English is a mixed language derived from many cultures through invasion and conquest over the early centuries deriving from even before the Roman invasion. Celtic languages still exist and they are pre latin, Welsh and a multitude of Gaelic languages spoken around the UK would still have an influence on the English language today.
Germanic and Norse influences on the language post Roman empire would have had a large effect on the English language. Then finally the Norman conquest added a Norman French influence on the language which is the main prominent influence on the English language and not Latin. Most words from Latin Dialects sounds or looks nothing like most English words.

I'm not having a go at you at all but as a British person the Origin of the English language does not solely come from Latin. English is a mixed language derived from many cultures through invasion and conquest over the early centuries deriving from even before the Roman invasion. Celtic languages still exist and they are pre latin, Welsh and a multitude of Gaelic languages spoken around the UK would still have an influence on the English language today.

Then finally the Norman conquest added a Norman French influence on the language which is the main prominent influence on the English language and not Latin. Most words from Latin Dialects sounds or looks nothing like most English words.

Utah and Omaha were ours (USA), and the Brits and Canadians took Gold, Sword, and Juno beachheads. It was a collaborated effort which Hitlers didn't think was going to happen so he actually pulled armor to the north.

@KevyBProductions Gold, Juno and Sword were not exactly a walk in the park, there was opposition on those beaches, and it was not easy. The Brits and Canadians landed Veteran tried and tested troops on the first waves, and it paid off. The US landed Green troops on Omaha, That and the fact that the German 352nd Division were conducting anti invasion drills at the time, so were prepared, resulted in 2.400 casualties.

@biw1 we have different groups for different things. obviously some division of labor. it isnt the marine corps who designs weapons, other people do. we just say what we want and r and d supplies it. and as for training, marines are trained like any other force, just different stresses. im just saying that usa has better equipment, but yeah we spend our money on a lot of dumb shit. but theres usually of common rule of thumb, the smaller the group, the more elite it is. so marines being so big,
