  • i disagree with fozz.Dont care about the hate that will get thrown at me.The goals we coped were due to INDIVIDUAL ERRORS. switching off getting caught square at the back, schwarzer to be quicker off his line etc.People forget germany scored 4 against Argentina n England also. Cahill gets DESERVINGLY sent off didnt help matters. What fucked us is how our players behaved against NewZealand. it was disgusting and portrayed our side as a pigs and would hav played in the minds of worldcup officials.

  • I remember getting up at 4am to watch the Germany v. Australia game. When the team sheet was shown and there was no striker and all players out of position, I was flabbergasted. Verbeek sent us out in "damage minimization" mode and we paid for it dearly.

  • Wasn't biased or harsh, spot on in my opinion. Who the hell plays a 4-6-0.. & especially against Germany. No strikers WTF.

  • we will always die on our feet rather than live on our knees........... Fossie is the best!!

  • Get fucked, its up the the manager to pick the team. Fuck i hate this cunt.

  • Fozza.....a horrible fucking person.

  • Though Fos is usually a hysterical fan who can occasionally say things he just shouldn't, i totally agree with him on this one. Verbeek is a complete fuckwit

  • Gotta luv Foster! Verbeek had no fucking idea!

  • Absolute cunt. Can't find a gig anywhere else except the Morrocan youth team. Not even good enough for their top job. lol.

  • I like a guy with a viewpoint. It takes courage.

  • Graig Fosters should be slammed with a carbon tax....that's way too much pollution that he releases into the atmosphere when talking.

  • Respond to this video... Who's Graig Fosters?

  • hahaha

Australia thinks they have a team to play in the World Cup

  • @paulofighters Hahaha, Australia's fourth ranked sport did make it to the world cup, and in the last one made it to the second round, in a game you rave about, but most Aussies see as an after thought. God help us (or you, more importantly) when they actually decide to get serious about it.

  • @paulofighters what does that even mean

  • @jagscalabrine Mean that is funny to see Fozz getting so upset after being mauled by Germany. Do you really think Australia can have a team to win the world cup?.... do like the others teams do, go there and play without expecting a fairy tale

  • @paulofighters you said, "thinks (sic) they have a team to play in the world cup". which is wrong, because we did in fact play in the world cup, in case you hadnt noticed. of course we cant win the whole thing, but you may as well go there and play good entertaining football and hope for some favourable results, rather than futilely parking the bus and trying to stop a powerhouse like germany.

  • GooD Luck With Morocco

  • Pim is a fuckwit, and i think foster forgets when he was in the team that was "utterly destroyed" and "crucified" by brazil in the 97 confederations cup final lol

but i just love fossies passion i'd love to see him as the socceroos boss he'd lose it at every press conference

  • This guy knows his stuff...but that is really unbelievably harsh and biased....his commentary is really biased....sometimes when they have the Champions league hour he should just wear a Barca shirt it is so obvious

  • @peterzhang1989 I think he was just annoyed with the approach against Germany. They really didn't even try to win the game, and why not? They're not world champions. I'd bet money that under Osieck, win or lose, the result would've been different.

  • I agree totally with Craig Foster, we could have done much better.

  • Almost 12 months on we've seen a change in the way the socceroos play, the coaching structure has been fixed, we beat Germany didn't matter how experimental the side was and we made the Asian Cup Final. We now play attacking football and for the first time in a while, which fozzie wanted to happen and for once I like watching the socceroos play.

  • @JinNOSify Foss can't organize a bar mitzvah, forget about defensive set up.

  • Some one call a f cab, Foster has had one too many drinks.

  • I think everyone is jumping into the emotional bandwagon. I guess that's what happens when you get asskicked. However, Foster is not a soccer specialist because he gets emotional where a technicality is required to answer a questions. Good on passion and Foster is 0 on soccer.

  • "It's not Pim Verbeek's team it's ours" Very well said. Fantastic Fozzie!

  • Foz is boss. He should be the couch of the Socceroos. Fck that dutch and taht German.

