deal?

  • @Gunsmith420 Yes, 75$ is a great deal!

  • @darknuke96 k thanks i forgot to say its the discontinued version with the eagle sheath

  • @noss4 yeah it can be used for other things, but its main purpose was to kill. He wasn't saying you couldn't peel an apple.. and you seem to call everyone a troll or try to cuss way to much like a 12 year old and say that they play call of duty or some video game.. i can see it coming for me.. but ill agree.. its to kill.. that was purpose number one..and it just so happens you can use it for anything you want if you try. btw i was a marine. and not a call of duty marine.

  • @creation94 I'll talk to people just like they talk to me. Don't come here and post retarded comments without knowing all the facts. I know the history of this knife who doesn't jack ass. Today and in the hands of of outdoor enthusiasts it's not being used for killing by these people. Now PISS THE FUCK OFF !!!!! Go back to pretending to be a marine in fantasy video game land.

  • @noss4 dont you just hate it when people just browse around and happen upon a vid in the recommend or suggestive side, click it then procede to just fucking bitch about everything and wana wikipedia shit so they sound knowledgeable, and thank you very much to the fucktard up there who said serrations are against the genva conv, no shit so is .50 cals and carpet bombing whole villages, but we use it anyway because in crisis sits, its nessacary there are loop holes to the conv, keep up the gw noss

  • @creation94 when i was reading what noss4 was typing i thought that he was around 16 or so...then i realized that hes a fully grown adult who still hasnt learned that he isnt the center of attention...it also seems that he was dropped as a baby and was ignored by his parents as a child and if you really are a marine i respect you because you defend our country

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX what you say about the purpose of this knife is true.......but it is also true that fighter jets are meant to take lives and protect others, but yet they crash them into concrete walls at near the speed of sound...why?......thats why!!!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX This knife isn't just used to kill.

It can be used for pretty much anything.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX It is by no means a pure fighting knife. From what I've seen and read, these days, the term "combat knife" refers to a knife that is useful for a variety of things in a combat situation, not JUST fighting. Essentially, what it translates to is being a somewhat specialized utility knife. If one is looking for a fighting knife, there are better choices. The guard, size/weight, and blade geometry on this knife are not optimized for fighting.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX

... chopping wood...cutting apples... stabbing steel... lateral strain tests... this proves nothing about most of the knives, regardless of steel type or manufacturer. Any knife will fail if you take it beyond what it was meant for. Knives were meant for piercing or cutting flesh - be it that of a human or animal. Axes, Tomahawks and breaching tools were meant for non-flesh entry. Use the right tool for the right job and take good care of them. These reviews are lame

  • Ka Bar is a serious knife. Anybody that doesn't think so has probaly never had or used one. It doesn't have to be made in Germany to be good. The good people in Olean, New York make a damn fine knife!

An apple peeling test?.....you are a moron aren't you.

  • @graycloud057 Oh my god who ever heard of peeling an apple with a knife ?!!! Your a retard aren't you ?

  • @noss4 Do you know how to sharpen serrations?

  • Ka Bar is a serious knife. Anybody that doesn't think so has probaly never had or used one. It doesn't have to be made in Germany to be good. The good people in Olean, New York make a damn fine knife!

  • Noss what do you use to sharpen the serrations a d2 or higher carbon blade? I love you knife tests but i feel sad every time a knife dies.

  • i am looking for a useful survival knife, but i am stuck a bit between the cheap glock, standart ka-bar, the d2 version or even a sek m2 with one edge.

is there a huge difference between the standart ka-bar and the d2? would you recommend to spend more money on a ka-bar or just get the nice, nearly indestructible glock?

i guess you havent tested the sek, so you may not be able to tell me something about that.

  • im srry man but i rlly hate ur vids, everytime i watch it, i c a perfectly good knife being destroyed. i could be wrong but to me ur just killing it and talk about how easy it was to destroy. to me a good test should be something that a knife could possibly survive

  • hey noss i love what you do every time i purchase a knife i look to see if you destroy it.......hahahahahahah i was wondering if you could do a review on the ka bar becker bk 2 or the hefty becker bk 7, i bet you will have a hard time destroying those knives.....good luck bro

  • Ka-Bars are good knives, i own a USMC full size but i honestly don't use it a whole lot. i have been looking at a D2 a tad more recently. hopefully, i can find one for under $180.

  • @radioguy55 tomars ka bars has them for $87

  • @radioguy55

Look on amazon.com i found one for about $40

  • WOW YOU CAN CUT AN APPLE THATS THE SHARPEST KNIFE I SEEN WOW

  • WOW!, chopping trogh that plank, thats impressive!

  • why the hell is he wearing a paintball mask?!

  • @trebek321 Those test can be dangerous...

