My home country Taiwan provides free healthcare for all. We may not be a "real country" in the eyes of Americans, but we are among the lowest-spending countries when it comes to healthcare. What I fail to understand is how one of the most advanced countries in the world can, health-wise, fall behind a tiny unofficial country. As the commenter below me said, sort your shit out!
My home country NZ, like Australia and the UK, provides free healthcare for all. It hasn't driven us to bankruptcy as you would imagine from some of the comments here; in fact it ends up costing less. The US spends a lot more on healthcare than other countries and doesn't have a better life expectancy to show for it. The US healthcare system is far more of a financial burden on its people than a good universal healthcare system and still fails many with the greatest need. Sort your s*** out US
McCain is no patriot, he is no hero, he deserved every minute of his torture, he was part of an invasion that killed how many Americans & how many Vietnamese & Cambodians? He fire bombed innocent people 23 times!.Then what does he do as a politician? He corruptly defends Keating who had defrauded 23,000 bondholders! People think of him as a leader? Look at him here. Angry, querulous, stunned, creepy, demented, diseased. He could have been our President! The world laughs at exceptional America.
because he just heard a ton of crap being spoon fed to the american people. My employees still dont have healthcare. where is the 50% discount? obama is a liar, a motivational speaker at best. Not a leader, a leaf in the wind. Mcain is an oak tree. Love him or hate him, he isnt moving!
He did not know what he would do then and does not know what to do today. He compared $5000 to $12000 the first being the TAX CREDIT the last being the probable cost of insurance for an older person. A tax credit does not mean you have the $5000 but to just take it off your taxable income. What a Socialist, Marxist American.

His plan is very similar to hawaii's which is probably the best there is. But fucking retards kepp on comparing it to canada. Wo gives a shit about canada
i really dont get why this is such a big deal for americans, I live in england and public health care is just the norm I mean I hear stories of ppl in america who have cancer but cant get treatment cuz they have no health care ..thats shocking to me If you told a british citizen that they cant be treated it would be public outrage
What a liar President Obama is. Healthcare has passed here in the US and small businesses are going to be fined. Individuals are going to be fined if they don't use the government's program, or they go to jail!
Man, the last year and a half have aged the guy a little, haven't they? Makes you wonder what McCain would have looked like after a year and a half as prez ...
I really don't get why this is an issue. At all. Most developed counties have a public health system. Japan, were I live now, has a "public insurance" system, very similar to what Obama put forward. It it not socialist. You have to pay. The only difference is the fee is a percentage of your income and prior illnesses have no bearing.
And I don't agree with Obama on everything by the way but bringing America into the civilized world on health care is a good start..
Why does all of what Obama said during his campaign make absolutely perfect sense, and now that he is in office, everything seems very sneaky, conceited and not at all convincing as it were. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Obama, but I did so under the wrong impressions...
The amount of health care mumbo jumbo that occurs when going to USA is basically the sole reason I'd never travel there. A friend of mine who was a student in USA and supposedly had health care cover, because it was undiagnosed and the health cover only covers diagnosed was asked to pay $30000, when I was working in Thailand and got a fever, I went to a state of the art private hospital for a couple of dollars. I don't get how the richest country in the world can't work this simple thing out
@shandorejunk It's very simple why we can't. Lemme rephrase, THEY can't. I may live in this country but I don't claim to be an American at all. It's all about money. No one can do ANYTHING without whining and complaining unless there is some profit, somehow made to the higher ups in the government. Plain and simple. America's money is it's balls and the federal reserve has them clasped. And yet they still need more, more, more! I personally think we need a better solution. Simple as that.
It's funny that during the campaign Obama criticized McCain for wanting to tax health benefits, but Obama's health care law taxes employer sponsored plans at a rate of 40 percent. A hypocrite and a fool. Quite possibly the worst President in American history. Definitely the worst President in my lifetime. All signs point to one term and out.
how can so call poor move forward when its hard on them even when its there fault i think they are the hardest worker and look for the so call american dreams when noone give a chance to move forward ..while richer are getting rich and the poor being stomp on still looking 4 better ways white black latino asia watever
Funny how different nations view health care differently. Take the US and Australia. In the US people scream 'Communism' at the mention of starting universal health care. In Australia people scream 'Fascism' at the mention of ending universal health care. The amazing thing is that both groups of people fit into the same category in terms of lifestyle, income, political philosophy.
