where have you been all your life , most Regiments have there own bands , most army do , navy , does , so it would follow to reason the RAF would too more for show nower days but the bands paly a very big role in every day lives of the Regiments , the foot soilders would follow a drum , bugle , or the bagpipes into battle serves as a rallying point if they are ever needed , just look them up the marines , the guards , for the queens b.day
