the acoustic version of this song is swell too.. a little different but the dude sings it really well... the vocal effects aren't added and he fills it out in a major way... the solo part sounds a little weird (in the acoustic) and i think the singer giggles a bit about it,,,,, this video is so inspiring i want to know who directed it

I've met Robert. He's about the shyest person I've ever met. It was at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in about 2002, and I'd won a chance to go to the "Meet and Greet" before the gig, through local 3D Radio.

I felt sorry for him. There were about 20 of us, and he was really uncomfortable, and I wished he hadn't been made to do it. He even apologised, and said he's fine on a stage before 5000 people, but not meeting people.

He had an aura, though. Very cool guy. Powerful presence.

I've heard Robert was really, really shy when he was young, although some of the videos from their early punk years seems to suggest otherwise (they probably had a bit to drink now and then before making public appearances though...). It's funny how he has kept up such a conspicuous look over the years, despite his shyness. Like he's hiding behind it, possibly hoping people will be too intimidated to come up and talk to him, making him uncomfortable. :)

Well, booshxbitch, it turns out that it was earlier than I thought. They played Adelaide on Oct 12 2000 as part of the Dream tour. Bloodroses was the latest album.

It was weird to see a big stage, and only one mike.

One thing that struck me when I met him was that he didn't look old enough. I first heard the Cure in 1979, and I was 16 then, so I knew he was older than me, but he looked about the same age. He's not. He'll be fifty next year.