@Realfoxhawk ending universal healthcare would actually be a step away from fascism/communism as there would be less resources allocated at the discretion of central planners. Something like half or maybe more of the US's GDP is controlled by the government, which is already absolutely atrocious considering the already huge number of taxpayer dependent government employees there are. Little about the US is free. Its just about what type of tyranny you want with big gov.
@parquar I wonder how much peoples perceptions do play a part though. I am amazed at how high you guys are taxed and there lies the problem I think. I guess that wont change without massive tax reform which would have to be accompanied by massive cuts to spending budgets. Would your states stand for losing their taxes? If it happened then something like a 1% tax on income above standard income tax for health care is not so much of a problem as people are not being slugged by endless taxes.
Amazing how some short years ago, prior to governent involvement, creation of monopolies by government force, and banning of sales across state lines we had top quality health care and affordable prices as well.
Oh yeah, fascism is actually quite similar to both socialism and communism and nothing like actual free markets (which do not exist today) and no, McCain is not a free market advocate.
Free markets=freedom. Governments=force and coercian, slavery, war.
@siren888 Its not perfect in Australia by any means, much beter in a lot of countries ... that being said it still absolutely Shits all over USA! Where is your national pride yanks! How can you satnd some many countries , and small countries at that thinking your health care system SUCKS ARSE!!
@charlienorway I think it depends on the type of universal health care. If you live in a nation with a left wing system where the middle and upper class income households have to look after themselves and pay tax for the lower class to have health care then its unfair.
If you have a more right wing system where all people have the same health care and private health care sits above for 'optional extras' then its much more fair.
@k0tz45 to be fair to America, if I was a citizen there I would not want UHC either, given the US has some of the highest taxes in the world to pay for its massive military. (Not having a crack - I really do like the US, it's just a fact. My brothers girlfriend had a look at our taxes and she said 'and what about the state and county taxes?' - and I said 'what state and county taxes', at which point her jaw dropped).
@Realfoxhawk That is true buddy, but then again if you put it like that, you have to look at America's rather messed up priorities. Think about it, they put such a strain on people's disposable income etc because they put military before people's well-being. And sure you could raise the argument that defense increases the publics safety, but 300 F-16's or whatever don't protect you from the Swine Flu and what not. Military is important, but not so important that people die from treatable disease
@Berrarumpwrangler You can say what you like but I am still correct. Right wing conservative Republicans consider UHC communistic while Right wing conservatives in a lot of other nations consider the removal of UHC to be 'the rich get richer and poor get poorer'. That is a fact. The true reason why many Americans cannot stand UHC is that it sits alongside Private intead of underneath it and secondly the US has some of the highest taxes in the western world.

Oh and FUCK YOU TOO! Lol.
@Realfoxhawk If you really want a working UHC system that is fair then first you will need a massive tax reform. Reduce taxes to a more realistic level and make it one lot of tax instead of many. Then have your UHC apply to all people and as a cushion beneath private health care with private only covering the 'optional extras' that some people crave (eg own room, own doctor in hospital, jumping the que, better hospital food). Only super rich Republicans will oppose that.

@86ortega Exactly my point. :) I would never want to have a democrat version of UHC as it would be socialistic in nature, however I doubt both your major parties could ever work together to develop a working model that both agreed upon. There has just been too many decades of media propaganda calling everything 'communism'. I think the US is on track to a rich get rich poor get poorer future. No wonder the country is so broke.
@Realfoxhawk By American I just don't mean to say Australia or America is better I'm saying as America we have the constitution that makes this UHC unconstitutional and that is the rule of our land. Even though some politicians like to blatantly disregard the constitution in the end that is what is shaping these debates. As for the democrats and republicans which we call establishment are going against a huge wave of grassroot support coming from Ron Paul. The peoples revolution.
@86ortega The main problem I think you face is not so much things like UHC raising tax, more so it's the excessive spending in multiple layers of government from the Feds rght down to local levels. You need a series of cost cutting presidents who get rid of wasteful expendature. Anything a western government does always costs ten or more times what private enterprise costs, so privatise as much as possible and get rid of pointless programs. Then when debt is gone you can afford things like UHC.
@86ortega 2 - without it becoming a burden on the tax payers. This is what amazes me about my friends in the US. They all say they are so lucky to live in the greatest nation in the world and yet they pay more tax than me, cannot afford to get sick, have kids who they cannot get good schooling for and are struggling to stay above the poverty line despite having a second job. If I was the government I would want you to think you were the greatest nation so that you wouldn't keep them accountable
wouldn't life be great if he won. the states could do what the wanted to. the only problem with that is are goverment can't controll us. he lost before he even had a chance just like all the news said obama won before anyone had even heard the name. this election was fixed by the news. you can have your change. i just want my money back.
