  • lol CO is great. what is your basis for saying this game isnt good? because you suck at making costumes? because you suck at the game in general? because its not focused on PVP (which no mmo should be)? which invalid reason do you have? lol

  • @fmmetamc NO MMO SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON PVP BECAUSE PVP IS FOR NERDS AND REAL PROS KILL RETARDED BOTS ALL DAMN DAY LONG

  • @fmmetamc fuck you

  • @SinisterZX actually retarded people replace virtual accomplishments for actual accomplishments ;)

bots cannot be retarded, they posses no intelligence with which to apply said retardation.

jackass: "i just pwnd that noob with my toon (notice use of the word toon instead of character, to indicate the person not making a character, only a TOON) that's made to pwn noobs. im so not a loser, and skilled, and making good use of my time in life." lol

  • @fmmetamc You know, there's really not much point in an MMO of any sort if it doesn't involved PVP, for the simple fact that there are tons of better and cheaper offline RPGs for PVE content, such as Dragon Age. It has nothing to do with accomplishments, but rather the fact that playing a multi-player game without real player competition and PAYING FOR IT EVERY MONTH is totally pointless, especially as offline games have better mechanics and stories than any MMO, especially Champions Online.

  • @SinisterZX when did i say mmo's shouldnt involve pvp? i said they shouldnt be FOCUSED on it.

  • @fmmetamc I think they should build primarily around PVP and then use similar elements in PVE, simply because it's a multiplayer game. It's also a lot more interesting when the players have actual power, with examples of MMOs that follow this trend being EVE Online and Haven & Hearth. Neither of these are particularly appealing or outstanding and have numerous flaws, but they use a lot of nice concepts which I would like to see used in next-generation MMOs.... unlikely to happen, though.

  • @fmmetamc I am not OPPOSED to PVE content though, the ability to play co-op is always fun, but grinding through X number of stupid NPCs to achieve a stupid quest goal over and over is a huge flaw that a lot of games seem to repeat.

  • @SinisterZX only thing worse than PvE is PvP

  • @fmmetamc Keep in mind that this is not an argument AGAINST MMO games, but rather the extreme focus on games that are easy, low-brow entertainment yet cost a lot of money every month and have no real development in the game universe itself. This is why a lot of shitty WoW-clone MMOs falter and die in a relatively short amount of time, because people play it like a traditional offline game and 'beat' it, so they have nothing to go back for. Also, 'character' vs 'toon' is a pretty stupid argument.

  • @SinisterZX im so tired of everything being a comparison to wow. lol.

character vs toon is not a stupid argument, petty yes, but not stupid. and its valid, just as valid as the people that say story is important, in response to jackasses who say it's not. (im not sayin you said that)

  • @fmmetamc It's being compared to WoW because IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME. The controls are the same, the combat system is the same, the enemies are just as dumb and the quests/missions just as lame. A bunch of people whined at me to try WoW. I didn't like it. It was mind-numbing. Most recent MMOs seem to follow the same pattern, including this.

Character versus toon is pointless because they are two interchangeable terms. Most older people use 'toon', supposedly it originates from an older MMO.

  • @fmmetamc I actually thought Champions Online had an alright character creation process, though it felt a bit limited which might have been a result of me only playing a trial, but when it came to the actual gameplay I found it to be sub-par, dull and boring, being too much of a WoW-clone from the start to be worth any significant time investment. It's just plain not good enough to be worth it in the long term, and as an example Ultimate Spider-Man is a better experience for a "hero-game".

  • @SinisterZX wait...you assessed it on the TRIAL?!!??! hahahahahahahahahahahaa

that's not even the game AT ALL. like AT ALL. lol

  • @fmmetamc I would assume the trial should be as inviting as possible to new players and show the BEST aspects of the game to get people hooked. I didn't like what I saw, so I trashed the game. If the 'real' game is so infinitely much better the developers clearly screwed up. That's not my fault, nor my problem.

  • @fmmetamc In the end, however, 'fandoms' are usually formed around terrible things, and I doubt there is a chance you will agree with anything I have said whether it is a legitimate reasoning or not. You can enjoy your shitty game all you want, but in the end the design focus of it seems to be too limited for it to be a lasting experience, which puts it in the same basket as the vast majority of post-WoW MMO games, labeled 'shit' for reference.

  • @SinisterZX wow=shit.

  • @fmmetamc I agree completely. It is easily one of the worst games I have ever played. My friends whined at me to play it and after a couple months of forcing myself on to see if it got better, I quit. It was even worse two months in compared to the beginning. The gameplay sucks, the quests are shit, and the community is terrible. I actually thought the graphics were alright, despite being a bit aged, but they couldn't redeem the rest of the game.
