I love this body style. This is the car that made me start to notice BMW's back in the late '70s, when I was in high school. Would love to have one well-restored for Sunday drives while listening to Wagner or '50s Miles Davis.

Das Auto ist ja sehr gut erhalten. Solche Autos sollten se heute wieder herstellen und nicht so Wakuumplaste-Ökoautos mit Hybrid

Benutze Zweitaktöl 1:100 im Benzin, das beschützt die empfindlichen alten Alu Legierungen der Vintage Motoren und das ganze Kraftstoffsystem vor Korrosion durch den heutigen Sprit mit 5-10% Methanol....die Weber Vergaser werden es Dir danken auch die oberen Zylinderandteile...den Tip habe ich von Bosch und Ferrari Meister von ferrari Eberlein kassel

No it's fine, mine had the same issue. It's the rockers, I bought a head from a salvage yard rebuilt and swapped.

My '81 E12 528i had very noise tappets, I just removed the rocker cover and tightened them up to about 4/5 of workbook spec, it quietened it right up. The idle was a little lumpier however. I miss that car.

this is all original parts i didn't have to buy anything,...

maybe you should check ebay or oldtimer sellers...

Wow, ein schönes Auto! Sowas verkauft man doch nicht ;-) Mein Vater hat auch ca. 20 Jahre einen E12 gefahren, allerdings das etwa 5 Jahre jüngere Modellpflege-Modell.
