Your suggestion that "it takes some to make some" does not apply to everything and is just another elitist attitude. They are supplementing rail service with tax dollars just to break even because if they raise the fares people would stop riding and there would be congestion. @bubbamax1 Are you suggesting that high speed rail would not solve a lot of our problems? When we had our first major oil crisis back in the 70s, Europe reacted with high speed rail. Look how successful that has been for them? We are still stuck in cars. In areas that do have a rail system (Chicago, Bay Area, etc) it is extremely successful and widely used. Also, it saves people money. It takes money to make money and, in this case, it will take some to save some.