To those complaining about Obama...um, I'm sorry he hasn't fixed Bush's 8 year sh*tstorm in 1 year. Darn him. It's pathetic how many people are so ignorant and easily swayed by Republican scare tactics (i.e. lies) that they end up voting against THEIR OWN interests. Stop making this "Yes You (Obama) Can!"--it should be "Yes We Can!" Stop blaming the failures of a past president on the new one, take some action and responsibility, and f*cking educate yourselves.
@Wingman2517 Sorry, you're the dumb one. The economy was good under Clinton and the Bush Administration spent 8 years ruining it. And they were able to do so by lying to people like you because, clearly, you're too daft to think for yourself. And NOW you've recognized that we're in debt?! $13.3 trillion doesn't amass overnight. Our Government has done what WE let them do. Yeah, it's Obama's problem now, but it was certainly not his doing. Perhaps it's time for you to grow up and face reality.
not wanting to start somthing however bush was only president 3 months before the economy started to crash. if you dont believe me look it up. fact it takes at least 6 months to see the effects of the president. bush took on clintons dept. then we had the whole 9-11 thing. not for bush or obama but should we make the weak strong by making the strong weak. i just wish hussain would worry about jobs here in america and not medicare. oh ya i recieved my pink slip jan. 16-09 look that up.
the democrats r too weak, the dumb redneck republicans and huge corporations (banks and insurance companies) keep pulling obama's pussy ass to the right. the liberals and obama need to grow a set of balls and ignore those corrupt-hillbilly, anti-progressive church fanatics and make this country progressive and modern like france, switzerland, netherlands ect.
obama is a good speech giver, thats the only way he won the presidential election because he lies to everyone but he doesnt even pull through on his lies he is on of hte worst presdients we've evr had
ya i can understand it.. and i comprehend it that he just LIED HIS ASS OFF!!!! best of luck understanding that next year 2011 is the year of death haha... uhh man your probably thinking something ignorant or being stubborn right now because you know YOU BEEN LIED TO THE ENTIRE TIME!!! THE MAN IS A HIGHLY PAID COVER BOY
I agree with the people who support ron paul, i think he would be a great change and spark for government. i however find it amusing and just completely idiotic that so many on here think that after 8 years of garbage the world is supposed to magically change in a matter of months and without spending. lol good thing none of these idiots on here r involved in our government. change yalls make believe fox news programming and come up with ur own thoughts
i like some of what you said. ron paul would be a great president and the thing you said about having to spend. i was in dept up to my neck in credit cards. so i went on a spending spree and bought so much cool stuff it wasn't even funny. then i said how am i going to pay this off so i spent more. now i have all my cool stuff and owe nothing, i got it all taken care of by the goverment. i am going to spend even more now. let the tax payers pay for me. i lost my job. so sad, love the dems.
i voted for bush and he wanted me to pay taxes. screw that. he though i should have to pay for other people. what about me. i have found that if i act stupid and say i need help the dems give me money. i don't want too work i just want my wellfair check. i used to watch fox untell i found out they were always telling the truth and that made me sad. the world is harsh. i now lesson to cnn. they tell me everything is going to be fine becouse of hussain, just let someone else pay your dept for you.
It is so funny to listen to the people JUMP off the bandwagon, when those of us who saw Clinton and Carter Junior coming up to the plate, never got on it to begin with. This guy is a fraud and it is finally coming out. What in the world did he win the Peace Proce for? Anyone have ANY clue besides turning our beloved country in to a socialist country?
Obama talks the talk but DOSEN'T walk the walk! What positive thing has Obama done for this country since coming into office! He has since coming in wasted millions of dollars!
Younger folk??? what age? 21 and over. what happen to 18 -19?. its dumb of ER are expensive. I don't have insurance and don't even qualify to get medi-care, way ago obama. you have no solution.
Ron Paul is actually a smart guy, who will never be President, but will represent his constituency, honestly, for the rest of his life if, he so chooses. Ron Paul MD delivered many a life into this world so he feels a responsibility much greater than an average person. I think he does a great job as a thorn in the side of the establishment. They need it bad.
The problem with the healthcare system in America is simply this.