  • First of all 'wow'

  • haha this ones a classic... walk down after the game and sack him... send some captains in there

  • Think its ironic Craig Johnstone is going on about Aussie spirit...

  • at the time i thought foz was being a bit hysterical. but now i totally agree with his anger towards Verbeek. except i don't think there will ever be a situation where former players can simply overall the coach. Verbeek was a useless prick who didn't believe in Australian football.

  • when will foster realise australia isnt brazil amd they cant beat everyone they play

  • the worst thing of all is that we went out on goal difference. this single loss resulted in us going out of the tournament.

  • everyone hacks on fozzy, hes a madcunt in my view

  • @jcroldan89 i think madcunt is the perfect word to describe him lmao, kudos to u sir.

  • how he aged, he used to play for Singapore in Malaysia cup..

one of my fav player from aust beside Abbas Saad

  • the players from this world cup should become the technical commitee when they retire. They should appoint the Coach not the FFA they don't understand football. Pim Verbeek is an asshole.

  • First of all wow

  • australia seemed pretty strong at the start, but Pim's tactics and style of play is inconsistent with the team's ability

  • I agree with foz, the only thing verbeek liked about Australia was the stadiums so he could sit on his ass for 3 yrs.

  • this one's a classic... bring in the captains... hahaha

  • Fos is so so so so passionate about Soccer though.

  • Craig Foster's words were brilliant here, it was well said and he had a point indeed :)

  • @waheedrulzatsoccer i agree with you man.....right at the first pim's play style is like playing rugby.....man mindless long cross......against germany....and against all teams.....wtf is wrong.....in 2006 while we was under hiddink we didnt play like that...out players were constantly moving in terms of attacking and defending......and look at this years world cup....we are not doing that...and that is wht costs us...look at newzealand they did really good,so there is no excuse.

  • @Meatballer i agree also, those tactics are sunday league stuff, it would be shit even there, wat u think of osieck's style so far ?

  • @sydneyfcanddascc sorry for the late reply...well to be honest i havent seen his performance yet and it is too early to tell at the moment....

BUT there is 1 thing we are certain, we are at the age of the older generations passing to the newer generations...and if the our football association is still doing jack shit and not supporting our A legue...we will face alot of difficulties in the future of australian football!!we need good new young talents to support our national team....

  • @sydneyfcanddascc we need a system in out national legue to support our socceroos with bright young players for the future...and that is the most important thing...

  • i remember this live. what a laugh! fozzie is awesome

  • my favourite part of the australian campaign was the part where they said where's harry, then he got a red card 30 mins into the next game. i was rofling then! tho he didnt deserve the red!

  • pim verbeek had no courage shown in wc2010, the last game vs serbia was the game that the fighting spirit and courage shoulda been shown from game one, he took the short cut on tactic approach!

  • we neeed guus hiddink!!!!!GUUS HIDDINK GUUS HIDDINK!!!

  • get all the former captains and decide which players and what tactics?

no manager. i repeat.. NO MANAGER.. would work under these conditions

  • I can't believe the Australian media's soap-opera standards reflect in football, when PIM Verbeek took the Australian team undefeated thro the qualifiers, he was hailed for his coaching. Now when they get defeated by a supreme German side(due to a flawed tactic)... under-achieved analysts like Craig Foster let their mouths fly?

    1) Where is the respect when we drew with Ghana?

    2) How about a win against Serbia?

This shows immaturity... have passion not blind faith on winning the cup...

  • Koorja 1.

State Of Origin and the Tri Nations will forever be in football's shadow, trust me on that one.

  • lol Why is Craig Foster getting so worked up? It's only soccer it's not like they're talking about State of Origin or the Tri-Nations

  • @koorja1 wht is so good about the state of origins mate???do you know that no one in the world really gives a shit about your "football".....mate start to open up your eyes and stop being a bogan....

