  • That was weak for a pro athlete. LenDale is big, but not nearly as strong as he should be for his size and being a pro runningback. I'm 5'9" 205 and did that same exercise for 21 reps in my third year of college football. That's 225 lbs. I was a runningback. Much faster than LenDale too, but my 4.36 40m is besides the point. I'm not saying I'm a beast (or at least that's not my intention), my point is that he's not the beast he should be. An elite athlete should and would know this.

  • @MaaNonu123 his numbers seem off but i had a similar situation of always power cleaning about 20-30 pounds more than my bench. Only after college, when i stopped cleaning often, did my bench  finally surpass my power clean

  • I got to A highschool in florida and ther so happens to be another highschool across the road. im in the 10th grade there is a 10th grader at the other school who benches 415 and he is 6'4

  • no there are highschool players benching 485- 550 pounds- sam harvill and hunter joyer, both highschool juniors, sam harvill got 42 reps of 225 as a sophomore in highschool, so get your facts straight, class of 2011 highschool has the strongest football athletes yet

  • dont have to take roids to be big.. i had over 5 diff people at my highschool benchin 400. hardwork, dedication, and persistence start young and stick with it and you will be a beast flat out

  • bouncing off the chest and the total back arching is wrong. you need to be flat on the bench, bring the weight down to your chest, let it touch (NOT BOUNCE, DONT REST IT) and back up. Sorry to say but if u cant do that without arching ur back 3 ft in the air or bouncing weights on your chest then the weight is too much for you. JUST DROP THE WEIGHTS and do something that you can do properly with perfect form.

  • @ryank1331 to be honest, if you go to any college or high school the coaches aren't particular on form. They care about weights. If the kid can bench 270 but bounce the weight the look past it and count the max.

  • the most i ever got at 225 was 18reps but i weighed around 205 then i think my max at the time was about 335x4 i have never actually done a 1 rep max because where i train is more of a fitness center and there is rarely anybody in the weight training area to spot me

  • im a stength coach n totally agree. His squat as a RB is WAY more important. Infact his hang clean is way more important if he's a linemen. Its just stupid to have them do these tests that shoud of stopped 20 years ago. We have progressed passed the bench press into more transferable lifts. ah well im sure good NFL Snc coaches r all to aware of this too

  • @TockCease first of all synthol is not a steroid, steroids are adaptations of hormones, and your right not all steroids are anabolic (muscle building) such as cortisone, and the base of everyones steroid cycle is still testosterone in which 95 percent of cases is injected, other boosters like d-bol are usually taking orally but only for the first few weeks to get you jump started, even the most basic routine is taking with injections

  • @TockCease synthol basically it's an oil that's injected directly into a specific muscle that happens to increase the appearance of mass in that muscle. it doesn't actually make the muscle bigger, only appear bigger.

    it's not a steroid or related to a steroid in any way, shape or form. it's purely cosmetic only, and it wears off, requiring constant upkeep (it's also not safe or good for you). it doesn't help in performance in any way, and can actually cause muscle to weaken.

  • my point is you can get strong with out roids that was the point of the convo and those powerlifting competitions are a joke they use bench shirts which i have heard of some bench shirts that increase you bench press by 200lbs lol what is the point of wearing something that without it you couldn't even approach the weight.

  • powerlifting competitions have divisions where the lifters wear gear (like a bench shirt) and where it is RAW where you can't wear anything. So no, they're not really a joke. And guys that are benching like 800 lbs with a shirt still do 500 to 600 raw easy and just compete both raw and geared competitions.

  • i am not a powerlifter but it seems to me the whole point is to get up as much weight as possible and try to be the person that lifts the most weight. these guys build up to world records without bench shirts also in the raw meets but its about pressing new limits in strength and bench shirts are just another tool in helping them just like weight lifting straps, weight belts and knee wraps. a lot of thinks in the fitness world dont have to make sense to work