Pharmacutical companies are trying to find "treatments" for diseases instead of finding ways to prevent or outright cure them. There is only a 1 time payment for a cure. But people will have to keep coming back for treatments.
Think I'm full-of-it? How and the hell is it that before we had all of these pharmasutical companies; we cured smallpox and developed penecillin?
We cured more diseases 100 years ago than we are now!
omfg, RON PAUL REVOLUTION OMG OMG OMG. You are a straight up fegget, and you might wanna go put on that foil paper helmet because them aliens might getcha
Oh my God! Obama is such a socialist! Stick to the plan that has been working for 200 years! When you collect a $30,000 pay check, perhaps I"ll consider it. But since I know that will never happen, I'll be damned it you tell me what to do with my money.
YEAH! WHY THE HELL IS THE GOVERNMENT TAKING MY MONEY TO BUILD BRIDGES IN WESTERN ND THAT I DON'T USE? WHY ARE THEY TAKING MY MONEY TO PAY FOR POLICE; FIRE DEPTS; AMBULANCES; HOSPITALS; DWP; THE MILITARY; BORDER CONTROL; PUBLIC SCHOOLS; AND ALL OF THAT OTHER WORTHLESS CRAP I DON'T NEED? WE NEED TO PRIVATIZE EVERYTHING!
Do you have ANY idea what the hell you are talking about or are you just listening to the right wing MILLIONARES (most who married into money) who tell you what to think?
@NDstephan It is people who want to cut funding for essential services who scream the most when they are needed. They complain about the tax on their high incomes, but when a lot of those essential services are privatised the start charging a fortune. Thats where you end up with sick people not calling an ambulance for chest pains because they dont want the bill in the mail. A week later their relatives have a bigger funeral bill to pay. Not all privatisation is bad, a lot is very good.
@Realfoxhawk For example - governments like to say how they save money by keeping a tight grip on the cash. Why is it then that a private organisation gets things done for a billion when it costs a government 20 billion to fail to get it done.
as far as big business goes. it makes sense to give them tax benifits. the more money a company saves the more money it will have to give to employees or even hire new employees. if you tax companies for success than they're going to fire people just to make the same profit. that's why a lot of companies take their business out of country where they can pay a chinese dude 13 cents and hour instead $13 an hour. give companies a reason to employ americans. tax benifits isn't a bad idea.
wen u give tax benefits to business they only increase their own checks and say "it was neccessary for the company"... maybe if we had some tarriffs on out of country bussiness, then maybe it would work...but im sure its illegal so that idea is out of the question.
obama is increasing taxes and taking money from the businesses... u know why?... wen u give money to a person wat does he do?... he spends it.. and so the money will eventually com back to businesses so why the fuss?.. the years of "tax and spend" or "trickle down" has not worked... its time for the "pump-prime-method"...bush has failed by doing the same thing over and over again. einstein said that "insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result"
what are you talking about giving money to a person. are you saying that obama is taxing people and businesses so that he can give people money??? just wondering if you could clear that up for me. anyways, stimulus checks are stupid. they're temporarily. most people use it to pay bills, and it's usually only like 600 bucks. what good does that do? he'll take from the tax payer and give to people who don't pay taxes. it's called welfare. and that 's stupid cuz most people on welfare are druggies.
small towns do not offer much in way of employment, the way we live in 2009, good, moral, hardworking people are not exempt to sickness, hunger or tragedy. in our on times honesty and hardwork proved not as vaulable as in past, free market did alot of good, till about the 40s, when the complexity was such, that the few controled the biz, and over time the public was no longer a factor , this affects all, most of us rise and fall together, most against welfare are rich, its tasteless, faithless
i'm not rich but i'm against welfare. i think it's people who pay taxes that are the ones that don't like welfare. i make okay money, considering what i do, i work extremely hard for my money and it sucks knowing that theres some low life out there who goes to a place to collect money instead of going to a place to EARN money. if you don't like being on welfare then do something about it. hell, the military is voluntary. anyone can do that. that's an easy way out of poverty. no drugs allowed tho
actually believe it or not but the republicans have no say in what goes on. the presidents demicrat and the house mahority is democrat, so it really doesn't matter at all what the republicans say cuz the democrats just overule their vote. how could you say the economy is better? it's not at all better in fact it's getting worse. the president doesn't have much to do with the economy anyways. when it does eventually get better it don't matter cuz taxes will be throught the roof. we owe too much.