  • @Meatballer I don't care what the rest of the world thinks, we have our own codes of football that have been here over a hundred years and suit us just fine. The rest of the world can have soccer

  • @koorja1 yea plz enjoy wanking by youself then....and dig a head inside a pile of sand thinking that you know it all.....you are a true aussie!!!

btw a hundred years doesnt mean alot in history mate.....its attitudes like you that is letting australia down. Australia has really good potential to compete with other countries

  • @Meatballer I'm not burying my head in the sand, I know soccer is big all over the world, it just doesn't matter if it's not no. 1 sport here simple. We should't feel like we have to conform to the rest of the world

  • @koorja1 then why are we attending the world cup???if you logic is correct why dont move to north korea???since they dont interact with other countries???

everyday we are interacting with the rest of the world my dear....sorry but that is the fact....everyday we are conforming with the rest of the world in all terms....and if you dont understand this basic thing....you are a bogan.....fullstop.

  • Comment removed

  • @koorja1 you are a idiot...since when did i say that australian should quit all of the other sports???since when???

are you imagining things out of no where my friend,

if you want to talk about british and irish ancestors then look at their soccer team and how they played.....both of them are always trying to improve themselves...and fighting for improvement, its people like you who is unwilling to learn from others while adapting it into our own unique style that kills us in the world cup ok.

  • Comment removed

  • @koorja1 well maybe in my mind soccer(football) is taken seriously by certain people(actually alot LARGE group of people in the world), i just hope that you respect other people's view and comments and discuss issues rationally.

  • @koorja1 but sadly there are way too many australians who is stupid like you and always thinking that your the best in the world which is unwilling to learn from others ,that is wht killed us in the world cup on 2010. back in 2006 when we were under hiddink he taught us the right attitude to play football.

  • @Meatballer Who cares if some some foreigner taught us the right way to play SOCCER? I know Aussies don't care! And a hundred years is a long time in Australian history seeing as a country we are only 109 years old

  • @koorja1 excuse me but what the fuck, does state of origin, and the tri-nations have to do with this, piss off bogan

  • @sydneyfcanddascc lol I was only joking, settle petal

  • sack craig foster

  • Does Craig Foster have silvery white pubes like the hairs on his head?

  • We will always die on our feet rather than live on our knees

  • i hate craig johnston..how they let him sit there on the sbs panel with murray and foster, 2 people who have put their heart and soul into Australian football is beyond me

  • Craig Foster as the next Coach for Australia.. you can put your money where you mouth is...

Guus Hiddink has never played on an elite level either and he is one of the best in the world. Same goes for a lot of the UK coaches btw....

Players; A league is nothing compared to rest of Europe so hard to compare as A league is miles away.

Can't build a team on 2 start (overeas) players either..

Craig, see you in 2014 as the coach on how you do....

  • Craig foster is so particular and knows tactical football because he has played at an elite level and has a good understanding of the game and probably i think its fair enough to say has a better understanding then anyone else in Australia and his opinion is very much so valid and is write with what he is trying to say.

  • @hipete2008 You have to be insane. And please do tell me what elite level has Craig Foster played at? He is a critic, nothing else. I respect the guy how he loves his country and has feelings. But his comments to sack the coach one game into the World Cup is ridiculous! No one does that, Australia shouldn't be the first. Having said that, I thought Pim's tactics and the use of his substitutes for the other two games were very good. unfortunately, we came short of the mark.

  • @MelbKnights Dude, he represented Australia 29 times. I agree with the rest of your comment though. I generally admire Foster as an analyst, but he does let his emotions take over, as is the case here. He gave absolutely no credit to Verbeek for Australia's great results against Ghana and Serbia, which is just shows how arrogant and stubborn he can be.

  • Fozzie sometimes goes overboard and makes ridiculous comments. Who sacks a coach during the World Cup? Pim stuffed up the first game, but I thought his tactics were very good for the 2nd and 3rd game. Unfortunately, the first game killed us and was always catch up since then.

  • Looks like Argentina is just as crap as Australia

  • do u guys think foster really believes the bullshit that comes out of his mouth?

