You boast that this helmet comes in "no loud colors". Wouldn't it be better to make it in loud colors so that motorists could see you and actually avoid a crashes?
@camillaparker, you're right in that increased visibility helps improve safety but a lot of people are also concerned about style. It's a fine line we have to balance when we design for function and aesthetics. For increased visibility we recommend using a dedicated rear safety light like our BioLogic TailLight that gives both passive (an integrated reflector) and active (an LED light) signals to motorists.
@Guesswhokk, the folded size of the Pango is 23 x 18.5 x 13 cm (9.1 x 7.3 x 5.1 in). The Pango is different from the Stashkit in that the back also folds up, effectively halving the height of the helmet.
Oof. That thing looks worse than the lid I wear now. I say instead of designing them to look increasingly worse, let's just all wear Star Wars helmets.
This is a totally unnecessary invention as any experienced biker knows that you can string a bike cable lock through the helmet vent holes at the same time they lock their bike up. PLEASE, someone invent something useful for us such as a bicycle helmet that doesn't look completely stupid to wear in public....the first guy that comes up with a helmet design that appeals to the masses will make billions.
Hmm... put a moist helmet in your bag and... yuck. Also wonder about using it with one of those covers for the equestrian-looking bike helmets? Also if these are sold mail-order or by non-professionals improper fitting may negate or worsen... impacts.
For bike share in Australia they want helmets to be available at convenience stores -- super idiotic idea.
Many places require helmets for children, so people buy them (and bikes, of course) with the child not present. Stoopid.
I'd take a poor fitting helmet over no helmet if I'm hitting the deck. At least if people buy them in a convenience store they have the chance of putting them on correctly.
@zxcbvnm90 - A poorly -fitting helmet is worst for rotational injuries. Convenience store clerks will not be trained to fit helmets.
Anyway, I spoke of Australia but specifically it is Melbourne, and very few people there are using the new bike share bikes because of the helmet law.
I ride a Brompton, but Dahon will be getting some of my money for one of these the minute it's available. I constantly have to find places to put my existing helmet or have it swinging from my bag. Epic design win!
i dont get what this is about, why am i even here, i came here from cher loyds music video lol

So what is the folded dimension?
Since Stashkit helmet were criticized for it lack of noticeable difference after been folded.

who really needs one of these how much space does a helmet really take up!?
chaosgragon44 1 year ago
Excellent concept! However, it's not really the best looking helmet.... Hopefully Dahon will be able to design a more stylist and compact one.

think of the military applications of this. A light weight portable helmet that can fold into most any bdu leg pocket.
