  • The comment made about Jerry keeping money. Snopes and enter your question. 'Does Jerry Lewis keep a significant portion of the funds raised during the annual MDA Labor Day Telethon?'. You will get your answer. In short, 'No'.

  • At 1:03 Jerry's face looks massive! Why is that?

  • I remember the backyard carnival kits one could get to make money for the cause.

  • For years in my youth I was a confused soul. My mother's cousin was named Jerry Lewis. For some reason I have a weird kindred to JL. But mine died of pancreatic cancer this year. Bummmer

  • He's talking about the "F" word :)

  • yah and Jerry stole over half the money that was donated, everyone sent in checks in his name so he took them, google it go check it out yourself

  • He's right about the filfth in performers. Listen to his comment. I wont repaeat it here. You hear HIM say it.

  • Jerry Lewis will forever be the KING OF COMEDY!

  • @ShawtyLikeMe2007 in your mind its shane dowson and ray willaim jhonson go fuckyourslef

  • Lewis criticizes today's supposeded comedy performers..who swear..but he praises guys like Martin Short and Robin Williams in an previous tv interview with Larry King..who also swear and acts like psychos..What A Hypocrit!

  • That was when the telethons was broadcast from "The Americana Hotel"/"The Sheriton Hotel"in NYC on WNEW TV(Now WNYW)TV Ch.5 in NYC.

  • No comedian as good as him today, just filth, cursing and garbage.

  • yes he is a genius in comedy--one of the last and best of the very best-thx for posting

  • The "FOX" interviewer is such a Jerk !!!

  • Lewis for me... NEVER was funnny. Sorry!

  • God Bless him.

  • fucking idiotic question!

  • the viewer is "entitled" to it? that is what seperates JL from great entertainers. Here in his own words, he says he's doing the audience a favor by performing. What a classless jerk. And the MDA stories are boundless, mind you

  • @makthnife give me a break

  • His voice has changed so much...

He was such a clown, I love him!

  • hm...you can see he doesnt like the interviewer...he has said sometimes he hates these narrow-minded clean cut stainless douchebags, cause they remind him of his racist principal at his school who gave him shit for being a jew...you can kind of sense his ego flaming up a bit here...in other interviews he's more mellow

  • so he doesn't like people by the way they look? F-ing jerk. I dont know of any other bigger racist than this clown

  • I'm 22 and think he's right most of todays "entertainment" is just garbage and trash.

  • thanks jerry he showed that stardom didnt come before being human

  • that interviewer was a douche - what a dumb question

  • Comment removed

  • Pain in the ass? I cannot agree with that. Genius? Depends on how one looks at him. I say God bless him.

  • Jerry had so many people around him telling him that he was a genuis and he didn't need Dean, that he began to believe it and even began to abuse Dean at the end until Dean couldn't take it anymore and left. Thats why then never really talked again. Except for a couple of times after 20 years. Jerry even admits this

  • @bluegsp I don't know why your comment had so many negatives, but it is true. tho dean had his own camp telling him he doesn't need jerry, that he would sky rocket solo.

  • @chgw01 When people get wrapped up in "idol worship", they forget that these entertainers are just people like everyone else, with all the human flaws that the rest of us have. Jerry was tremendously ambitious with a giant ego. Dean on the other hand was a bit lazy with an indifferent attitude (basically, the character you saw on screen was Dean, sans the booze) which was as important to his success as his voice.

  • I would really want to know why everyone calls him arrogant?

  • I mean, he is great, sorry if I wrote wrong

  • thank you so much, I love Jerry Lewis, he is such amazing

  • He's not arrogant!

  • He's arrogant yes, but he's entitled to be.

  • can anyone tell me the name of the show at 0:40, please?

  • That was from Telethon 1997 I am certain, hour 6 I believe.

  • Im sorry i dont see the arrogance PLEASE XPLAIN!!!

all i see is a genuine human being look outside the box.

  • He used to be very talented, but as someone who's no one now, he should try to sound a little less arrogant.

  • He's Jerry Lewis. he doesn't have a reason to sound less arrogant :) I don't think there are many people that lived superstar life like he has.

  • Again, Lewis was something amazing from early in his career till about the 1970s, but, since then, he's become more and more just the "Labor-Day Telethon Guy." A little humility might not be the worst thing for him to don, but, whatever.

  • I don,t think Jerrys Fake, hes just an amazing person no b-s

  • such a Nebbish!

  • Thanks Jerry!

  • i love jerry lewis

  • I like watching "The Telethon"! He is a great humanitarian!

    LadyViewer

  • Thank you for showing this interview with Jerry, I love his honesty. I'm sick to death of the negative CRAP people throw around about Jerry. He is a true legend. oh, and in reply to "leftyking500"? The 'Age thing' plays no part - It's like maths, you either get it or you don't.....

  • i agree with you 100 percent. i dedicated a video to jerry lewis. its called randalls interviews-jerry lewis

  • Brilliant man

  • I don't find is acts funny..must be an age thing, probably for those around that time it was funny.

  • No. It just means your not very bright.

  • LOL@Gnillob802

just checked your channel..lol...that coming from a sexually frustrated twat, what a loser..lol..so Jerry Lewis is the final authority on IQ in your part of the world?..LMAO!..no wonder your channel is full of WANKING material.lol

  • You seem to have a comprehension problem. I wasn't saying Jerry Lewis had a high IQ. I was saying you had a low one.

  • @Gnillob802

LMAO! Mate, I understood what you meant. I'm pretty sure you have no clue what I meant by "so Jerry Lewis is the final authority on IQ in your part of the world" in my previous post...not only are you a pervert, you're also a DUMBASS.