  • well said craig - we can all say anything we want to this guy but he is 100% right. we have to make changes to our team if we're gonna have any chance of advancing through the stages in the world cups to come.

  • lol foster da faggot needs to sip on sum fosterz light ice n eaze up off dat armchair couch clown role ahahahahhaah fukn fostini fosterasto...lol big name crystal palace player aye BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA yeah go hard ya fukn GIBBO GIBBO GIBBO OINK OINK OINK

  • Graig's right. Fear will always end in your demise!

  • It is incredible that the team that Verbeek sent on the park was so peculiar to analysts and amateurs and housewives alike. Thankyou Verbeek for sending Australia out to the slaughter. Two million dollars - job well performed!

We were lucky that the score wasn't 8-0. Germany had so many chances. How would that have looked? That score would have certainly reflected back on the coach. And then he would have been made to be answerable.

  • @iankyoko

Most likely Pim wouldn't take any responsibility for the loss and shift all the blame to the players, as he did to the Dutch media after this game.

  • @Asrey It's more than the players mate, it's Australia. anyway... obviously Australia has some issues to sort and I think once they are sorted, you will see Australia in the top 10 of the FIFA Rankings.

  • @Asrey and if that wasn't good enough, just shift it again to the aleague.

  • lol at youtube experts making fun of Fozz

  • As much as I hate Fozzie, he does raise some valid points. The performance was Pim's fault, the players did their best given the ridiculous formation. If you're going to bring strikers at least play them, poor Timmy was all at sea as the 'striker'. What was he thinking, playing essentially a 4-6-0 formation, yet with the defenders playing so high up? The likes of Moore and Chipperfield aren't even up to international standard let alone playing the offside trap against the speedy Germans.

  • When Verbeek says "lets wait for the reacteure, the famous reaction of Australian mentality, that's the way it works...

That is a clear sign that he is being derogatory and is pulling the wool over our eyes. i don't care what anyone says, I've been a good judge of character all my life and he is definitely conning us. He betrayed us and was remunerated by the Germans for throwing the game. He also gave the German coach a nice hug and cuddle after the game which i picked up on also.

  • A lot of coaches are crazy though and leave out the best players. My Mum knows not to leave out Kewell from the team. Hiddink left out Schwarzer and Cahill. Maybe two assistants to correct the head coach when the head coach goes crazy. Was Arnold scared to tell Pim off ? There's not much between winning and losing, but the refs were 70% to blame though. Pim the other 30%. Managers should know that changes should be small. We should have known in the trials Kewell wasn't playing. Speilberg coach.

  • pim verbeeks strategy, way of play and off the pitch coaching never suited the australian play. wasn't apparant during qualifying because most of the teams weren't tight contenders.

  • craig foster... if you see this... shut the fuck up!!

  • @IIxTheRetoGaming Another NRL-AFL Bogan that has found football and thinks they know anything about the sport - YOU shut ths fuck up!!

  • I don't believe it has anything to do with Pim, Australia need to learn how to defend its as simple as that...so what they had one bad game against a really good side. Sometimes I think aussies expect too much from their football teams...we should be glad that they r there at all coz the A league sucks ass

  • Socceroos drawbacks were oversees people :

The ref who sent Cahill off for 1.5 games.

The ref who sent Kewell off for 1.80 games.

Pim Verbeek who sent Kewell off for 1 game.

Sepp Blatter who doesn't want replays so he can control who wins or loses. The refs who didn't see two deliberate German handballs. The ref who doesn't see Ghana tackles.

Aussies should have won last two world cups if treated fairly.

  • @ricky5538 I totally agree with you. Its a shame there are many naive people around that don't see what we see. ;)

  • This is just another example of Craig Foster exercising his "knowledge" with the advantage of hindsight after a bad match, shelving blame on coaches like he has been doing every single world cup qualifying campaign prior to the last one. If he is so knowledgable, why doesnt he try and take up the mantle next time? Then we'll see who he blames when the team goes down.

  • Fozzy your a legend.

