I heard Rod Stewart didn't want to sing this song with the faces because he thought his voice was too good to be wasted on this song. Then he put it on his own album later. That's a little douche-baggish, and anyone who tries to recreate the rod stewart version is also a douche bag in my books.

The crux of my argument was that anyone who tries to recreate the rod stewart version is a douche bag, and the previous sentences explain why i think this way. It was The Faces but Ronnie Lane sung it because Rod's voice didn't fit the song. Rod's voice is much more raspy and a different key than Ronnie's and that is why they decided Ronnie should sing it.