in 2008 the economy was in worse shape... gas prices reached an all time high...and people were layed off at a faster rate than they are now. And what do u mean the republicans have no say in the matter?... were democrats the one who favored tax cuts for big bussiness?
by 2010 we will be doing much better than we are now... no matter how u look at it everything is improving. watch the news and u will see for yourself.
actually the economy wasn't in worse shape, it still hasn't bottomed out yet. people are still losing their jobs, unemployment is estimated to jump 10% real soon, and gas dropped in 2008 significantly. do you not remember that?. if anything gas is going up right now. in a democracy bills are pased with a vote. since there's more dems in the house, it don't matter how the republicans vote cuz the demicrats have the majority.
the gas prices dropped after they reached an all time high of $5 in certain cities... in mine it was $4.35... and then it went down to like $2... but even so i still believe republicans arent letting obama do his job.
more factors play into the economy than just the president. the eeconomy has a lot to do with the value of your home. when the prices are going up then that's when our economy strives. people refinance, and the banks put money in their bank account. example: buy a house for 100,000, a year later it's worth 200,000, refinance and the bank puts 100,000 in your bank account. if you run into debt problems all you have to do is sell your house and all your debt is payed. no harm no foul.
i agree, the economy does hav alot to do with home values... personally mine was worth 40 grand last year wen everything slumped... now its worth about 50... personally i see that as a good thing.
so when you have 100,000 in your bank account, americans tend to spend that money. on cars, plasma screen tv's, upgrades to their house, and many other recreational and practical things. as a result the economy boost'. more jobs will added to support the growing demand of supply. once the real esate market bottoms out and the price of housing goes up that's when we'll see the economy go up and the unemployment rate drop. it doesn't have much to do with obama.
americans are idiots... they place personal gain before everything else and then complain about being in debt. but aside from how bad it makes them look, it does help the economy... and wen people dont hav the money to buy goods... the economy goes down and then they tax the people even more so big business will hav more money which most will take and increase the bonuses of the CEO's... which hurts the economy even more.
and actually everything is not improving. cuz even when our economy does bounce back, obama is spending so much money right now at such a rapid pace that once you and i have enough money to support our families and pay our bills, our govt is still going to be drastically in debt. and the govt pays its there bills with taxes. taxes they charge you. we'll have enough money but we'll also being paying a lot more in taxes. i think obama called "spread the wealth." i wanna keep as much $ as i can.
Lolz Mr Mccain looks just like my opponent when he realised that his perfectly executed attack had just crumbled like a house of cards When I say "check mate! " one turn before he does.
this proofs that republicans are stupids. mc cain knows that obana was right, but he laughes about it. what a really bad acting!!!! he should run for some stage..not for president.
lol funny how he actually exempted big businesses and stuck small businesses with the universal healthcare.

I don't get how the richest country in the world can't work this simple thing out
shandorejunk 1 year ago
@shandorejunk It's very simple why we can't. Lemme rephrase, THEY can't. I may live in this country but I don't claim to be an American at all. It's all about money. No one can do ANYTHING without whining and complaining unless there is some profit, somehow made to the higher ups in the government. Plain and simple. America's money is it's balls and the federal reserve has them clasped. And yet they still need more, more, more! I personally think we need a better solution. Simple as that.

mikekinney288 1 year ago
It's funny that during the campaign Obama criticized McCain for wanting to tax health benefits, but Obama's health care law taxes employer sponsored plans at a rate of 40 percent. A hypocrite and a fool. Quite possibly the worst President in American history. Definitely the worst President in my lifetime. All signs point to one term and out.

Realfoxhawk 2 years ago 38
@Realfoxhawk ending universal healthcare would actually be a step away from fascism/communism as there would be less resources allocated at the discretion of central planners. Something like half or maybe more of the US's GDP is controlled by the government, which is already absolutely atrocious considering the already huge number of taxpayer dependent government employees there are. Little about the US is free. Its just about what type of tyranny you want with big gov.
parquar 2 years ago
@parquar I wonder how much peoples perceptions do play a part though. I am amazed at how high you guys are taxed and there lies the problem I think. I guess that wont change without massive tax reform which would have to be accompanied by massive cuts to spending budgets. Would your states stand for losing their taxes? If it happened then something like a 1% tax on income above standard income tax for health care is not so much of a problem as people are not being slugged by endless taxes.