  • I suspect that Pim Verbeek threw the game against Germany on purpose. No professional coach would have put that team on the field. Even amateurs at home would know better. The Dutch and Germans have always been close and i reckon a deal was struck between them. He made $2 million for coaching Australia and probably another $2 million by throwing Australia's first world cup game. We were betrayed.

  • @spielberg01 paranoid behaviour mate , dutch are not close to germany in a million years . he said on dutch telly that he aimed for a draw while keepin the counter option open . ozzys do better stickin to footy and cricket . and ofcourse drinkin hehe

  • Good on you Fozzy. Someone has commented on that useless Verbeek going to coach under 12's. I only hope he can handle that, because I reckon my mother could have done a better job of coaching the Socceroos. Let's hope the powers that be do a far better job of hiring a coach after this loser pisses off home. Useless waste of space that he is.

  • Comment removed

  • If i watch the scores Verbeek didn't do so bad?! 4-0 loss against Germany (a multiple world champion) isn't a disgrace! The way i see it is that Australia who isn't a good soccer nation did pretty well over there and u guys need someone to blaim for the ridiculous standards u have.. Australians are ungrateful ppl, 4 years ago u did ure best soccer ever under a Dutch coach too so this is all bullshit! The Australian way ROFL! its pathetic!

  • Verbeek spoke against Australian football to the dutch press. his attitude stank. he thought there was no chance of us beating Germany so he rested important players and played defensive, leaving Timmy Cahill, who is a midfielder by himself up front. the players were confused. The Australian way is to not sit back and defend everything that comes at you, to attack and have people to help you attack. we never believed in Verbeek because he had no ambition and tactically was shithouse!

  • you need to watch the entire interview and hear what Craig Johnston has to say. world game .com

  • people should know by now that Craig is a very passionate Australian. he is a supporter as well as an analyst, and we should expect that he will always be outspoken about issues to do with Australia, and will always give his honest view on what needs to be impoved, that doesn't mean he is aspiring to be the manager, but he is a critic just like the rest of us.

  • craig , step up and coach your team man.

it took two dutchman twice to get your team in the wc twice . why didnt you do that , concidering you know it all .

my advice craig ; stay on your island , there yr considered a expert , in europe you would be an amatuer . fuckface

  • actually craig is 100% correct. the tactics that were enforced upon the players in this game were ridiculous. the attitude that Verbeek had of going into this game was "there is no way we can win, lets play defensive". it stinks. i was never convinced by Verbeek to begin with. i thought he was a manager who was just out to get results, he was never ambitious and in after the German game the players lost faith in him and went about things on their own.

  • pim redeemed himself

  • Craig Foster, what a joker. Talks on TV like a frustrated child who's lost his candybar. Better STFU and don't talk BS like this! If you like it or not, the way Australia plays at this moment is football like it used to be play with players of this caliber. If you play against a team like Germany witch is much and much stronger, you can't play offensive because the difference in quality is just to big.

  • People might think that this is a rant from Fozzie but weigh that up against 90 minutes in front of the world of total bullshit from the Australian side against Germany. Who is going to take responsibility for that?

I couldn't believe my eyes watching the game. All I was thinking was, "How can this be happening?"

  • WTF did Foster want !? He wants to undermine the coach's authorithy? Where did he come from? Does he really think they didn't want to fight the Germans? Please, dont forget the Germans are quiet good *understatement*. Foster should have looked at the team. They where pissed in a good way. They backed their coach and now in the 2nd game they showed what they wanted.

Please Craig Foster, you really weren't much of a player and your tactics didn't make you famous. And PV made good quali!

  • Why on earth did the Socceroos go into their shell after scoring the first goal against Ghana. They should have kept on the attack for the whole game. The best method of defense is attack and they had Ghana on the back foot.

Australia needs serious management around the team when they are playing a World Cup. If they want to be taken serious by the world and they want serious results then they need to get serious about their managment of the team. A technical comittee would be a good start.

  • fucking hate him. honestly, i can't wait til his contract's done and we move one to someone half-decent

  • bring a committee in? wtf? this is like pre-war England. Is that guy serious? I don't think Verbeek is a good coach either but then again what does he have to work with? The quality simply isn't there.

