I have never met an artist as dedicated and educated as Nelyollotl. The history of the Anahuac mural itself is a history of resistance and celebration. The saddest thing was when i saw "AZTEC NATION" spray painted on some of the most detailed parts of the mural. Aztec Nation a tagging crew, tagging on the Anahuac mural? What morons! Nelyollotl paints in the tradition of Diego Rivera, he writes historical phrases that describe the painting.

Very sad but true. Indeed we are in bad condition. We are still a wounded people not only by racial scar but mentally by controlled of European colonialism and it's it laws and their white supremacy.

I'm impacted by the persistence it takes to keep that mural up, but its sad it keeps being defaced.

The rejection of history is a direct product of colonialism for those of color, as well as self hatred.

This is very sad and infuriating. Nelyollotl is a brave Warrior and an inspiration to us all.

I read aztec by gary jennings and another book that was the sequel before I became really involved with Liberation and had woken up from colonialism. It is nothing more than a fictional story with only a little fact and quite a dark and racist portrayal of our people.
