  • That looks delicious! I've tried a Costco boneless pork shoulder cooked in a CookShack elecrtric smoker oven using apple wood chunks. Soaking the pork in apple juice and onions for at least 24 hours before smoking adds complexity to the final flavors. Then I mix the pulled pork with my BBQ Sauce for Amateurs and voila! the best pulled pork sandwich in Silicon Valley. Thanks for a great video!

  • taste matters.. coal' wood steel

  • my name is hank hill, I sell propane and propane accessories.

  • why put the grate side lids down just so you can put them up and down every time you add coals?

  • I have two YouTube screen names if you're wondering.

  • I'm saying "mop." It's a standard BBQ mop. Check out grilling24x7 website for my recipe for the mop solution.

    No maple syrup! :-)

  • Are you spraying it with maple syrup?

I just couldn't tell if you were saying maple or mopple. (sorry, I'm British, it takes me a while to understand some American pronunciations)

  • the method you are referring to is the "minion method"

  • What a beauty! I am attempting this as we speak...wish me luck!

  • To Each His Own!There's No One Right Way To Do Anything!

  • love the video .Thats the way i BBQ enjoy and have fun

  • ive been looking at the weber performer but as far as cost charcoal vs propane. how does this one work out? seems a lot of charcoal is used compared to propane. im talking long term money

  • Forget the cost - it's the taste that matters. Gas is for girls.

  • looks great i love that grill

  • I purchased a grill like this a couple months ago and LOVE it!!! I have had electric and gas grills before but always wanted to go back to charcoal. I have never used a better grill than this!! I tried 2 beef roasts for the 4th, did them like you did here and they turned out Fantastic!! The only thing I added was a pan of water to set over the coals to help with humidity so it would not dry out so bad.

  • our family has the same weber except ours is blue it is the best grill i've ever owned i use it about 2-3 times a week you should make more videos on grilling

  • i just bought this grill. i havent had a chance to try it out yet. i have had expensive gas grills before, but never an expensive charcoal grill. the grill that the performer is replacing, is a $35 grill. it cooks like a champ. the performer is 10 times the cost. so im anxious to find out how well a grill of this price will cook.

  • How many pieces of coal per side did you use throughout?

  • What's in the mop? Never done this before but just bought 6lb. butt and wanna give it a go.

  • You can't give up on the back and forth so early. You can't rush perfection

  • Sweeet Butt .. .How was your draft??

  • Hey guys, a lot of effort when all you really need is the "GrillnBarrel" to do the job, 5 # charcoal-4 hrs an nothing is burnt you chop all the meat into you dinner...with this Grill you watch the game not the Grill...check it out...Major

  • There are no shortcuts with BBQ. Low and slow. 4 hours is way too short for authentic BBQ.

  • @scooterthecocker Amen! Low and slow is the only way to go.

  • Nice video. What do you season the butt with at the beginning, if anything?

  • Just any basic BBQ rub. Google will turn up plenty.

  • mesquite on pork butt?!

  • I just bought this grill! Looks great, nice smoke ring! If u really like smoking u should really buy a Weber Smokey Mountain. I smoked 2 pork shoulder for 16 hrs and never had to add charcoal, using the minion method. Its definately worth it