  • however i don't agree with this 'commitee' idea. maybe to pick a manager. but you can't have a manager having to justify his selections and tactics to a commitee every game he plays, who would accept that job? just pick a manager, give him a chance to show what he can do and, if he isn't doing the job, give him the boot. you have to say, this manager won the qualifying group for australia so that's hard to criticise

  • it's not the players. look at france for an example of what bad leadership does to a team, no matter how good the individual players are. whereas on the other hand look at how decent players responded to good leaderhip and tactics when guus hiddink managed south korea 2002 and australia 2006.

  • I want to know what Pim was thinking with his entire squad selection. Playing to lose or draw aint the Aussie way. Why no McDonald who has scored at every world cup level he has played at, but is denied the chance here? Why no speed with Carle or Carny? Why all this "he is fit" "he isnt fit" crap with Kewell? Where are the Aussies who'll put their bodies on the line, cmon guys hammer these arrogant Ghana goons tonight!

  • tell him fozzie!

  • I accept the frustration and agree with it, small problem, the concept is completely flawed. it makes the role of the coach redundant. either you have a coach or a "tech commitee".

  • Fire up!!!!

  • 2M smackeroos for managing a football team?? geezus ... I would expect more even if you were earning 70K or something.

  • Foz is the man. He knows what he's talking about. I say Foz should be the coach or someone like him who has an emotional passionate love for the socceroos and the game. Instead of hiring some foreigner who gets paid big bucks and has no idea on the way Australia plays our football. Sack him and put in an Aussie veteran that knows what he's doing.

  • At least Foz is telling it like it is. Can you believe any of the bull that Verbeek has said during his entire time as coach? Sad fact is coaches don't want to travel the world organising Australia, we should base all lead up games in Europe and use local guys for games against Asian competition.

  • Fozzie...pleeeease...think about what you say before you say it. Don't let passion get in the way of common sense. Sure, Pim's tactic v Germany didn't work. But, to send in the 'old crew' and question the Manager's decision before a game AND go against it if they don't like it??? That's just plain ridiculous. What would have happened to Maradona if that could happen? Look at Maradona and Argentina now. Let's see what happens after campaign is over and use our heads to fix the problem.

  • @cptrubberpants i disagree with you 100%. Before Foz came out and actually said this i was thinking the same thing that there should be people reviewing what the coach is doing. Even my mum said isn't there Australian's overlooking what these international coaches are doing. There's the possibility of corruption and football (soccer) has a strong history of corruption.

I agree with Foz 100%, that we should employee international coaches but they should be overlooked by an Australain committee.

  • Aurelio Vidmar should be the coach after Pim Verbeek has gone. Aurelio coaches with an European type of approach and he has done extremely well with what he had to put up with at Adelaide United. He is our best hope of beeing the most successful Australian coach to lead the Socceroos IMO.

  • @crouchy2010 I agree, and we wouldn't have to waste millions on a coach who has never been to the world cup.

  • Craig Foster knows that you cant trust anyone in this game. There is always the possibility that Pim Verbeek sent out the weakest team on purpose. Notice how buddy-buddy Pim was with the German coach after the game??? He was more interested in shaking his hand and giving him a cuddle than winning the game.

  • @spielberg01... But he didn't send out the weakest team, did he? He essentially sent out our best 11, with the exception of an unfit Kewell, Kennedy, and arguably Bres. Pim's strategy was clear to see: try to contain and hope Tim could pop up with a goal to either win or draw the match. He played with his customary 2 holding midfielders, moved Culina to the left (likely to slow down Lahm) and brought in the industrious Garcia to harry the German defenders. He was hardly trying to throw the game.

  • @briggm you call that our best 11? Taking only 3 strikers to Sth Africa. What a joke.

  • You have to love Craigh Foster. He tells it like it is.

  • Haha, I'm still laughing at Foster's "send some captains in there" rubbish. What a ridiculous twat.

