i have a knocking or deep clicking sound on the front passenger side under the car, it is a noise that cycles, and when i hit the breaks to slow down it disappears. the sound seems to occur around speeds of 15mph and below and specially in glide speed where there no gas pedal pressure is applied. i think the knocking sound is coming from the front axle around the right tire (passenger side). WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE???
I hav e an A4,an I get A lite jolt,or hesitation,when I excellerate,it's A quattro,do you think an axle will slip while 3 others pull ??? your intake would be appreciated ...
As promised I am letting the world know if my new cv joint axles fixed my steering knock/pop. Well, unfortunately no. Now I'm at about $1,600. What's left I wonder... steering rack? How come nobody can seem to figure this out?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.
Spent $1,200 trying to get a similar knock/pop out of my chevy impala. 1.Outer tie rod end. 2.Stabilizer bar bushings. 3.Upper strut mounts. 4.Wheel bearing. (The car actually [sort of] needed everything but the upper strut mounts [the dealership said they were 80% sure the upper strut mounts were the noise source]. I didn't think of cv joints (but then neither did my mechanic or the dealership). Next thing is the cv axles...wish me luck, I'll let you know what happens. My mechanic loves me now.
@MKUltraProject Look asshole its still a shaft the only reason its called a joint is because it can change angles. it contains a shaft and a joint so were both right. go up load some more kelly roland videos
@robby844 you have truley impressed me....what kind of cv joint is it? double offset?....cross crove?....maybe tripod?...stfu idc what you have to say
