I am so glad I understand math. This guy is ultimitely boring. if anybody sees this and actually needs help with an algebra question, feel free to send me a message. :) if I see it I'd be happy to help...I'm in Calculus right now, by the way, and algebra is my best area of math.
in video algebra part 1 where he makes the 2 y into 1 by canceling out 1 of them and addn to the other 1 then from there do everything he did from video part 1 =)
Show your work! Saxen and a very good teacher taught me this. What is done to one side must be applied to the other. K.I.S.S. rule of mathematics-keep it simple stupid!
all algebra 2 is expanding on algebra 1 concepts. like in algebra 1 i learned how to graph lines, in algebra 2 i learned how to graph absolute value interger lines. but the majority isnt that much harder than algebra 1.
Yay math is better

how did you get (y+5)(y+2) out of y2-3y-10?
GOSHIN19 1 year ago
5y-25 = 13-3y-6
Simplify this to 5y-25 = 7-3y
Add 3y to both sides to get 8y-25 = 7
Add 25 to both sides to get 8y = 32
Divide both sides by 4 to get y = 4
THAT IS HOW YOU GET FOUR.
theneonfire 1 year ago 2
@theneonfire
I think you meant to divide both sides by 8 (not 4) to get y=4
aggiekate88 10 months ago
@aggiekate88 Yes, lol.
theneonfire 10 months ago
5(y-5)=13-3(y+2)
then you distribute 5 and -3
wich is
5y-25=13-3y-6
then you find the solution wich is 4
How do you get 4
5*4=-25
13-3*4-6=-25
and thats how you get 4
Manny159744 1 year ago 7
@Manny159744
You're supposed to collect like terms on each side of the equation.
5y - 25 = 13 - 3y - 6
5y + 3y = 13 - 6 + 25
8y = 32
y = 4

I love to learn Algebra. But it's too hard for me. I feel the pain ;-(
dmana3172 2 years ago
ALSO... in this equation, y cannot equal to -3 nor 5. Otherwise, if y equals to -3 or 5, the answer would be no solution.
ChavoMysterio 2 years ago
My mistake, it was -2, not -3.

Would someone please find the common denominator and factor the y squared, -3y -10.
Would you explain what you are doing and why you are doing it? Thank you.
seibertmj 3 years ago
y^2 - 3y - 10
(y - 5)(y + 2)