  • @briggm Are you english what is with the twat crap. Anyway he means send in some captains to scrutinize pims decisions.

  • @thermalz0mbie... I'm not English, I live in England. Anyway, I understand what Foster meant - what I'm saying is that it's a stupid idea. No coach in the world would work under those conditions and nor should they. There's a good reason why teams aren't run that way, and that's because it's an unworkable situation.

What would lead anybody to believe that a committee comprised of Foster, Tobin, Okon, Vidmar, Horvat etc are in any way qualified to devise strategy at the top level of the game?

  • you the man Fozz!!! With Pim on $2million pa, we would assume that one would restrategize after the NZ, denmark and USA games, so we'd have a respectable performance against Germany!!! Playing anyone solo upfront is useless for us! Last world cup it was all about crossing in from the wings. ps. Neil said the players dont even know if they're on the team until match day. WTF?? How's a team supposed to function like that? If we lose against ghana, do we get a refund?

  • I agree with Foz 100%. What's he doing working for the SBS, he should be coaching the Australian team. I bet you Australia would go close to winning a world cup if he was coach.

  • Thanks for putting up the video on youtube missed it live holly crap and I agree with every word foster said.

  • Pim Verbaked (Marijuana is legal in Holland right?) is good enough to coach the Moroccan youth team but not a national team at a world cup. The only thing that he has in common with Hiddink is that they are both Dutch. It was a disastrous decision to hire Verbeek in the first place. Australia don't have a team with the stars like Buffon, Maicon, Xavi, Messi or Rooney- they need a WORLD CLASS coach to compensate and Verbeek is not one of them. I said Australia would lose 5-0 to Germany for months

  • Wrong you arrogant cunt, if NZ (a team with amateurs in their ranks) are good enough to get something out of the game against Slovakia, then Australia are good enough to get something out of the game against Germany. In the last World Cup we dominated in games against Brazil and Italy, if we could do it then we can do it now, but not by playing a 4-6-0 formation we wont.

  • I don't think I've ever had less respect for a manager than I currently have for Pim Verbeek and that includes Steve Staunton at his worst. It's not his lack of quality that annoys me it's more his utter lack of care for how Australia performs and his TOTAL lack of belief in the team:

"Germany are better than us, that is why we lost, ... See moreAustralians are crap at football, just like the Koreans. The problem with them is that they just don't get that they're not good enough."

  • this guy should stop talking about football and get back to milking his kangeroo

  • I have to say that i don't agree with sacking a coach 1 game into a world cup but you have to love Fozzie's love for his country and his passion for the Aussie shirt!

  • I think Fozz has done nothing but hurt himself with that outburst.... Some truth in there, but fuck there was some rage fuelled rubbish too!

  • wanker!

  • I had concerns over Verbeek from the very start, but this is a typical nonsense rant from Foster. Sack the manager one game into a major tournament? Absurd. Send in a group of former captains (wtf?) to completely undermine the manager? Ridiculous.

And how about that wonderfully melodramatic "die on our feet rather than live on out knees" moment! lol You're not William Wallace, Craig.

  • wanker!

  • Fozzy gets easily distraught, but you cannot deny that Verbeek did a shithouse job for us. after the Germany game, i honestly don't think he was the reason the lads went on to stay 1-1 with Ghana with 10 men, and to knock out Serbia in the last game. he isn't the worst coach we have ever had, but i think that when he found out what group we were in, he thought "buggar it, i got them to the world cup, i won't make the effort to try and get us results because no one expects us to get through".

  • Craig Foster, spot on it's exactly how we feel as Australian supporters. The warning signs were there during qualification, verbeek does not get the best out of our player

  • Agree 100% well spoken

  • Spot on. A thousand times SPOT ON!

  • I didn't think Pim the Fake could get any worse. Good luck to the Morrocco under 12s or wherever it is that he is going to coach after putting us through this misery. Good luck to the boys in the next games, to the coach : go choke on a pancake.

  • @unhinged1980s

Craig Foster, what a joker.
