Sorry but there is no way that maxima can beat a Lexus gs400 or a gs430 because I own a gs400. U have races many cars and especially a slow stock maxima doesn't stand a chance unless he is squeezing or done a lot of after market parts to it. I ran high 14's all day. That stock maxima (my friend has one stick shift which bolt ons) still can't barely get into the high 14's.
Stock suspension is weak and tires were pretty bald at the time but meh. No need to spend much on the DD just enough to give it the extra kick it needs.

That Lexus is obviously a GS300. Listen to the audio. Do you hear a V8? My '01 GS430 is stock but when it revs you can clearly tell it's a V8. Now look at the speedo and the time. It took them 19 seconds (from 3 to 22) and they didn't even hit 100 mph. In 19 seconds my 430 would be well above 100 mph. Tests have shown they run at least 98 mph in the 1/4 @ around 14.3 seconds. Maximas have always been quick. Respect that. But this race is obviously between two 6 cylinders.
Nah it's definitely a 430. My parents have a 2003 es300 and that car is around the same weight as the gs. The pick up in that car sucks. If this was a gs300 then the max would have killed this car unmodded. But the car in this is video is definitely a 430 because the Max isn't walking it and towards the end u'll the see the lex start to even out. first all maximas run good exspecially when there 5 speed. this guy maxima was tuned and he ran a stock 3900lb gs430. the video is right but if you pay attention you will see that about at 90-100mph the lexus stopped his pull and if the video continued you whould of saw the 430 start to leave the max. but the max is running nice for the modds but there is no replace meant for displacement.

the gs is a 2003. The maxima last year at the track ran high 13's something like 13.7. untuned. Very impressive. surprises alot of people. A true sleeper.

I raced the 09 Maxima in my GS400 and it could not keep up. Did a quick run again at the light and dusted him again. Stock for stock my GS400 goes to 60 in 5.7 sec....that year maxima in this vid 0-60 was no were near that...and the max in the video was not even the V6 model. He most have done something to the engine. I have raced much faster and powerful cars then this maxima..including a my friends 550i BMW

the new maxima gets to 60 in 6 flat and runs low 14s in the 1/4 it will be right with ur GS if not ahead of it the GS430s only have 10 more hp then the maximas but are over 400lbs heaver than it, thats alot of wieght and the CVT transmissions are not exactly slouches these days, stop underestimating cars outside of ur GS
Actually with the CVT the new Maximas are dogs under about 35 mph, but then they fly. The quickest stock 7th gen maxima is 13.80's all day..so yeah it would pull a GS no problem, Toyota4life is wrong, plain as day.

What do you mean by ECU on that maxima? SO basically he's got what.. an A/F ratio tune? higher compresson? Emanage? because if he had like a greddy emanage or equiv. he'd probably beat that lexus Way more, espically if he already has exhaust (assuming it's not like a 3" pipe or anything) and intake..
ECU won't affect your CR mate, your timing and fuel injection for sure but not compression ratio. Maximas are heavily underestimated as performance cars...even in stock form the 5-speed (or 6-speed if you're lucky) is a real destroyer.
oh i know - ecu is only really good for af tuning and rev limiter control, and shift points if you have an automatic... Yeah they are heavily underestimated, and i doubt that's a 13's maxima, maybe low 14s - well i take that back i guess with a tune you might be able to run HIGH 13s with a REALLY good 5speed driver... now if it had the 3.5swap with 6mt then yeah - nice max tho :) love that vq
Hmm...you need to check out 'Dandymax' and 'MadVQ' - two all-motor 3.0 4th gen maximas on here. MadVQ nows live here in NZ and runs mid-13's all day. Dandymax runs (or ran - he's now going VQ35T) high-12's N/A.

Only ran high 13's w/ 100ish trap speed (On slicks of course). No BS, but could put some more attention into making this thing faster.

Honestly that's a fast maxima,beats alot of cars on the street and also surprises them. High 13's in the 1/4...you gotta be kidding me...j/k. I was there when you broke 13's. chewy we should race again..lol I have a new setup.

not sure what kind of ecu he has. but he said he got an upgraded ecu. it's a 13's maxima.

What do you mean by ECU on that maxima? SO basically he's got what.. an A/F ratio tune? higher compresson? Emanage? because if he had like a greddy emanage or equiv. he'd probably beat that lexus Way more, espically if he already has exhaust (assuming it's not like a 3" pipe or anything) and intake..

ECU won't affect your CR mate, your timing and fuel injection for sure but not compression ratio. Maximas are heavily underestimated as performance cars...even in stock form the 5-speed (or 6-speed if you're lucky) is a real destroyer.

oh i know - ecu is only really good for af tuning and rev limiter control, and shift points if you have an automatic... Yeah they are heavily underestimated, and i doubt that's a 13's maxima, maybe low 14s - well i take that back i guess with a tune you might be able to run HIGH 13s with a REALLY good 5speed driver... now if it had the 3.5swap with 6mt then yeah - nice max tho :) love that vq

Hmm...you need to check out 'Dandymax' and 'MadVQ' - two all-motor 3.0 4th gen maximas on here. MadVQ nows live here in NZ and runs mid-13's all day. Dandymax runs (or ran - he's now going VQ35T) high-12's N/A.

Yeah okay whatever bro :) i OWN a maxima i know what they can do... And unless your running really high c/o with an ungoldy tune that'll probably break your shit after one wot you MIGHT be able to run 12s in a 96 max... Even with oovi pathy throttle, headers back intake and like i said a damn good shifter.. cesear didnt even run that shit and his shit had every bolton for N/A...but like i said, whatever :)
