One is not "better" than the other here. . .it's a narrative interpretative dance & each is playing their parts. I suspect the "red-haired woman" and the "girl in the dress" could've been interchanged without a loss of quality in the dancing.

However, it would've completely altered the interpretation of the narrative.

As a casted piece, no one part is more important than the rest. In fact, the lead couldn't sustain this piece unless all of the dancers were of equal calibre & quality.