  • I stand by my previous comment.

  • LMAO! of course you would mate, you do not have a clue do you? I assumed you understood basic english..LOL

  • do u always look at peoples channels to find something to snap at them about, grow up man, thats sad!

  • like imashotty just said, it's either you like it or you don't. All I said was I didn't find his acts to be as funny as some people make them out to be, whats wrong with saying that? JL claimed to be the funniest men in the world on FOX NEWS, he also claimed comedy as gone down the drain once he stepped out of the scene, I DISAGREE as I found his acts DULL.

  • so why do u have to tell everyone, if u dont like it dont watch it, and jerry was named the king of comedy (not by himself) and yes comedy has gone down the drain since he stepped out, comedy thes days is "sex, drugs, and swearing", thats not something to laugh about, jerry was funny without making sick jokes about things that are meant to be private, and thats the very reason why u dont think hes funny, coz hes not sickminded and perverted like u

  • "so why do u have to tell everyone, if u dont like it dont watch it"

are you blind or dislexic? I said I didn't find his act funny, I didn't say I didn't like to watch him act nor did I say I didn't like him, It's nothing personal, just not for me...there is a difference..watching a fully grown man/old timer act like a 5yr old maybe comedy for some but it will take more then that to get a laugh out of me...there is a reason why his type of comedy died out long time ago..

  • dude, try making some sense, u either like him for his comedy or u dont like him at all, and wat event in ur life mad u too cool to laugh, lighten up man, jerry lewis is funny

  • mate, lets just agree to disagree...we've both wasted each others time discussing JL...you think his funny, I don't..lets leave it at that.

  • The 'Age thing' plays no part - It's like maths, you either get it or you don't.....

  • you are right :)) Jerry 4 ever!!

  • Jerry Lewis is the master of comedy. Martin and Lewis were amazing!!

  • I'm confused on his age. He said he was 86 in 2007 and the interviewer says hes 81. How old is he?

  • A Genius!

  • Robin Williams doesn't use 4-letter words in his act? Puh-LEASE!

  • God the Media is embarassing..pure and simple.

  • absolutely a genius. brilliant, brilliant gentle-man.

  • The host is very funny. I think he basically just crawled out from under a rock to ask him such a stupid question. That takes the prize for being the worst interview of all time.

  • "Very interesting experience" coming from the dolt hosts. I don't think those hosts have the slightest clue as to how much of a legend Jerry is.

  • The King of Comedy!

  • jer's lost a lot of weight. good for him.

  • What I'd really like to see is for the MDA to put out a Jerry highlight reel DVD from ALL the telethons and put all the proceeds to the charity (obviously). I would pay quite a bit for something like that, being a collector.

  • this person below me is ABSOLUTELY right aalll the waay

  • Jerry is a genius, his amazing career has made him an absolute legend. His heart has a huge amount of love for those kids & I'm sure God has a very special place for him after this life.Entertainment today? Well there isn't much when you see the tremendous talent that came out of those early days of Movies/TV. Thats what makes Jerrys (& others)so wonderfully unique. His Movies still stand up today & will forever more. Swearing is not comical or clever. It has no qualities. Luv U Jerry!

  • JIM CARREY IS GOD COMEDY MORE FROM Jerry THE KING

  • Jerry Lewis is a Genius. Albert is a genius. Newton is a genius. Why not jerry? Did ablert or Newton make so many people happy? Difficult to compare. Yes jerry lewis, in his field, is a genious.

  • He love Robin Williams just as much as i do!!

  • He's a shell of his former self.

  • jerry looks like a million dollars...green and wrinkled.

  • You will too someday; God willing.

  • Jerry is amazing! One of the few living legends!

  • lol "a genius" wow, what an answer. God love Jerry Lewis! i'm proud to say that thanks to my parents who grew up in that 50's era, i'm very aware and knowledgable of Mr. Lewis' work and think of him as one of the greatest entertainers in all of history. =)

  • In france we don't see video of jerry, i had the chance when i was young to live in ireland !

    Thanks to making us laugh.

  • I love Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe. Just wish I could have met them before they died. And Jerry, well chances are I wont meet him either. But he's the BEST!

  • Jerry is a classic forever. I love you so much Jer. Gosh, it is incredible how much Jerry loves those kids! He is such a blessing.

  • that's my birthday sep 2!

  • Thank you for posting this interview. I love Jerry Lewis. He's my absolute FAVOURITE comedian!

  • Well, he surely is a very good human being spending his time and money to help sick kids! I wish we had more people like him in the world!

  • Interesting enough. Very candid.

  • I don't think Greg asked "the dumbest question in the world." He was asking Jerry to describe himself, just in a different way. Also there must be many young people out there who don't even know who Jerry is.

  • But there are many who do :)

  • You don't consider "Nutty Proffesor" to be a classic comedy? To me, he is the funniest man alive. I will always consider him a comic first!

  • No, I never cared for his type of humor- it seemed sophmoric to me. But I agree, he was a brillinat comic- to those who love him in that arena.

I think, five years after his death, Jerry Lewis will be MOST remembered for his humanitarian work, just like Bob Hope. But I am glad that he has shared his talent with the masses for decades.

  • @damone77 Your'e damn right! You Tell Em!

  • Thank you for posting that! Greg Kelly did a nice job recovering from "the dumbest question you've ever heard", LOL. You can take all those silly things Jerry Lewis did on film and toss them in a closet. That telethon will be his legacy.
