Hi.

I want to install xp on my x101 too. I want to do it using a USB installer. I ve mounted XP iso on my pendrive, and there is my problem. There is no USB option in BIOS boot menu. How ve u installed your XP? Did u have this problem? Can u help me?

to boot from the usb you will need to make sure quiet boot is disable from the bios menu under boot configuration. after this is finished you will need to hit the escape button as you boot up the netbook to see the boot options (make sure the usb is plugged in as you're doing this). From there you choose to boot from USB. if you need any more help let me know.

for the xp drivers on this netbook I used the same drivers that the Eee PC 1001PX (Seashell) requires. It works the same. also if I'm not mistaken to install xp on this unit you will need to create and iso with nlite that includes SATA drivers (not so sure about this one).

@weedofdeath thank u very much. I already found a sound driver at asustreiber(dot)de. But i couldnt find a driver for W-LAN. I went to the page u recommended but when i search there for "x101" it doesnt find anything. Can u please tell me what to search for , or how to find the right driver? Thanks a lot!

@weedofdeath 10 pages of drivers is quite a lot. Would you mind sharing exactly which ones you used that worked on the X101? Obviously, we're looking for audio (already shared) and Wifi. Touchpad, VGA, and hotkeys would also be nice. How about a chipset, is there one that works on the X101? Did you just use everything from the 1000ha? I want to do this same thing you did, very cool! For installing WinXP you need Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) driver. It can be downloaded from Intel web site. Good luck :)

search for "How To Slipstream SATA Drivers Into XP CD"

and then use slimdrivers and that worked for me

@jermymiller windows xp runs same, just use smaller version and sata drivers while installing. my win xp starts in 30sec, shutdown takes about 8sec.

yea, i did it too, intalled win xp mini, and whole drivers, didn't used sound wolume hotkeys, couse used original asus atk driver. also installed asus SHE, too control performance
