@hitstick567 i get my blood drawn every 4-6 months and i am 14.mine arent really visable but you can see some of them i actually just got my blood drawn 2 days ago and it only feels like a pinch.

doesnt hurt, but when the doctor takes the needle out the wrong way, omg its a weird sting feeling, feels like spreaking your skin apart.

It all depend on who draws your blood. I had one girl one time and it hurt. and another time she drawn it I didnt even feel it. But ill draw this girls blood anytime.

i have to watch the needle go in other wise it hurts and i watch the blood being drawn or if i get a needle i watch it and it doesnt hurt i LIKE NEEDLES i have allways liked them and ive had them so many times that i dont even feel it  YAY NEEDLES im geeting them next year at school or in year 10 ( im 13 in grade 8)

I know! I just don't get how people are scared of needles! I don't nessarly LIKE them but I don't mind them. And I also don't get why people say it hurts less when you don't look. It DOESN'T It accually hurts MORE.

It's ok... Through faith in God I overcame not only a fear of blood work, but I once threatened to hit a nurse that apparently didn't understand the word no. Now, I don't mind doing it anytime the the doctors thinks it is necessary.

Their was a time in my life when I wouldn't have allowed blood to be drawn. Fourteen trips to the OR an too many bad experiences with needles, but now I can watch them do it...

You are correct, she should have. but.........she did have gloves on yes? Alcohol isnt as good a disinfectant as most would have you believe. Doesnt really kill them all, it washes some off and slows the rest down.Bottom line as long as the phleb had her gloves on and didnt touch the metal part of the needle with her bare finger your unlikely to have a problem.

why didnt the phlebotomist wipe your skin with alcohol swab before puncturing it? she touched your skin, it should've been wiped...
