  • maybe you should be psychologist, you understand some things and you are like...even titles writing "The Prison in my mind" , sounds pretty like...you understand, you know some deep things or something, i can't explain in words, but you should listen yourself too from our view side :D i'm not making fun of you, I'm telling how it sounds, you're the man.

  • I DONT UNDERSTAND why u are in japan?

  • Things will get better. Continue to have faith.

  • "i'd advise you to start drinking heavily"...Bluto, animal house. Nah, actually i'd advise you just the opposite...one of the small changes could be a re-dedication to exercise/ hitting the gym. Its a great way to work things out, mentally and physically.

Tony Robbins is an interesting guy...he's worked with all kinds of people. Him and (maybe) Napolean Hill are about the only worthwhile self-help type gurus. Your video has inspired me to watch some YT Tony Robbins videos!

  • Hi Ryan. I won't repeat what many have already said. I also have been in the same boat before and I've also been in Japan for 12 years. I can relate to many of your feelings but I think you are doing fine since you've already been in Japan for 12 years. I live in Ise, which is about 2 and a half hours, maybe, from Kobe. Not too far. Subbed.

  • Ryan, I've been following your videos sometime ago and you do sound like a quite nice person. If you keep putting yourself down nothing will move forward, if you feel lonely and you feel isolated from the Japanese people, do look for foreigners like you who are living/visiting Japan. It will help change your mood a bit and think positive. I am sorry about your situation with your wife, it is quite sad though but we all wish you best of all.

  • This has helped resolve some of my personal inner turmoil, thanks Ryan :)

  • you have to take it one day at a time

  • Have you seen a picture of suzanne whitson the flat mate of karl pilkington ?? OR have you seen "An Idiot Abroad" ?? (BBC America)

  • Thank you for sharing. Please never give up... Don't get distracted by a divorce. It is just an other opportunity to explore life and this world... Change is a wonderfull thing. You should realise that what you have accoplished so far, is amazing. Take your time to reach mindfullness.. Japan is a wonderfull place to do that. Same reason I'm here. You'll meet some great people soon, find an other wife, feel complete, find inner piece... you inspire alot of people, including me. 頑張ってください。

  • Ryan stay positive. In my limited experience theres always another girl that comes into ur life you just have to wait and while your waiting work on yourself. They will gravatate toward you. Its happening in my life and you can do the same. You may not think it but your videos are very helpful for people considering staying in japan for awhile. Its in my plans. Buying Rossetta Stone this semester. Just remember your in japan:) Amazing country

  • @stevenc19771 This is a really good comment. Insightful. Thank you.

  • i think you were focusing too much on the negative side of things, you just gotta remember that you have many years ahead of you and your free to do whatever you want.

  • I'm glad to hear you're feeling a bit more upbeat! I was worried about you, Ryan.

  • pyro

  • @callum12mufc19 huh?

  • @callum12mufc19 You really don't need to post my name when I like a video. It's get a little annoying sometimes, sorry.

  • You should try dating again cause if you aren't moving to Thailand and meeting back with your wife it dosent seem like she's coming for you and I don't know here and i'm not judging but do you ever get worried she's cheating on you? Any way I could be wrong and I probably am but thats what I would do :/

  • Ryan, Great message for all of us. I'm glad your doing alright. Thank's for sharing!

    -Joe

  • Food for thought. Thanks

  • I can understand what you are going through. I went to a country by force because my dad and mum are from there. I am from Australia and currently living here. I went to another country I don't like to name and stayed there for 10 freaking years! I had to learn the language, how people are and had to study to at least pass my grades. 10 years and I hate it. I am now back in Australia and happy as ever! I can say more, but I can understand what you are going through. Stay strong and good luck :)