Realfoxhawk 2 years ago
Amazing how some short years ago, prior to governent involvement, creation of monopolies by government force, and banning of sales across state lines we had top quality health care and affordable prices as well.
Oh yeah, fascism is actually quite similar to both socialism and communism and nothing like actual free markets (which do not exist today) and no, McCain is not a free market advocate.
Free markets=freedom. Governments=force and coercian, slavery, war.
Oh well...

charlienorway 1 year ago
@charlienorway I think it depends on the type of universal health care. If you live in a nation with a left wing system where the middle and upper class income households have to look after themselves and pay tax for the lower class to have health care then its unfair.
If you have a more right wing system where all people have the same health care and private health care sits above for 'optional extras' then its much more fair.
I would not want the US democrat UHC system.
Realfoxhawk 1 year ago
@Realfoxhawk That is so true, although health care in Australia is awesome :)
k0tz45 1 year ago
@k0tz45 to be fair to America, if I was a citizen there I would not want UHC either, given the US has some of the highest taxes in the world to pay for its massive military. (Not having a crack - I really do like the US, it's just a fact. My brothers girlfriend had a look at our taxes and she said 'and what about the state and county taxes?' - and I said 'what state and county taxes', at which point her jaw dropped).
Realfoxhawk 1 year ago
@Realfoxhawk That is true buddy, but then again if you put it like that, you have to look at America's rather messed up priorities. Think about it, they put such a strain on people's disposable income etc because they put military before people's well-being. And sure you could raise the argument that defense increases the publics safety, but 300 F-16's or whatever don't protect you from the Swine Flu and what not. Military is important, but not so important that people die from treatable disease

86ortega 5 months ago
@86ortega Exactly my point. :) I would never want to have a democrat version of UHC as it would be socialistic in nature, however I doubt both your major parties could ever work together to develop a working model that both agreed upon. There has just been too many decades of media propaganda calling everything 'communism'. I think the US is on track to a rich get rich poor get poorer future. No wonder the country is so broke.
Realfoxhawk 5 months ago
@Realfoxhawk By American I just don't mean to say Australia or America is better I'm saying as America we have the constitution that makes this UHC unconstitutional and that is the rule of our land. Even though some politicians like to blatantly disregard the constitution in the end that is what is shaping these debates. As for the democrats and republicans which we call establishment are going against a huge wave of grassroot support coming from Ron Paul. The peoples revolution.
86ortega 5 months ago
@86ortega The main problem I think you face is not so much things like UHC raising tax, more so it's the excessive spending in multiple layers of government from the Feds rght down to local levels. You need a series of cost cutting presidents who get rid of wasteful expendature. Anything a western government does always costs ten or more times what private enterprise costs, so privatise as much as possible and get rid of pointless programs. Then when debt is gone you can afford things like UHC.
Realfoxhawk 5 months ago
@86ortega 2 - without it becoming a burden on the tax payers. This is what amazes me about my friends in the US. They all say they are so lucky to live in the greatest nation in the world and yet they pay more tax than me, cannot afford to get sick, have kids who they cannot get good schooling for and are struggling to stay above the poverty line despite having a second job. If I was the government I would want you to think you were the greatest nation so that you wouldn't keep them accountable

@NDstephan It is people who want to cut funding for essential services who scream the most when they are needed. They complain about the tax on their high incomes, but when a lot of those essential services are privatised the start charging a fortune. Thats where you end up with sick people not calling an ambulance for chest pains because they dont want the bill in the mail. A week later their relatives have a bigger funeral bill to pay. Not all privatisation is bad, a lot is very good.

as far as big business goes. it makes sense to give them tax benifits. the more money a company saves the more money it will have to give to employees or even hire new employees. if you tax companies for success than they're going to fire people just to make the same profit. that's why a lot of companies take their business out of country where they can pay a chinese dude 13 cents and hour instead $13 an hour. give companies a reason to employ americans. tax benifits isn't a bad idea.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
wen u give tax benefits to business they only increase their own checks and say "it was neccessary for the company"... maybe if we had some tarriffs on out of country bussiness, then maybe it would work...but im sure its illegal so that idea is out of the question.