  • Good videos, as always, I've seen em' all I think :) Yea, some people like em', some don't. Personally, I just wanted to say thank you, Noss, your videos sort out the good knives from the bad. For those of us whom rely on a tough knife on a regular basis, these vids are of immense help, man--thank you. Reading reviews, field-tests reports, specs is one thing, but seeing a tool perform in hardcore tests--that's cold hard proof I can see. Ya beat the hell out of it, but it took it all and more.

  • this is proof it can take one hell of a beating id like to see you find any other knife that can last through this lol

  • Although I would never, dire circumstances excepting, do anything like this to my Ka-Bar, I am thoroughly impressed.

  • nice mask homo

  • @ corkey. dont f*&%$ng watch his videos then. idiot.

  • @liddy85 I watched about 3 minutes to give him a chance. At that point, I felt it necessary to poke fun at it. The idiocy was too hard to pass up. My bad for caring what's posted on the internet!

  • i think these videos are very helpful-you can see what the knife can take without messing up your own knife-i wish these videos existed 20 years ago when i started using knives in the military-thank you noss4,keep making these videos

  • place the knife on the material to be chopped, then beat it with a good chunk of wood

  • the "extreme" models don't come in a plain blade do they? what do you think of the seration pattern? (especially when chopping the wood)?

  • MAN THAT WAS INTENSE!!! Great Extreme Destruction sequence! I was thoroughly impressed. Why don't you try cutting bread or maybe kiwi? Everyone uses the Ka-Bar in the kitchen. IDIOT!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX Maybe watch past part 1 you fucking idiot.

  • @noss4 ha ah, whoah, easy now...

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX Maybe watch past part 1 you fucking idiot.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX I'm sorry to have offended you. If you weren't such a redneck white piece of trash then you'd realize that it was all in fun. I could care less what you do. The Ka-Bar is one of the most famous fighting knives in the world! Everyone already knows it's power. But if you knew how to sharpen it, the you wouldn't have a problem using it for something other than cutting apples. That turns people off of the true brutality of this knife! DIPSTICK!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX LOL offend me ? That's funny. Your just another You Tube dipshit that knows nothing about knives. Go back to playing World of War Craft you fucking little dweeb.

  • @noss4 First off, I know more about knives then you could possibly ever hope to know. And for the record, I've never attempted to play that pathetic excuse for a video game. If I cared to get to know you, you would realize just how dumb what you attempted to describe me as was. I guess because I'm not afraid to show my face, that makes me inferior to you. Oh and another thing, while I'm on the subject, get a job. You bore the hell out of me with your witless YouTube videos!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX Thinking you know about knives because you use them in video games is much different than the real world. I bet you don't even own a k-bar ? . And yes you are are inferior to me. Thanks for admitting it. Now go load up a few more levels of World of War Craft you little fag at least you can pretend to use and own knives.

  • @noss4 This is pointless. And for your information I own a Ka-Bar 1213. The USMC Black Ops Fighting Knife and preferred knife of the United States Marine Corps. With a Kraton G Handle and 1095 Cro-Van Hardened Steel it is one of the greatest knives ever made. Oh just for your information, it's a 7", 20 degree clip-style flat grind weighting in at approximately 7/10ths of an ounce. Oorah!!!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX Yeah so you read the specs from the K-bar website. Now your boring me by proving all my points yourself. Your taking the fun out of this. Do yourself a favor and get back to the video games real knives are not for you. Later nerd boy.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX hey dude i heard of a guy that bent his ka-bar do u think it will last a life time if i give normal maintainace

  • @nightshade288 The Ka-Bar will bend, all knives do. The steel is what makes a knife and Ka-Bar is built with that in mind, thus it's service in one of the most elite Corps in the World. Ka-Bar is the way to go!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX wow chill out

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX i cant find that knifes are u saying the proper name of the knife i wanna see it because i been useing knifes all my life and say if its good or bad? not be mean just pm me wats the full name k.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX I think that he actually know knives inside and out, so watch the whole thing, and if you ever were a marine, you bring shame upon the corps with this level of disrespect

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX if you know so much about knives do your own test and post them instead of critisizing someone elsis hard work and dedication

  • @521McFadden I have better things to do, and I wasn't criticizing him I was critiquing his video. There is a vast difference in those two things. For the record it is not hard to post a video of you cutting an apple on YouTube.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX he an't saying its a bad knife, if u wach the other vids u see the knife pushed to its limits untill it brakes, so that knife users know how tuff the knife there gona buy is.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX dude, chill.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX hey buddy, that shows the sharpness of the blade, the sharper it is, the thinner peelings you can get, and saying that you know more about knives than he could ever hope to is kind of a dick move, so before you make an ass of yourself, think, then say

  • @gokartninja1 IT IS A FIGHTING KNIFE, NOT A KITCHEN KNIFE! The spine of the blade is quite thick and thus cutting apples is not the specialty of this knife. That was my point. The dick move in this conversation was when he decided to take a harmless comment and turn it in to a free-for-all!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX you know that rule of holes? When you're in one, stop digging! that being said, I don't mean to insult you, rather to say that an apple test is just a sharpness test that's a little more practical than shaving your arm or cutting paper, and a little more legal than cutting your neighbor

  • eat that apple!

