akaNadik: I'd like to help you out here. You are absolutely right when you claim that this not beautiful in any sence of being harmonized as we westerners are used to. But let me point out that It is not about harmony. It is about conflict - or to be more precise - gearing up to fight. This is often listen to when warming up before a fight, a ritual of sorts. I would'nt like to listen to a soothing song by Michael Jacksson before a fierce Thai boxing fight. This would be my choice, no doubt.

1. shadow boxing for first round

2. 30 second break for drink

3. press ups, sit ups, star jumps for second round

4. 30 second break

5. remainder of shadow boxing for third round

There's only one pitch at a time. Everything is in melody. Depending on your idea of complex, this can be seen as complex, sure. But think about it: it's traditional music for fights, which means it's a probably drunk guy blowing on a horn and wailing his fingers around whilst two people beat the shit out of each other.
