Actually this is about 7 years old now, it 's actually an "ESSEX" guitar, which I believe is the same company, I got it through Rondomusic. Being 7 years ago though I don't know the exact model, I don't think they offer it. anymore.
I already saw it and commented, but i don't see my comment there.. weird. I liked you're a lot, very cool splitting the screen like that! Awesome idea!
And thanks for hte tip. I actually do alternate pick if I play with the live version, but the original is actually so slow I have trouble alternate picking at that rate, it ends up sounding sloppy. Thanks for watching mine, you're was real good too!
haha thx man. this proves that i just need to change my fucked up amp to get a nice sound cos i have the same guitar and this guitar sounds good on its own.
It's the right notes, but I've always played it further up the neck towards the headstock than Kirk does... plus I'm not nearly as good so that would explain the sound ;)
Then I'll stop by and pick up your guitar tonight ;) jk
and you're right about that part, Kirk plays it higher on the neck, but I learned it this way when I started playing, and I don't feel it needs a change! I like the attention to detail though, thanks!
Not bad! I am going to film me playing it pretty soon and uploading, so keep checking! Also in the solo, I suggest up-down picking because you can play faster. I take lessons from Sonny Lombardozzi (He's extremely fast) and he says for the little riffs like that it is better to go up-down.
They play it faster live, and then I almost need to alt pick, but it's almost too slow for me to alt pick cus it gets sloppy oddly enough. But if Sonny says so, than it must be so, cus I know he's a sh*t ton better than me! ;)
my band has its first gig tomorrow and we open with this song! :P BTW your gear is a lot like mine, i got a Spider III 120. with a schecter hell raiser.
yeah i do, i punch in a good Rat setting with some heavy bass, low mid, high treble and it just sounds awesome. but when i played my show last night i couldnt use my amp so i had to use this crapy crunchy overdrive. but it made the lead guitar on the verse sound awesome so i didnt mind.
$99.99 buy it now on ebay. I haven't added anything to it that has cost me. Just took the pickups from another guitar and put them in this one, but that hasn't really changed the sound at all for better or worse.
Thanks, yeah it's WAY up there on the studio version. I'm playing along with a track that I got off ebay where it's a drum and bass track, and tuned to 440 standard. Most of Ride the Lightning is in like 445, and I think fade to black and bells are even higher!
No, it's not even close! I don't remember what the setting was that I modded for this tone, but it's the insane setting with distortion around 7, bass high, mids low. The whombelltoll setting sucks, as does the "MasterofPuppets" setting.
I realized once I got to the end that I wasn't using my V with the whammy bar to do the dive bombs. Sounds stupid but I didn't realize until that point, and it kinda shocked me. ;) And I don't like to start over again, I just post what I play the first time, mistakes and all.
Well, I listened to yours and read the discription. You're not playing the same amp setup, so it's really hard to say. But i think the best rule of thumb to go by for metallica songs is bass all the way up, mids all the way down, treble all the way up (this sounded like the difference maker in yours, it kind of all meshes together because I think there's not enough treble). But that could be just the characteristics of the distortion pedal you're using.
It's fucking good. Tell me please, how long and how much time per day did you play? (sorry about my english, i know a lot of words but i can't speak with present perfect etc...)
I've played for ten years now, and I try to play for at least a half hour per night. Thank you for your praise, but I'm really not that good. If you want some advice here it is: Keep a guitar in your hands as much as you can, and enjoy the process of improving, and not just waiting for the day that it sounds good. Enjoy every note and it'll sound great before you know it. Like my mom said "Art is never wrong" so don't ever get frustrated.
That's why I love the song, I get board playing it too (I really only played it cus I have the drum track for it) but sometimes you have to listen to a song not as a guitarist, and be impressed that they can make 4 chords sound so good!
I was goin to buy this half stack but am having reservations about it due to the spec it states 2 x 75 watt could you clarify as a user that this means 75 watt for clean channel and 75 watt for gain channel . Or does this mean something else all together ? Please let me know ASAP thanks .
To be honest, I don't know that much about it either, I just know that if I turn it up it's LOOOOUUD!!! What you here is me playing with it on like 3 out of 12. It's got plenty of power for me. I hope that helps, I apologize for my ignorance.
Thats ok . I am buying this amp anyway when i bought one of my guitars i used this amp in the shop to try the sound for the guitar and i knew i had to buy it and my marshall ( 20 years old ) just packed in and sounds bad now . keep an eye out for my videos .
Thanks. To be honest, I'm not sure what model it is. I got it like 6 years ago. It's got the old headstock, the one that is shaped and marked almost exactly like a Gibson, which is cool. It stays in tune, so for $100, that's all you can ask.

Thanks, yeah I have a few guitars, this being the cheapest of them, and there's not much of a difference between all of them, it's all about the amp.
