i can't find this song no where... it won't come up on itunes.. any suggestions? im not all that computer smart. but i love my songs, and 100's of waylon but i want this'un and can't find it
Waylon seemed to have a gift for picking a song, and then singing it in a way that bring out the meaning more than the words alone would. Some very talented song-writers wrote songs for him, but Waylon was the one who chose his songs, once he went "outlaw"
A great song from a great album. Too bad it is so hard to find this album. They should get around to rerelease it. One of my favorite storytelling songs!
Makes my heart hurt to listen to this one, of all his songs, i believe this one is my favorite, and I have a lot of favorites by him. Heard my first Waylon song when I was 10 years old and 46 years later still my favorite singer.
modern country music sucks as bad ad this other rap crap but my cousin sang his soul out to tell a story in his songs there is another one he did not write but he put his soul in it ----- turn the page
The Jackson Hole of today is not the same as it was in 1981 when a 28yr old woman fell in love with a 49yr old man and traveled from WV to WY camping all the way because he wanted to marry her in the tiny chapel at the base of the Grand Tetons. They attended the evening service, had their rings blessed by the priest and then wa told no, they couldn't marry there. The Bishop was afraid it would turn into a Las Vegas type place. But the man, being ever so resourceul, did not give up.
I can see that particular chapel in my mind's eye, saw it almost 30 years ago. You look out onto the peaks from the back door. There is nothing like it.
i love this song and havint heard it in years my dad use to play it at gigs but i never knew where he heard it but it must have been waylon he loved the HOSS
when i was a kid i recorded this off the radio and played it on my walkman all the time lol i loved to ride my horse while this was playing. the beat of the horse and the beat of this song match perfectly! going from a trot to a gallop... ahh this brings back so many memories of being a kid growing up in the woods :)
man what a song! this has to be one of waylons best. this is whats so great about old country music, no other music can tell this kind of story. and waylon has more talent in one finger than anyone going today.

This is a great song. Not to sound racist but it explains the true way of American life before the colored started to ditroy our way of life.