  • Its a tactical knife. Its not made for cutting super thin slices of fruit. You cant expect a think tactical knife to do that.

  • **thick** not think

  • I have this knife and the Seal pup elite.....both are VERY legit knives, but for different things...

  • @jhirk89 Seal Pup is better for.. well stabbing and cutting opponents and light objects. I wouldn't want to pound that thin blade through a piece fo wood.. and 'd rather have it in a fight as it's going to slip in quicker and easier than your average kabar.

  • Beautiful apple...

  • I dont think you'd be using that type of knife to cut apples though.. excellent knife to carry however.

  • How many inches the blade?

  • 7 inches

  • @Nightmar13 that sounds like a personal problem

  • @ncor10 7"

  • rofl! you just sittin there whackin at the pice of wood with a knife. lol hilarious.

  • i hav that knife and it came razor sharp right out of the box. the tip accidently touched my finger and it cut pretty deep.

  • i was expecting something hardcore when i saw him decked out with all that gear...then he starts peeling apples...lol

  • It gets more hardcore dude. This is part 1, check the other parts.

  • I hopes he eats dem apples when he's done wit dem.....

  • generally, it's better to baton with a full straight edge knife, but whatevs

  • WHERE?!

  • Is there a non serrated version?

  • yes

  • nooooo way dude

  • well i no why it was not chopping good.......cuz u where chopping rong

  • awesome man

  • Gona eat that apple?

  • These blades are NOT meant for that style of work. They are fighting knives...

  • Not really. They are utility knives. They are designed to do all of the chores a soldier needs it to do. It is not just for fighting.

  • all blades are tempered. if they weren't tempered, they'd be extremely flexible and you could probably snap the knife with your bare hands.

  • The temper makes them flexible. Tempering a through hardened, monosteel blade means you are taking away the brittle quality of the steel. In there un-tempered state, you'd be able to snap them with your bare hands yes, but they wouldn't flex.

  • You guys are kinda missing the point of these videos...they aren't being tested for what they are made to do. They are being tested for what you might NEED it for. What are you going to use when all you have is a Ka Bar D2?

  • You're a moron. Tempering can take away brittleness or harden the steel, ass.

    God I'm sick of trolls.

If you have untempered steel, it can snap, MORON.

The heat treat and temper allow steel to flex, for gods sakes people...

  • thank god atleat someone has some common sense

  • Also, tempering doesn't make steel brittle, the quench does, that is why you temper the steel after the quench. Heating a blade past non-magnetic puts everything where it is supposed to go, the quench "Freezes" it in place, then you temper the steel so that the blade becomes structurally rigid and more flexible, so the temper doesn't harden, the QUENCH does.

  • All Kabar blades are. But I wouldn't say all knives are. I've seen some pretty shitty quality knives that weren't tempered. One of them was a benchmade, and it chipped for about everything I used it for.

  • @pedicabdr1ver not flexible; bendy.

    graphite arrows flex

    aluminum arrows bend

pardon my archery analogy, it's what I do

  • Talk to anyone who has ever carried a knife on active duty. These knives are not just combat.

What if I need to make a shelter? What if I need to split wood (if the outside is wet). What if I need to pry open, well, anything. The Kabar was designed with these functions in mind.

  • @DelightfulTyrant

I posted that quite a long time ago.. But I agree with you. My opinion of the KaBar has lowered. I think these knives are less suited for fighting and more suited for heavy work. As they are heavy and while they do keep their edge.. Ive noticed mine doesn't keep a really sharp edge.

  • I won't argue opinions on the kabar (though I am sure someone would) but I know few people who have used one that don't have one complaint or another. personally a thicker blade and more comfortable handle would be an improvement in my book

  • Just depends on the job. I'd rather have a lighter blade with a better edge in a fight. You don't need an incrediblt amount of thickness to stab someone, and it doesn't do much more damage. Not that the Kabar can't be a good knife to have in a fight, I would just take a SOG Seal over a Kabar.

But I wouldn't ever want to be in a knife fight either, I'd rather be in a survival situation than a knife fight.

  • You're still thinking a little tight-minded on the subject. A knife is one of the greatest tools mankind has ever built and a high priority in survival equipment. "Stabbing a guy" is not why you should buy a knife, or your primary concern with it. Spend some time in the service, you will learn things like sentry removal and survival. Guess which is far more likely for you to use? Further more, guess with which it is essential to have a good knife.

Not trying to brow beat you or anything.
