Your documentary project will remind modern folk of how difficult making a life in the Valley was, and the chances one took to feed and clothe a family, let alone the chances others took with lives not their own to make the big bucks.
My uncle was one of the trapped miners and my father assisted in the rescue mission. My father appears in the the photo of the miners at the mouth of the tunnel which appears 1:25 minutes into the video. He is furtherest to the right. He was always proud of the fact that he was a coal miner and worked his entire adult life in the mines. This video is a tribute to all the brave men who worked so hard, but was so fullfilled by their work. My uncle survived, but never returned to the mines.TY:)
