That's about the same time we were there....and took the Amtrak back to Minneapolis......beautiful, amazing place to visit, and Amtrak continues to be our favorite vacation travel.
@Isochest empire builder is mostly single track mainline. it has switch off tracks for freight bypass but it is mostly single, especially through montana and north dakota. rough tracks in north dakota too!!

nice video i rode the same train from east glacier to portage wis in oct 2002..more snow then...it made for a nice video..
