I have seen the film, here in Denmark. The film is very populare here everyone have seen it. The film had a good story, but there was some few things that wasn't correct, and everyone was upset about it, it's the chapter when a pashton guy rapes the hazara boy, Hassan.

And i am glad that they havn't let the movie been seen in Afghanistan.

it's spelt Pashtuns, by the way... and he doesn't hate them, the novel just gives an outsider the understanding of the country's state, the Pashtuns were in control of Afghanistan for some 200+ years, it was the Hazara's who were sadly oppressed.

I dunno ... I read A Thousand Splendid Suns (it is by the same author), and it was really good but I thought that Kite Runner was still a lot better. As opposed to KR, which is from a male perspective, TSS has female narrator/protagonists, and I thought the author didn't do so well capturing a female voice. It's still really good, though, and has a very different take on the Russian invasion of Afghanistan than KR.