Frenki93 2 years ago
obama is increasing taxes and taking money from the businesses... u know why?... wen u give money to a person wat does he do?... he spends it.. and so the money will eventually com back to businesses so why the fuss?.. the years of "tax and spend" or "trickle down" has not worked... its time for the "pump-prime-method"...bush has failed by doing the same thing over and over again. einstein said that "insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result"
Frenki93 2 years ago
what are you talking about giving money to a person. are you saying that obama is taxing people and businesses so that he can give people money??? just wondering if you could clear that up for me. anyways, stimulus checks are stupid. they're temporarily. most people use it to pay bills, and it's usually only like 600 bucks. what good does that do? he'll take from the tax payer and give to people who don't pay taxes. it's called welfare. and that 's stupid cuz most people on welfare are druggies.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
small towns do not offer much in way of employment, the way we live in 2009, good, moral, hardworking people are not exempt to sickness, hunger or tragedy. in our on times honesty and hardwork proved not as vaulable as in past, free market did alot of good, till about the 40s, when the complexity was such, that the few controled the biz, and over time the public was no longer a factor , this affects all, most of us rise and fall together, most against welfare are rich, its tasteless, faithless
bigabefree 2 years ago
i'm not rich but i'm against welfare. i think it's people who pay taxes that are the ones that don't like welfare. i make okay money, considering what i do, i work extremely hard for my money and it sucks knowing that theres some low life out there who goes to a place to collect money instead of going to a place to EARN money. if you don't like being on welfare then do something about it. hell, the military is voluntary. anyone can do that. that's an easy way out of poverty. no drugs allowed tho

No... No he hasn't... the republicans are getting in his way and keeping us from the "change".
but u gotta admit the economy is better than it was be4 his presidency...
got anything else to stay?
Frenki93 2 years ago
actually believe it or not but the republicans have no say in what goes on. the presidents demicrat and the house mahority is democrat, so it really doesn't matter at all what the republicans say cuz the democrats just overule their vote. how could you say the economy is better? it's not at all better in fact it's getting worse. the president doesn't have much to do with the economy anyways. when it does eventually get better it don't matter cuz taxes will be throught the roof. we owe too much.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
in 2008 the economy was in worse shape... gas prices reached an all time high...and people were layed off at a faster rate than they are now. And what do u mean the republicans have no say in the matter?... were democrats the one who favored tax cuts for big bussiness?
by 2010 we will be doing much better than we are now... no matter how u look at it everything is improving. watch the news and u will see for yourself.
Frenki93 2 years ago
actually the economy wasn't in worse shape, it still hasn't bottomed out yet. people are still losing their jobs, unemployment is estimated to jump 10% real soon, and gas dropped in 2008 significantly. do you not remember that?. if anything gas is going up right now. in a democracy bills are pased with a vote. since there's more dems in the house, it don't matter how the republicans vote cuz the demicrats have the majority.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
the gas prices dropped after they reached an all time high of $5 in certain cities... in mine it was $4.35... and then it went down to like $2... but even so i still believe republicans arent letting obama do his job.
Frenki93 2 years ago
more factors play into the economy than just the president. the eeconomy has a lot to do with the value of your home. when the prices are going up then that's when our economy strives. people refinance, and the banks put money in their bank account. example: buy a house for 100,000, a year later it's worth 200,000, refinance and the bank puts 100,000 in your bank account. if you run into debt problems all you have to do is sell your house and all your debt is payed. no harm no foul.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
i agree, the economy does hav alot to do with home values... personally mine was worth 40 grand last year wen everything slumped... now its worth about 50... personally i see that as a good thing.
Frenki93 2 years ago
so when you have 100,000 in your bank account, americans tend to spend that money. on cars, plasma screen tv's, upgrades to their house, and many other recreational and practical things. as a result the economy boost'. more jobs will added to support the growing demand of supply. once the real esate market bottoms out and the price of housing goes up that's when we'll see the economy go up and the unemployment rate drop. it doesn't have much to do with obama.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
americans are idiots... they place personal gain before everything else and then complain about being in debt. but aside from how bad it makes them look, it does help the economy... and wen people dont hav the money to buy goods... the economy goes down and then they tax the people even more so big business will hav more money which most will take and increase the bonuses of the CEO's... which hurts the economy even more.
Frenki93 2 years ago
and actually everything is not improving. cuz even when our economy does bounce back, obama is spending so much money right now at such a rapid pace that once you and i have enough money to support our families and pay our bills, our govt is still going to be drastically in debt. and the govt pays its there bills with taxes. taxes they charge you. we'll have enough money but we'll also being paying a lot more in taxes. i think obama called "spread the wealth." i wanna keep as much $ as i can.
pokeylilpuppy 2 years ago
